I love the spread and the long 5th wheel slide. I also agree with the heavy axle with the pumps. This is a real nice heavy duty haul tractor. The pusher axle is perfect with the super single. A truck after my own heart ,18sp with a 4sp auxiliary, no 2sp rear? Does the front tires extend out past the front fenders? I'm a big fan of your special order trucks.
The 60 inch spread is Ontario spec's, if you want to have enough axle capacity in BC go with 69,000lb tri drive, in Alberta they run Sisu axles in tri drive.
Tandem Sisus and a 4 speed aux. What I have in my 08 389.But mine was built by me in my shop. Dealer wasn't interested in building mine the way I wanted/needed it.
Next one he builds will have three sticks.Main transmission with two auxiliaries.I saw the same B model Mack at a couple of truck shows here in Pa.If I remember right the owner said it had a 5 x 4 x 4 from the factory.The main trans and the first auxiliary were bolted together then a driveshaft to the second auxiliary which was mounted at least 3ft. behind the cab.If that doesn't make a truck driver out of you nothing will.
Steve, did you get the dry weight before she left??? The over/under must be right around 25k. As a side, I love the bull hauler stacks that point straight back.
I need the part # for those mirror brackets please. And the best option I got on my new truck was wire braided chassis hoses. Best thing ever truck will hold 120psi for 3 or 4 days.

Steve, you sure they installed the 15” air cleaners? They look like 13 inch. I just removed 13’s off my truck and installed 15”. Much wider obviously and also taller. They extend down below the cab body. Which the ones don’t on this truck
If you deal with Michigan you'll get to deal with the way our state does axle weight after 5 axles and/or over 80k, oh also measurements axle center to center

So do you buy these trucks from Peterbilt and then do them up with the extras for customers? Or do you work with Peterbilt and handle final assembly/delivery?
18 speed with a 4 speed alternate. The 4 speed is like have 4 different differentials you can runout 18 speeds in. Great for long hill climbs with super heavy loads where you get the odd reduction in grades and can pick up a couple of gears that you wouldn’t be able to do with a str8 18 speed.
So this is not the Peterbuilt factory what is it a rebuilding outfit? I'm obviously not a truck guy but I dig them. If I was really rich I'd have one just to drive once in a while. I've never even been in one of these but curious what the cost is?
You said Cummins X15 605 HP? But Peterbilt’s catalogue has offering of Paccar engine only and that too less power and torque ratings than the X15. Plz give more info about customised equipment. I m curious to know.
Do you guys spec heavier than this in the states? From what ive seen 46,000lb rears are big over there. Standard spec in Aus for a "heavy haul" roadtrain/float truck would be 52,000lb rear and if we want heavy duty we go 6 rod springs over bags. Rated GCM of a truck like that would be 310,000lb in your money.

So all the comments on 72 gears being "too much" or picturing running from 1 to 72.... I never drove a set up like that but I see it as multiple ranges for a wide variety of conditions. Deep down torque for an oil field combined with 75 MPH cruze on the interstate to get it there. The old 15 Road rangers had deep reduction. You could use all 5 deep reduction gears delivering on a construction site. Or if pulling away with a heavy load rin 1, 2, 3 in deep reduction. Then shift up into low but then you would go back to 2 low... and even then you needed to blip the throtte a bit to match revs because it was only a 1/2 gear up....
Sam, 72” Axle Spacing Is (off the top of my head) the Largest Axle Spread on a Hendrickson or Neway Heavy Haul Suspension, and I believe that is the Same on Peterbilt’s Air Trac Suspension. A 72” Axle Spacings is a “True Canadian Spread”, 60” Axle Spacing is known as a “California Spread” or “West Coast” Axle Spacing.
Basic heavy haul spec is 46k lbs axles. From there it's options to add to it like double frame or a tag axle. All but 1 of my trucks are heavy haul spec. And we made it heavy haul to keep them the same. But running tru axle dumps we have to have it to haul the weight.
All good except for the cumapart engine under the hood. Cat has got to come back to the heavy road truck market again. I've always been a Detroit or cat fan

I have done some 52 rears but our road and bridge laws are so different from yours is why you dont see many

You mean on the fender, wheels, ( rim & tire) are attached to axle.
