To the neigh sayers about Futaba helping during battle, it is pure RNG on whether or not she actually does help, and like you said, it is primarily a time saver, I went through an entire fight with Shido before and she literally only used 1 Marakunda. I am wondering if having Debiltate on Bicorn could have helped to make Yaldabaoth easier, may have made getting past the Holy Grail a little quicker too.
Wow it sounds like you got super unlucky with Futaba xD Yeah Debilitate is a great skill but due to the 3 turn expiry it would need to be: 1. Heat Riser, 2. Debilitate, 3. Attack or heal. So only 1 out of every 3 actions would help us advance the fight. I might be missing something obvious though :P
Gotta say dude, Great video. You've got some great energy and tempo and you can really see the effort you've put into this challenge. Condensing a 100+ average hour RPG into an hour long video WHILE doing a challenge run is a challenge in itself and you've done amazing work here.
My completion time for P5R was 100:00 and I will preserve that save for all eternity. 100 hours of probably my favourite megaten game so far. It's just so good
Not sure if you are doing suggestions, but since P3P is on consoles, I would love to see another of these “single persona” runs in that game, or perhaps even a “ladies only” in P3P, using the female protag and only female party members in battle.

Playing through Persona 5 Royal on Switch on new game hard for the first time after 1000 hours between Vanilla and Royal on PS4, I’ve realised how broken technical damage is! Honestly it’s better than hitting weaknesses most of the time, I have Dormina on every one Joker’s Personas!
Fun run, although it looked super frustrating. Seeing you get killed repeatedly by Wakaba reminded me of the first time I fought shadow Teddy while seriously underleveled in P4 and kept getting one shotted by Nihil Hand. Died about 30 times before I finally decided to roll it back a week to grind. Good times...
I just recently beat P5R on hard mode for the first time , this makes me want to play on merciless! I love the amount of strategy that harder difficulties add, but I hate the EXP & money penalty in a lot of games on hard/etc mode. It’s one of the things I enjoy so much about this game is that it doesn’t penalize you.
I am rewatching this and I noticed something else besides the Maderame Will seed accessory trick for the Maderame fight I mentioned half a year ago. The Sphinx has a secret phys and gun weakness, with both doing much more damage to her than usual but not counting as a weakness for the one more So, he is my idea to make the fight against her easier on solo. Itemize during an alarm Shiki Oji for triple down and fuse the lvl 38 chariot persona “white rider”, itemize white rider once during an alarm and once without for gun boost and gun amp, combined with the null dizzy accessory from the air soft shop, it should take care of Wakaba’s two biggest hurdles, the dizzy technical and the Medigo DPS check
Your vids have actually inspired me to try some challenge runs of my own once i finish my current playthrough of royal. Gonna try just a just arsene only run though wont be solo, gonna get a feel of merciless before i try it solo.
I think ab interesting persona run would be P3 potable sole run. If you play Kingdom Hearts. A run I did that was fun, was I took three trophy challenge all in one go. So I couldn't used continues, I could not change my equipment, and I had to beat the game in 15 hours. So I added that I had to try and get as much stuff done in those 15 hours. So beat every world, clearing the coliseum, and getting the ultimate weapon.
It was hard to tell what was going on with the battles playing at blinding speed, but I think if you used Haru's Charge/Concentrate items you could have done damage faster. I couldn't tell if you were doing that. Also going into the final phase of Yaldabaoth with charge and concentrate set up will make it easier to stop Rays of Control. Alternatively you can use Enduring Soul to survive Rays of Control. For the 2nd palace you can get Diplomacy from Yoshida. There is an enemy in Madarame's palace that is weak to gun and not very threatening, I think it was Onmariki which makes getting all the money you need for better moves in the 2nd and 3rd palace a bit easier.
Good tips here - Haru's plants come in VERY handy in the next upcoming challenge run (released next weekend)! ^^ Sorry for the fast speed - I'm trying to keep these videos under an hour, so it's either we speed up the footage or else massive chunks will need to get cut out.
Really liked the video man. But you should really work on the audio between your voice and the background music being almost at the same level us a bit jarring
I honestly don’t blame you at all for the major grind session before okumura. I’m really not a big fan of the boss changes in Royal, and I feel like they actively made most of the boss fights worse/annoying.okumura’s is just the most extreme example of that
True. I don't think our Death rank was high enough by that point though, I think she unlocks the ointments at something crazy like Rank 7, but feel free to correct me on that one.
Sadly Repel Phys isn't available until you can fuse & itemise a Chi You, which comes much later in the game. Repel Wind also comes a bit later, I think... Unless you know of any other way of getting them earlier? Would love to hear suggestions! :)
If you did not use what was in the Velvet room how would you have even beat this Bicorn with near base stats gear from drops and rewards only very limited skill card choice it would be impossible to solo the game with party members its doable though since the team mates in P5 are quite good
Im currently doing a ryuji only semi challenge on NG+ Wakaba was really easy because she only has phys n wind skills as far as i knew, so i brought 99 phys n magic ointments to repel wakaba to death I didnt even know wakaba had megidolaon at all, thats wack
Correct me if I'm wrong but gallows fusion isn't capped to one a day IF you use a yellow persona in an alarm, I remember getting my arsene to 99 all stats pre okumera in one day(he was level 55 also). Unless they patched it.
i have around 300 hours in both p5 and p5r combined, and i have never seen that being sucked through the floor thing. huh. very weird. no idea if its a royal addition or not.

10 mins in, and I realize, why didn’t you just use the Kamoshida Will seed accessory for the kamoshida fight? Without the Jose boost it still nullifies all weaknesses if I remember correctly
"futaba's impact on fights is never essential" me, fighting the second NG+ superboss, watching futaba's ultimate support activate for the 4th time this fight, singlehandedly saving me: though that's more on ultimate support for being broken lmao it basically acts as a mix of a bunch of the most overpowered skills in the entire game all at once cast on everyone with no turn or sp cost Also, fusion alarms bypass the daily hanging limit, whether or not you're in Mementos
the gallows arent limited to where you are but if you hang in alarm or not. a persona that benefits from gallows outside the alarm either needs to be resummoned or a day needs to pass to benefit again
@@RPGchallengeruns I thought it healed more times than that when I tried; the only way I was able to beat it was using DLC (I don't have the Royal-exclusive DLC on PS4, but I still managed with Kaguya Picaro).
The only time Futaba changes the game is when you have her Rank 10 & when she casts heat riser... That's it. Idk how people see a forced indirect party member as cheating

Did you know that you can block Nihil Hand completely by simply guarding the turn before it hits?

Very true! In Persona 4 there are heavy XP and money penalties foe harder difficulties and it becomes very grindy!

me, fighting the second NG+ superboss, watching futaba's ultimate support activate for the 4th time this fight, singlehandedly saving me:
though that's more on ultimate support for being broken lmao
it basically acts as a mix of a bunch of the most overpowered skills in the entire game all at once cast on everyone with no turn or sp cost
Also, fusion alarms bypass the daily hanging limit, whether or not you're in Mementos
the gallows arent limited to where you are but if you hang in alarm or not.
a persona that benefits from gallows outside the alarm either needs to be resummoned or a day needs to pass to benefit again
Ah right. I always just assumed that Mementos = unlimited gallows, whereas a day in a palace = 1 use of gallows.
@@RPGchallengeruns nah its alarm based. its just in palaces you usually dont farm many alarms since the focus is the progression and all.

Potentially yes! Repel Wind normally comes a bit later though and of course Repel Phys isn't available until obtaining Chi You much later. :)

How many times did the Holy Grail heal before apparently giving up? I haven't been patient enough to try to wait it out myself...
2 or 3, I believe.
I'm not sure if it heals infinitely in the original vanilla version of P5 though.

@@RPGchallengeruns I thought it healed more times than that when I tried; the only way I was able to beat it was using DLC (I don't have the Royal-exclusive DLC on PS4, but I still managed with Kaguya Picaro).

@@RPGchallengeruns to be honest, being 99 all stats quite literally takes the challenge out of the namesake even if it’s an intended game mechanic. You strengthened a bicorn to have higher stats than literal Satanael. Everything is basically a joke at that point. It’s your own channel and video anyways
