This is a TRUE treat! The deleted video of NE’s sizzling performance at the Kiss 108 FM Boston Party live at the Boston Garden 1985! Highlights include “My Secret (Didja Getit Yet?), a cover of Prince’s ‘84 smash hit “I Would Die 4 U” and “Kinda Girls We Like” featuring a smokin’ HOT rap by Ricky! This is one of the best videos known (definitely the highest quality available) documenting NE’s 1984-85 “New Edition” self-titled album era. The guys are young, fresh, raw and entering into their prime! This video serves as a rare glimpse and precursor into what was to come. A rare time capsule indeed, enjoy!

I am on a campaign called, "Rediscovery Ralph." Man - I was at 2 of the early shows to include this one during the tour. ALL the members are great but Ralph - it started with Candy Girl and that MJ influence that morphed into a style all his own. He is the channel that allowed us to see the talents of Ricky and Bobby because Candy Girl started it all. His willingness to be unselfish in the beginning is ONE of the main factors that got us here today. All members are so talented and Ralph was the spark that lit the flame.

It feels So Good to own NE Home Again on vinyl finally. It took a lot of looking to find it. The only project with all 6 officially on it and i really enjoyed that project. Not eclipsing Heartbreak but its just different. Special.

I can understand if they were. They wanted people to understand that they were talented too! Especially with the voice Ricky has!
@@PurpleRain500 I believe they was. Ralph tells this story on every interview he does. They was all jealous of him getting all the leads. He felt closes to Bobby and once Bobby left he explained he felt very lonely in the group because they would leave him out of stuff. Which was one of the main reasons he wanted to go solo before the heartbreak album. It was only when Johnny and him got close did he feel comfortable again in the group
@@LeonCook34 They were jealous. He did say he was ostracized. In the studio alone, BBD would leave and go to the club w/o him. RT put up with a lot BS for the sake of the group. That's one reason why I was glad JG came to the group, because he and RT became friends and he had someone in his corner.

@@SRR0247 Negative. Ronnie is the 5th member but NE was 4 members from 1978-1982. Ronnie was in the group during this time, but when the group started he wasnt there.

Is this the same tour where they opened up for Rick James, and he eventually had his band (The Stone City Band) backup NE, instead of them performing to tracks?
Good question. I never knew that they performed to tracks. But this was a special appearance at a show hosted by Kiss 108 FM. I know that Rick’s band backed them up on the “Heartbreak Tour” in 1988/89 which is in my page.
Rick James never put together a band for NE.....WE WERE THE ORIGINALS......
