I stayed here late last summer (2023) at the Fox & Hounds Country Hotel. I used Eggesford station regularly during that time and I thought the way the level crossing was work was potentially rather dangerous, especially approaching from Exeter. The driver has to stop, pull a rope, wait for the crossing to work before pulling forward into the station. Suppose he slips up and misses pulling the rope? Doubt that would end well!
