Been driving for about thirty years. If the automatic is done right they are great. I've done enough shifting...
Does someone need to beat it into you? IT'S NOT AN AUTOMATIC. You want an automatic by an Allison.
@@dalelc43 Fair enough but I used to own a Alison. Was a great transmission.
I was trained on a stick shift on the farm but work for a company with all automatics and I’m always reaching for the shifter lol
Shifter is better ol man
I drove a mack with the M drive auto tranny recently pulling a 5 axle dump trailer and that thing was sweet!, very very smooth
I'm not a truck driver...I'm a doctor who loves old italian cars....but this thing is so beautiful!!
Don't have to be a driver to appreciate trucks thats for sure!
You should get you one, you could probably drop cash on it right now
I don’t even drive a truck but I’m watching it because it’s interesting
yep lol
yea its power
I am not even a trucker and here I am, being impressed
Looks fantastic in this color! Also great that they keep up the old look.
Oh wow, this rears are BIG, love it. Just imagine how easy it would pull any piece of equipment. Glad to see this type of setup but little disappointed of why it doesn't come with smart wheel and gear selector under it like those new trucks has. Much love here for classic long hood trucks, they are gorgeous in all ways. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays
That is one tough looking truck. Absolutely beautiful.
Man that is one tough Pete! Never was a fan of the black wheels but I’m beginning to like them. With 5.30 rears that guy is gotta be pulling some serious weight, holy smokes! Nice looking ride Keith.
She's a beauty! That colour is gorgeous!!!
That is by far the heaviest set up truck I've seen personally. Those automatics have come a very long way in a very short time, I remember fielding the first ones and they were God awful. By the time the 2nd generation programming and associated parts came out, they were some of the best automatics I've ever driven that weren't performance built in a car.
Most people can't even drive stick let alone unsyncro transmission setups 😂
And yes, im aware it's an automated manual. Porsche and VW have been doing that for years with PDK transmissions, but we still call those automatics too 😉
Holly cow 36 forward gears, sweet I wish I could afford a truck this Amazing
I spent a couple years in a 386 with a 44” sleeper it’s definitely.....cozy to put it nicely haha. That is an amazing machine hopefully it puts in many years of trouble free service for the owner
Ive never wanted a semi truck before this beauty!
Great color! Beautiful
Driver since 030595. I love my automatic, 2018, Pete 579. Especially in stop n go traffic
George
You have that right. With all the Traffic that keeps building on roadways, unless you only Drive at 3AM the City's are all stop and go traffic. If anyone believe that helps a Clutch no matter how well built thay are. It still heats up more than it should. Guys just love shifting a Big rig. To do it without grinding that's music to a truckers ears, and EGO.

Another great video, thank you Keith and happy holidays to you and yours. Do some other types of trucks besides the square hood. It's nice to see what else is running up-and-down the road and what kind of gears they have
I will try to do that. Most of what I sell is 389's but I will try to show others as well.
I would like to have seen that truck driving so we could see how the gearbox worked and even felt. Great truck and video.
if its anything like the automated manual trucks i've driven they're great. They shift about as quick or quicker than you can shift and usually you have a manual mode to pick your own gears if you prefer it like that.
Nice truck Keith! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks, you too!
Love it te Peterbilts you show. I wish I can afford one
Nice set up’s Keith. Always like to see what your putting out.
Merry Christmas to you & your family. Les, Waipapa , 🇳🇿
Thank you sir! I appreciate you watching!
Wow what a beautiful heavy Pete , absolutely love it 😍
You are killing it with your customs- Your on your way!!! Will order from you when I'm ready in 2023... Happy Holidays to you👍👍👍
By then money will not be in use anymore. By then A.I will have taken over and everything is in singularity thus, no need for anyone to be driving as semis will be on the grip and self driven by powerful computers.
Man wake out if your sleep!
@@williamkunte5361 bruh, it’s 3 years from now, ai ain’t taking over, that’s 2050’s stuff, this ain’t no sci fi movie 😂, we bout to be in 2021, ain’t non happening.
john madison hopefully you like aero dynamic trucks... all that will be available in a couple years.
@@rockhaller3899 well ofc, but their also a possibility for better economy trucks like cars have better fuel economy to help the environment. Ik it’s an idiot move to compare a car to a semi truck, but....
@@lawofjay2246 ....and all that eco crap produces an engine that is not reliable. Just put that fee cent a mile you don't spend on fuel into the repair account....because you will need it
3:50 3:57 is about the best noise in this video and in the world!! That beautiful non def, non emission truck sounds will be missed by those who drove them and some may never know the feel.
That has a ad blue tank on it
Wow what a tank!!!! I can sure tell some of the things on this truck that Doug and I would agree on !!! long wheel base, train track for the fifth wheel, grab bars on the back of the sleeper , full gauges, very cool truck except the wheels ,don't care for black , Happy New Year Keith!
Another gorgeous grey beauty! Just when the greys couldn’t get any better BOOM!
Beautiful truck. Nicely spec’d 👍
I absolutely love the look of her!!
Another great presentation Keith of the Peterbilt product not an ordinary truck this one very heavy duty specs. and a great colour i am starting to like the black wheels . Keep giving us the guided tours i find them very worthwhile.
Thank you for taking your time to watch. I appreciate it! Where are you from???
Awesome looking truck!! Thanks for sharing, I love the 389s. Liked and subscribed to help support your channel.
That is a sick looking rig!
A drive to show how the automatic works would be nice...
just like a regular eaton manual without shifting. has a computer and air valves where the shift tower would be that shifts and applies the clutch for you. not anything like an auto. allison makes an automatic, but the eaton is “automated”...
@@dylaningle8204 Ah, sorry for that. I am from Europe, a transmission like that is overhere not called automatic, but robotised....
@@dylaningle8204 must be expensive to fix geez
Looks really nice
Beautiful truck man !
That’s a really really good looking truck. Some lucky person is gonna “hopefully” make some money with them.
Automatics are junk.
When I was in the army in the 80s we had automatics in our big trucks that we hauled D8 dozers with. Nice trucks by the way. Unfortunately I used to be a mechanic and all I see is how hard "this" or "that" would be to fix. I do that with any vehicle I see.
I absolutely love this non-metallic gray with the black wheels. My cousin just did this color set up on his rig but got rid of all his chrome for flat black pipes, breather, steps, and bumper. I didn’t like it at first but man it looks tough with the flat black. Not to sure about having an automatic... ouch
I started driving doing long haul back in the early -1990's and retired circa 2002. I'm totally amazed and blown away by how far modern-day 21st century 'big truck' technology has advanced, progressed and changed compared to the trucks that I drove back in the '90's. Compared to the first truck that I owned back then - a used and previously built as working show truck - '87 FLC 120 Freightliner, this beautiful and luxurious Pete is like a CADILLAC!
I grew up driving a GMC General and a GMC Astro 95....both with 8V92 Detroits in them! These are completely different!!!!!!
@@RockyMountainPeterbilts I'm no truck driver, but wonder can a independent owner afford 1 of these & still make $$$$$ ????? or just big company's?
Gorgeous looking truck!!
I feel a career change coming after this. 😎🖤🖤🖤
Nice truck Great color and love those black wheels. European truck manufacturer's have been using automatic transmission on Heavy haul trucks for a number of years now . most trucks are auto a friend of mine has a Top of the range Scania v8 for fridge work every think is controlled from little storks on the steering wheel column. Take care everyone and Happy Holidays.
Don't got my CDL but I sure as hell want this beauty in my garage
that is one nice truck , my work rig is a Volvo FM 540 - with i-shift , love it
You are from South Africa 🇿🇦? Which place and what’s your name?
My two cents. Put a few videos out of the trucks being put together and a periodic shop tour. Peterbilt dealers are far between, it’d be neat to see what happen behind the scenes.
Oh heck yeah that would be sweet to see some of the top trucks in the world 🌎 be built 👍🏻👌🏻
Thanks for showing the inside of the cab
Any time!
I’ve watched this so many times in the past week. I want this truck! 🤤
That is one clean looking truck.
Love a well built truck, the longer I watched the more I liked
👍🇨🇦👍
My god that thing is gorgeous.
Beautiful truck
I prefer a manual but anyone who says an automated manual can’t handle and do what a manual does has never driven one
Do you have amy Freightliner. or any classsic
I hit bell
They make it too easy to get in trouble if you don’t know what you’re doing. Especially on grades with load.
And there's nobody on earth that can downshift and slow a truck faster than a computer
Lol... I've driven automatics.. absolute garbage! Good luck with that clutch overheat code, and no starts with the truck not in "neutral" Ill stick to a manual, the way its supposed to be.
That IS a Heavy Truck isn't it . Love the Wheels . Beautiful .
Can't even imagine what that real estate must cost.
One badass heavy hauler.
Wow! What a beautiful beast
Sweet ride man
Outstanding truck !!
i love that color combo. work truck! never seen an automatic.....
Automatics (or automated) have come a long ways. Handy in heavy traffic. Wished you took the truck for a drive though.
Nice video. keep them coming.
More to come!
My god that truck looks good
Bad ass truck. I just love it
Love the wheels
Next time take a lap around the parking lot or something, would like to see how everything works! GREAT TRUCK. LOVE THE VIDEO!
Beautiful truck.
Beautiful machine
That color is beautiful! I never liked black wheels but on that it looks good. I still don't like that thing between the seats.
I think the wheels are frigging sick and nice to see modern styling. I'm a manager st a commercial tire shop and I will say, having to take bars to change them tires off those wheels I would be scared SHITLESS lol
Very nice truck... I like the dash
That’s beautiful!
oof that snail is huge! I love it
Beautiful truck!
Thanks.
Glad you like it!
That's the snow runner ix wreker 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 peter built
beautiful truck
I LOVE THAT SLEEPER❤❤
That’s a really nice truck
BEAUTIFUL. Automated - Good for new drivers.
Nice looking truck.
This is a real truck, beautiful love that is a automatic
Awesome truck.
Holy smokes, what a beautiful beast she is!
Awesome truck!
Thanks 👍
Love the chatter of an X15
No words to explain ❤️
It's awesome ❤️❤️
Glad you like it
That truck is real nice. 👌
Absolutely love that color, from australia.
I'm from Brisbane Australia. An incredible truck I like the grey too. Powershift autos are as you can change down manually on the quadrant.
That rear end is huge
Absolutely love the colour of this truck, I'd take it one step further and do a red frame would just set that combo off, question for ya have you guys ever done the progressive 18-22 rate front springs and if so, do you have any feedback on that setup.
Awesome videos keep them coming.
Love them black rims
I’m not a trucker but damn that’s a good looking rig!
Every now and then i come back and watch it again.
Some people wanna be rich to biy lambos of what ever super cars. Im gonna be rich and buy whole lot of this beautiful amazing looking beast ❤️😴
When the fuel tanks don't equalize correctly a lot of times it means one of the lines is sucking air somewhere.
It can also be as simple as a plug breather hose on the tank. I started checking them regularly after one of our trucks died half way up a steep hill ended up bleeding it on the side of the road and it would fire up run for a minute and die again so then towed it to the truck stop and noticed one tank was empty and the other was about half.
My balls do that sometimes.
beautiful, I love these US Trucks
Awesome truck
Beautiful rig i love it
Nice truck. Wasn’t a fan of automatic but good in heavy traffic. Happy New Year
Happy new year!
I love this truck, it is beautifully put together, I feel like the fender trim and chrome accessories clash a bit tho, if your wheels and fenders are black, all that chrome would look phenomenal if it was matching black against that gray. Just my preference this truck is still beautiful!
It’s been a while since I’ve driven a Pete. Don’t know if they still do this but my biggest complaint about them is the floor mounted clutch pedal. So for me the automatic is a big bonus.
God this is the truck I'd get if I went into trucking
Perfect for Hauling my Dry Van with some general freight 👌
Don't see that everyday. Damm that's a sharp truck!
