Thank you kindly Nev for an excellent podcast. It has been over ten years since I went Squid Fishing or since I did any fishing at all. I picked up several tips from your programme, and now I am enthusiastic as anything to get out there, now that I am retired. What else can a 77 year old do other than to pursue my love of fishing. Cheers mate.

My first set up was the shimano sephia bb rod and stradic c14 2500 reel. I didnt like the rod after I bought it because it wasn't flex enough,I found it hard to control the jig, so upgraded to a yamashita egido which is definitely better and more expensive, looking to upgrade the reel to possibly the daiwa emeraldas air with double handle as well. Or maybe the sephia c14 plus egi reel...

I am also a Nev who actually talked with you on the phone one day whilst you were at dads and I had called him to try organise a fish with him. Maybe you won’t remember but I still think you’re a bloody legend, I’m pretty sure I’ve just about seen most of your videos through your RUclips channel and I have been very impressed by what your able to do in that Kayak of yours. I’m going to be a land based fisher and I’ve seen most of your videos on that field and I can’t wait till I can get out to give it a go. I’m hoping that your dad will give me a call to go fishing in his boat one day soon, any fishing would be great. All the best for your future yours Nev.

Hi Nev, just moved into the area so will be a local and love calamari, so will want to catch heaps. Obviously have a lot to learn about them, times, tides, water etc. Would love to get some of those jigs. Do you get them from the local fish tackle shop. Been watching your videos and have subscribed to your channel and identified some of the places you fish at. I also keen to do soft plastics for the flatties on the big sand bar at low tide near your pier.
Do you do any on surf fishing in the area for Salmon.?
