If these are pre-rendered, why arent they recursive? Just needs the render engine to remember the last frame and use that as a render texture. Does Nintendo's render farm not have enough vram to do an effect mario kart 8 did in real-time?
@@ShadowSneak. it 100% isnt using anything close to screen-space refuections, cus that is just distorting the main render buffer and would cause tuns of artifacting with how much the camera moves. If its real-time with an actual camera that simultaneously makes sense and doesn't why the screen isnt recursive, it would need to keep the camera in a frame-buffer for the screen behind them to use the last frame, and the switch is allready ram-transfer limited in alot of games

4:22 _Into the Light_ (JP: Friend From Faraway)
8:37 _Daybreaker Anthem_ (JP: See You Later, On and On and On)
I didn’t know that Into the Light and Daybreaker Anthem had different names in Japanese.

They’re rendered in real time probably using the same or similar effect as screen space reflections
