Like your work fish boy, but PLEASE give people some idea of the locations you are fishing. You don't have to be specific, like the last bay at Red Point next to the quarry where our old cabins used to be with the fresh water spring, (wink wink), but just a general idea of the location, especially for people overseas.
Hi mates, I live 3 miles from DISNEYLAND in Anaheim Ca. I am fascinated with HUMBOLT SQUID, has anybody heard of catching HUMBOLTS from shore, (like Nev does), or Charter BOATS, any comments would be appreciated,.. Lastly Nev how do you cook your catch-harvest, GREAT vids, Thanks Steveo.
Hi Nev, I am a little confused about the sinker weight and float size. In your case, do you want the jig sinking to the bottom, or stop in the halfway because of the float?
Do you use braided or mono? If you use braided, how do you get it from birds nesting all the time? I have 20lb on my spool, and just about every other cast I can guarantee a birds nest. It’s quite the nuisance.
Fantastic video! May I know what eging you used? Is it yamashita? Do you use shallow, basic or deep type for eging? By the way am from Singapore love your videos, will try your method!!
Nev You are a legend! I chase squid in Botany bay all the time and its hit and miss! never thought of trying land based from the beach! real nice catch mate
Hey mate! New sub here from Sydney. Can you do a Kayak vid and things to look out for when wanting to purchase one? I really want to get into kayak fishing because of you haha.
Hey Nev good sesh! Do you guys reckon it’s alright to use mono line as the main line then use a float with a stopper directly? Or much better to use braid as main line. Cheers
@@NevsFishing thanks for that tip, i was wondering that too, but didn't think of the leader determining the depth. I 've never caught a squid in Westernport but i will give it a go again. Try also Anderson. great videos.
Awesome video with all this wind around I’m wondering if it’s worth trying for land based squid the only question I have is what is the water depth like there where your fishing ? Northern Ppb is pretty shallow Sick video keep them coming
It is me first to see the show my dear son
Follow u from my heart
Well done my son
Don’t forget to explain and make a night squid fishing
Thanks mate! I will for sure make a night squid fishing video in the future!
Hey Nev one question do you use a float stopper and of so what sort of depth do you set the stopper for ? Cheers Mate love you videos

Get you a duck lure and go after some Aussie monsters. Lots of people would love that video.

Great video mate 👍 question, how long is the leader beneath the float? Or from swivel to jig? Cheers
1-2 meters
What Spot?
Holy shit mate that's huge
The kraken hahah
Mate those 2 are very decent, might have to try off the beach one day and have a crack. Great run down aswell 🤙
Beautiful beach, nice catch.

I really enjoy your informative videos mate. Just starting squidding myself in WA. Keep up the great work!
Super happy you enjoy! Hopefully a couple of my tips will help you to catch a squid in WA. Cheers and good luck.
nah thats too big to be called a squid its the kraken
That’s one huge squid. Lol
I'm surprised at the line you suggested - I'd always heard 10lb was about right, but maybe that's for jetty or boat fishing?

I'm not sure if it's possible to catch fish on a beach with big waves.
The best fisho guru!

G'day mate, new sub here. Glad I found your channel. How long do you run your jig from the float generally when beach fishing?
It depends on the tide, sometimes 1.5 foot, up to 6 foot
great video mate, definitely inspired me to try some squid fishing off the beach next time.
Glad to hear that mate, cheers and glad you enjoyed
Nice one nev. I’m going fishing.
How do you know that the squid is on the line?
The float will be pulled under and you wont be able to see it
Great video Nev, after watching all your squid videos I finally caught my first squid and it’s on my channel if you wanna check it out! 🤙🏽

@@fintanheriot345 haha dammit
Great videos
Hi Nev, I am a little confused about the sinker weight and float size. In your case, do you want the jig sinking to the bottom, or stop in the halfway because of the float?
You want the float to suspend the jig CLOSE to the bottom. The sinker just makes sure the jig is not wafting in the current
@@NevsFishing so is the sinker sitting directly on the jig?
Good to watch but it's not really a beach as such is it.
Great vid, can’t wait to fish there after exams
Do you use braided or mono? If you use braided, how do you get it from birds nesting all the time? I have 20lb on my spool, and just about every other cast I can guarantee a birds nest. It’s quite the nuisance.
I use braid, maybe your spooling it incorrectly or over spooling?
Nice to see my name on that rock haha :)
love your videos

Fantastic video! May I know what eging you used? Is it yamashita? Do you use shallow, basic or deep type for eging? By the way am from Singapore love your videos, will try your method!!

You are a legend!
I chase squid in Botany bay all the time and its hit and miss! never thought of trying land based from the beach! real nice catch mate
Have you tried for squid at Brighton?
What if you dont have a sandy beach , can you use this method on rocky beach?
Never tried on a rocky beach, not too sure
That wasn’t a squid mate that was a horse hahaha great video 👍🏼
Hahah thank you mate!
Hi Nice video,do you put a stopper above the float?
Yes I do!
Hey mate! New sub here from Sydney. Can you do a Kayak vid and things to look out for when wanting to purchase one? I really want to get into kayak fishing because of you haha.
Yes I can, got a kayak setup tour in the works. Hopefully that video will help!

Great Video Nev perfectly explained. which area where u fishing in this area in this video off the beach How To Catch Squid Off The Beach. cheers Nev
Nice vid mate. How do you set the depth of your jig?
I have a little float stopper which I use to set float depth
a unique way of fishing for squid, friend, I will try
Awesome
BFF
Hope to catch some with your tips..nothing more embarrassing than people around you pulling in one after another whilst you catch..nothing.
Doesn’t the float come in with the current ? Or you shouldn’t go squidding when there’s lots of waves ?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
what part of Phillip island is this?
Cowes area
😁🤘🐠
Another killa vid keep it up
Appreciate it mate! 👍
What size float / sinker and jig are you using ? Could you please put all these info in your descriptions. Thanks for videos. Love it.
waters looking nice !
Yeah, waters beautiful at the moment
hey mate, how deep normally you set your stopper for the float? 1metre? assuming we are fishing from rock platform or beach
Hey Nev good sesh! Do you guys reckon it’s alright to use mono line as the main line then use a float with a stopper directly? Or much better to use braid as main line. Cheers
Either will work just fine mate, I know plenty of gun squid fishos who just use mono.
@@NevsFishing thanks for taking your time to respond. Love your channel!! Cheers
Blue eye level!! How wonderful. I've never seen it 😮😮
Would love to try catching squid here in NZ. Is there anyone on this thread caught any here?
I noticed you didn't loop the line around the float like you usually do, is that so the float goes all the way up to the end of the leader?
Exactly right, the float runs to the leader knot or stopper👍
@@NevsFishing thanks for that tip, i was wondering that too, but didn't think of the leader determining the depth.
I 've never caught a squid in Westernport but i will give it a go again. Try also Anderson. great videos.
Will this work with waves coming in or just calm water
I'm in between of this video and need to comment now, because it is sooo great episode to watch and learn.. huge thanks bud for this one!
Hey mate, do you reckon I need a big rod or can I just use a small whiting rod off on the weed?
Such a nice spot for it man! Beautiful clear waters and nice bottom 🦑
Yeah mate cant ask for much more, squid are a bonus 😁
@@NevsFishing is that in port Phillip bay or western port bay
Hey mate, maybe dumb question but how does the float go under if its free moving up and down the line
Love your vids mate, but the bloody commercials give me the shits
