By dropping those plugs into the cylinder tubes, you have potentially changed your plug gap.. always place plugs into the socket first then lower them carefully down the tubes to avoid this.

Awesome vid! Plus the RS7 plugs are great on MQB cars can’t agree more. Now If you go bigger turbo etc then you’re going to have to go 2 steps colder.
Just done mine and you’re right. Feels so much smoother. Changed my coils and sparks. 73k miles.
Done sparks previously at 35k but first time with the new improved APR coils.

I have tried all the available plugs except for the racing ones(brisk, denso oem and rs7s) and and me and my dragy really didn’t feel any difference, the only ones that felt better was the brisk when I had my GTI but it wasn’t fair because I changed the inlet pipe at the same time, didn’t see any difference in knocks either(up to -1.12 average) was looking to go apr coils and ngk racing plugs but they are not in stock, for now I’m with the denso ihr24 from FCP and will switch them every other oil change. The brisk needed to be change after 4k miles, not looking to do that so I dumped them.
Hey Diego, do you recommend upgrading the coils and plugs even without a tune? Ecs sells an “RS ignition service kit” with the APR packs and the RS7 NGK plugs. Is it worth just doing? I bought it used with 60k. Just wondering if I should changed the whole set up. Thanks in advanced. You’ve helped me a bunch already 👍

Nice video as you usually post. What is the benefit of a colder plug for your application? why aren't the stock spark plugs good enough?
Thanks man! And basically the stock plugs can’t keep up with the added timing and boost so they’ll misfire at higher rpms sometimes.. one step colder allows for more timing boost etc

Yes those are coming up soon for me.. I’m a bit on the fence about the turbo muffler delete only because I’ve heard there’s really not much benefit to it but the discharge pipe absolutely
@@DArias that’s cool.. all I know is the eqt turbo muffler has wider opening than other brands.. I’m running stock I don’t think I’ll be getting it unless I go stage 1 soon I hope

I'm about to go stage one then when I can get the money for the downpipe stage2, then maybe even stage 3 with a bigger turbo, I ordered the Brisk Silver Racing ER10S Spark Plugs, think these are good?
Nice man! And I know some people who run the brisk plugs but the only complaint I’ve heard about them is that they don’t last very long unfortunately so more frequent plug changes
@@DArias yah I emailed Eqt and asked them if they are alright, they said the same thing... How would I know when they need to be replaced?.. I just ordered the oem rs7 plugs just cause I don't want to be changing them again so soon. I might just return the Brisks
Also pulled the trigger on the stage 2 before I even got the stage one and ordered the cts catted downpipe.. just annoying that I gotta buy the tune again for the stage 2
Having trouble disconnecting the harnesses from the coil packs. Already broke one clip.
It’s very tricky sometimes man. Gotta be very careful. Sometimes using a flat head and gently twisting helps
would recommend the rs3 coil packs with the spark plugs
I’ve heard different things personally.. I know many have gone that route but also have talked to people with stock coils at over 500whp.. personally I think I’m gonna install them regardless for peace of mind! Haha
@@DArias im eqt stage 1 and noticed an improvement overall with rs3 coils and also a good preventative maintenacne since the s3 ones fail sooner than dealer recommendation.

Mine is S3 2015 with stage 1+ tuned. do you think I need to gap with .024 too?
If you’re tuned by EQT then yes they recommend .024 but If you’re tuned by another then I would ask them. Typically I see anywhere from .022 -.026 depending on what that specific tuner recommends

.024 should be okay! Maybe even on their website it’ll show the recommend gap just so you’re safe
How much mm is the spark plug ? I cant find a tool that fits

Added these plugs to my S3 a month ago. On Monday, the ground strap on the #3 plug broke off and ran thru my engine. Lowest estimate that I have for a new engine so far is $16,000. I am not the only one. You should do a lot of research before you make this modification.

Actually no! I believe all 4 were around like $80 with shipping and taxes which isn’t awful considering it’s from a high end Audi lol
Just ordered the Beru RS7 plugs off fcp euro for my S3 as well. Do we have to gap them before installing them? I heard we don’t but just want a second opinion lol
Nice! Also just make sure to double check the gap.. many times the plugs already come pre gapped but for example in my case, 2 plugs were good and the other 2 needed to be tapped a bit tighter as they were around .026.. just double check the gap for peace of mind
@@DArias i see, so .024 is the ideal gap. Anything more should be tightened
.024 is ideal if you’re tuned (I assume you are) if you aren’t tuned then I wouldn’t worry about the gap, just pop them in and you’re good to go
@@DArias haha yeah, Unitronic stage 2 ecu & dsg here! I’ve dealt with misfires before and want to prevent any more in the future. Thanks for all the help!

I also have unitronic stage 1+ tune on mine and today had a warning on my car, turned it off and back on and it was okay, checked it with my obd11 and says misfire cyclinder 3, i have stock plugs on mine and only 13k km, drove home and its fine the warning was gone, but might just replace my plugs anyway
