Gigli, Daredevil and Pearl Harbor. Three absolutely terrible films that harmed his career for years. Daredevil being one of the worst comic book films of the 2000's, Pearl Harbor being a film with great production value and cinematography but an absolute ass of a script was maybe the most damaging as the technical mastery of that film ends up highlighting on how absolutely terrible that script is, and Gigli is just straight up one of the worst films of the decade
He is a talented actor (and a really good director) but those three films basically gave him an image of one of the worst actors in Hollywood, which he absolutely is not
I think he's underrated but he's a pretty good actor actually, and has a great presence
Affleck in The Last Duel was bloody great.

LOVE Ben Affleck, always have ... He is brilliant. His creativity is endless. Very underrated and tortured by paparazzi for all the wrong reasons. Once his confidence level rises and he feels 'settled'' there will be no end to his artistry and gifts to us. Like Johnny Depp and RDJ, some humans are just walking art 🎭 🎨 and with that brilliance comes challenges. We LOVE you, Ben!!!

The Last Duel so underrated. Really hope it becames "cult classic" or something. A movie that has a long life even if it failed in the box office

He's in a lot of awesome films. Not a lot of actors can say that.
His understanding about movies is really really admirable. And he's really humble and honest about everything.
The town is one of my favorite movies. While it’s big in plot and action, the characters are grounded and relatable. So you can watch it on a deep level, get involved in the depth of characters, or you can zone out and enjoy borrowing your friends car to shoot a guys kneecap off. Seen that movie maybe 50 times.

I love Ben Affleck. He truly is down to earth.
Compared to other famous
celebrities, he's seen a lot of failure, both professionally and personally, therefore he's learned to be humble and human and grateful for what he has, unlike other spoiled brats in Hollywood. That's why he also became an accomplished director/producer.

Matt was right about Changing Lanes. It's a very underrated movie. I was shocked by how good it was when I finally saw it.

One of my favourite performance of his was Bartleby in Dogma. Very underrated, but I really think it’s one of his best, and the movie holds up so much.

I wish I could rewatch that film. I only saw it once shortly after it came out. Sadly, it's not available on streaming services and isn't likely to be.

I think the Oscar snub really affected how he feels about that film. He left it off his own personal fave films of his too.
The Way Back is a really great movie. Came out right when Covid shut down the world so I don’t think it got a good break. Everyone should check it out.

Hilarious that I grew up being told Matt Damon is the genius in the Good Will Hunting script and Ben Affleck just tagged along. I remember Family Guy making a joke about that. Damn was I wrong! Both are geniuses in their own right

I love seeing Mr. Affleck with more years on him. The older I get, the more I appreciate seeing all these folks with more age and experience on them.
Ben Affleck might be "the actor" with the most balanced filmography of all, he has done as many number of great movies as he has done pretty bad ones. The scale might be tilted towards more good movies now more so than before.
He did quite a few bad ones after Good Will Hunting. Then he started stacking good ones as he got older.
Well, that makes sense. As you get older you start getting a rep and you start getting the privilege of being able to choose your roles. Before then, as newbies without strong connections, you're just doing any job that comes your way.

I believe Ben Affleck is one of the best actors in the game right. The Accountant is one of my ALL time favorites because he nailed the character. Good Will Hunting is an amazing film. Watching Damon and Affleck go all in was great but Robin Williams stole the show. The Town is just one THE best bank robbery films and they pay respect to The Heat, the BEST of the best..'
