Brilliant! So many projects fail, but we don't take the time to really address the WHY!!! This has been super helpful, thanks for collating the list!

I feel more projects would be successful if the project managers and team members were all educated on why projects can fail in the first place. This isn't to say that all projects would be 100% successful all the time but knowing why before you start is beneficial :) Thanks for watching, Cheers!

My project hasn't failed yet, but it's on life support because I am a non-project manager who was not clear on scope, timing, deliverables, nothing at all. I've been asked to explain why the timing has taken months and the solution is just about to get developed. Looking back to when this was assigned to me, I know I tried to gather the information from the person who assigned me the project but the individua's response was "I don't know, you have to figure it out" , so that's what I thought I needed to do and I was so anxious because typically I'm a subject matter expert and thought I needed to be the SME for what I was trying to deliver, therefore didn't interview my SMEs at all, it has been a nightmare! Throughout the project, I have also invested so much time and effort to learn about PM formally through my employer's learning system, but the content is not practical. Thank GOD for RUclips!! Your content is so practical and real-world, it has just clicked. You are 1 of my top 3 go-to RUclips channels for PM tips and advice. I can't invest in your Slay course now, but definitely want to plan for it in the near future. Your content has been a blessing for me, thank YOU!!!

    • @AdrianaGirdler

Absolutely. Just be prepared and have everything ready for them....charter, expectations, central location for all documents, etc. This is so critical at the kickoff meeting as it sets the tone and people appreciate it.
I also will ensure at long meeting I provide good food. 😀 it works!

Can I ask you ma'am.. if you are going to need the support of other to deliver the project or to help you" network" in the community ( either the whole community, or individuals within it) then getting them to input and help shape your project may foster more support for the project in the future.

I agree... with the communication point.. If there is poor communication .. or If your project manager is not doing enough meetings to keep everyone in the loop.. on that particular project your working on.. its the worst... or that manager ... has their favourite apps and websites but they dont even Think .. oh maybe that website or app.. doesnt suit everyone Else... because they Think all their choices are correct .. so frustrating when they Think they have all the answers and on top of that.. they are Extremely controlling

I say most project fail, because many companies way to confident about theirs requirements, requirements change and to figure it out what is important and not important is hard, this way you need to have a external consultants to make sure that you do the right stuff, consultans would work like early failure prediction system, but companies say we dont have money for that, well they earned the failure yeah ha!
