Wasn’t the Exorcist movie based on the book though? Also, don’t read the book; it is very boring. It is basically just “does she have schizophrenia or a demon? Is it epilepsy or a demon?” for the entire thing except the last 20 pages when they FINALLY start the exorcism.
William Blatty based his movie 'the exorcist' off his book 'the exorcist', which was inspired by this story of Roland that he heard when he was in georgetown.
Imagine exorcism doesn't actually work and demons just play along and lay dormant to not be suspicious because they've already taken the body of the host
i go to a catholic school which had caused quite a stir when a mass demonic possession happened when i was in 6th grade. everyone in my city believes in possessions and demons, so we had a mass exorcism performed inside the church. i can still remember the screams and images of high school students inside the church as me and my friends exited the school premises. i got to witness it closer years later when i started high school and i was in the classroom that was apparently the most haunted room in the school. around 10 of my classmates started hyperventilating and screaming intelligible things. idk if maybe it was just mass hysteria or something scientifically explainable but it was indeed scary witnessing it right in front of you
Not even close. Possession by evil spirits was a religious concept long before the first century, as was the notion of attempting to cast them out. Even in that particular story, there is no sign at all that people observing did not understand what was happening.

@@justinsmart5870 If these entities existed I wouldn't see the benefit for them, just like I'd assume you wouldn't find any benefit in possessing a cockroach if you could.
His Aunt claimed to be a witch, when she visited her nephew she brought a Ouija board with her and showed the lad how it worked. The Aunt died some time later and the boy attempted to contact her spirit using the Ouija board. This opened a door for him to the dark side causing him to become possessed. The movie the Exorcist is based of this event. This explanation of what happened here is not the same as the one related by the actual priest who was involved in the Exorcist. For example, the priest was not the one who said " Satan Satan I am Saint Michael etc " It was the boy who cried out those words. This story here is not a true account of what happened. You can get the true account from the Exorcist priest here on RUclips.
Speaking as a skeptic, how is it that all these people witnessed these events, but the only written account came from the one diary of the priest? Did no one else think, "huh, this is the wildest thing that has ever happened in our lives. Heck I reckon most of the people in the world have never experienced something like this. Maybe I should find a way to share this story so people don't forget about this crazy and important event that has happened."?
@@KHEENGS A- why would they keep it hush hush? The Catholic Church uses fear tactics all the time, so it makes little sense for them to not let the people know that possession is real. B- based on the accounts of the diary, the Catholic Church comes out looking really good. "Yes you can get possessed by the devil, but out priests can save you." Even if they were trying to keep it hush hush, there seemed to be a lot of witnesses present. So the fact that no one said or wrote anything about what was going on is still weird. Despite the power the Church may have, they wouldn't be able to stop these people from talking about it.

I'm so glad a secular source has provided this no-nonsense analysis of the situation for people who might be skeptical about such phenomena. I can confirm it's very real, nothing good comes out of spirit channelling or related practices. Thankfully God is bigger!
You're right infographics the world is in a much better place...lol
Wasn’t the Exorcist movie based on the book though? Also, don’t read the book; it is very boring. It is basically just “does she have schizophrenia or a demon? Is it epilepsy or a demon?” for the entire thing except the last 20 pages when they FINALLY start the exorcism.
William Blatty based his movie 'the exorcist' off his book 'the exorcist', which was inspired by this story of Roland that he heard when he was in georgetown.
The book is great
Let’s make a jump of logic here,
Movie based on book, book based on Roland’s story.
Watching this before bed. Lol
SAME 😭😭😭
William Blatty wrote the book based on first hand testimony from the Priest and his assistant Priest involved in the exorcism.
One is caught up playing the impassioned protagonist in one’s Subjective Narrative of Self🎈
All of these possessions and there are no pictures or videos of people levitating or having supernatural strengths/ powers. I'm seeing a pattern 🤣🤣

"The power of Christ compels you" - what you should say when said father tells you to take off your pants
Hey infographics its Roland
That sorta scary
I'm not a religious person but i have a great respect and won't mess with Ouija boards or graveyards. Nope, won't touch'em
Like my mom once famously said "WHO THE H.... TOLD YOU TO MESS WITH THAT!?"😱
Why do people think to use Christianity to fight all spirits when someone is possessed? What if it doesn't work
Imagine exorcism doesn't actually work and demons just play along and lay dormant to not be suspicious because they've already taken the body of the host

11:58 Is that a real university?
No
HaHAha… no I am not watching this at 12:30am
i go to a catholic school which had caused quite a stir when a mass demonic possession happened when i was in 6th grade. everyone in my city believes in possessions and demons, so we had a mass exorcism performed inside the church. i can still remember the screams and images of high school students inside the church as me and my friends exited the school premises. i got to witness it closer years later when i started high school and i was in the classroom that was apparently the most haunted room in the school. around 10 of my classmates started hyperventilating and screaming intelligible things. idk if maybe it was just mass hysteria or something scientifically explainable but it was indeed scary witnessing it right in front of you
maybe toxic air or something, if it's real and that many ppl, some Google search with time and location should have the explanation
@@10tailedbijuu what kinda of large scale incident like that will not be reported and researched.... even tiny incidents are recorded
Amen
Wasn’t Jesus the first person who did an excorcism?
Not even close. Possession by evil spirits was a religious concept long before the first century, as was the notion of attempting to cast them out. Even in that particular story, there is no sign at all that people observing did not understand what was happening.
If you believe that a supernatural, super-intelligent and extremely powerful entity finds it "good fun" to manipulate some random human simpleton, you...Sigh...
I mean humans do it ourselves, if they existed, I wouldn’t consider it impossible
@@justinsmart5870 If these entities existed I wouldn't see the benefit for them, just like I'd assume you wouldn't find any benefit in possessing a cockroach if you could.

Some people and their fantasies

"Trust me dude! "
Clearly it's all made up. If it wasn't they would not have waited to tell people about it.
Why not its 4:00 Am and i cant sleep. This will help 🤤
What part of the catholic keeping it hush hush don’t you understand?
@@KHEENGS A- why would they keep it hush hush? The Catholic Church uses fear tactics all the time, so it makes little sense for them to not let the people know that possession is real.
B- based on the accounts of the diary, the Catholic Church comes out looking really good. "Yes you can get possessed by the devil, but out priests can save you."
Even if they were trying to keep it hush hush, there seemed to be a lot of witnesses present. So the fact that no one said or wrote anything about what was going on is still weird. Despite the power the Church may have, they wouldn't be able to stop these people from talking about it.
