I hate to ask the obvious question, but how much did this cost? I would love to have one of these this is a big worry of mine that if the power goes out we can't get water out of our well. Thank you very much for this video and hopefully you will answer me back.
From their website: idahohandpump.com/idaho-installs/faq/ For a single installation in Southeast Idaho the cost is $275 for the first 100 ft plus $1 per foot deeper than 100. We offer a $50 discount when neighbors get together and form a group to be installed on the same day. It allows us to spend our time installing instead of driving. We think it will be worth your time. Call for details.
Good stuff. I like this setup. I have a Aqua poacher portable that will fit into my bugout bag. It will fit any well without removing the pipe or electric but the draw back is it only draws about a third of a gallon per pull.
@@LDSPrepper I'm definitely going to look into this one for the home.. with this I could tell the neighbors to help themselves without having to manually pull for them or loan them my little Aqua poacher. Besides, 2 is 1. Thanks for the great tip/video
I would use a high quality woven Mason's line not the three strand Twisted together sort. Put a small weight on it with a float. A 1 oz weight to pull the line down and a long thin tapered float to stop it at the water level and not snag on anything in the well. Test the weight and float in a bucket of water. Make sure that you know how to tie a knot that will not come loose. When it reaches the water level tie a permanent knot in the string and pull it all out to measure the length. Use a 3 ft long board to wrap the string around end to end and count the number of wraps you make as you pull the line out of the well. A job more easily done with two people. Be sure to turn off the well pump when you do that you do not want the string to get sucked into the well pump. Or have an insured well installer do the same thing for you.
@@LDSPrepper How do I get it installed? Can any well drilling company install them? My well is 200' and I recently had it re-done - 2 months ago. I asked them about installing a hand pump and they said it was too deep
@@michaeldunwoody3629 Here is their do it yourself installation video. You can do it or have someone do it for you. This will definitely go 200 feet deep. idahohandpump.com/pump-kit/installation-instructions/
She did mine 4 years ago. I love it. Everyone should have this setup. Thanks for sharing
Awesome! I'm glad I have mine too!
Thanks for posting. I have a permanent one installed. But I’m always helping other people find this stuff! 🥰
It is a feeling of peace and security having one for sure.

We bought a Bison pump in case of no electricity! Well know company. They ship it and we did it ourselves.

David can you do a video on how to use this hand pump in the winter without it freezing and breaking incase the power goes out?
I've been thinking of this for awhile, an looking at different ways of doing this, your vid was spot on, thx
I'm glad this was helpful. Thank you for viewing and commenting.
Very nice setup 👍🏻👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏾🧐🧐🧐I would of put in a solar submersible pump by gronfus.the sqflek....then the hmnd option 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🧐
Hi David,
Can this one pump from 300’ like the Bison, Simple & Baker Hughes?

Excellent. This too works without removing the pipe or electric.

That's great, the frost proof weep hole is genius.
Nice!!!! I had thought electric was required for wells that deep.
This fits in with the electric one in the same well head.
Deep hand pumps push up from the bottom.
Super cool. Nowhere near the area. Got a link for the parts?
I have the stainless 100ft in my cart. Right now we only have the electric pump in our well.
Do you still recommend Flojack?
Very interesting! I just had a different deep well hand pump installed today. Good to see additional options out there!
I'm glad you got one installed. Good job.
Does the pump send water into your home to use like an electric well does, or does it have a separate spigot outside to access the water?
The spigot is outside on the well head.
Look up Simple Hand Pump made in Nevada it can lift water up to 340ft
First time having well water . This sucks being with out water
I wish I could have a well.
Best I can have now is rain water collection.
I'm guessing the Appalachian Mountains is a little too far for them ... I wish I could find a company like theirs around me!
Not too far. They ship the DIY kit nation-wide.
I was just looking up manual hand well pumps today In Tennessee. How timely
Can it work in tandem with the electric pump already used.
Yes, I'm sorry that was not clear in the video. She installed it in the well where the electric pump is installed.
What is the diameter of the pic that is used?
Love it. I wish I had known Bout this before I bought a water boy.
Well, now you can help spread the word.
This is great! Do you have a video on your potato diet??
Thank you. Yes, here's the video on how I lost 26 lbs. in 6 weeks eating potatoes. ruclips.net/video/osYCfNxwDbs/видео.html
I can see the hand pump is easy to install, but if you don't have a well drilled yet, you have to add that too. :( That is what I want to know about.
Correct Marc. You need to have a well already dug in order to add the hand pump. This is designed to go along side the electric well pump.
What’s the approx cost?
$300.00 Bucks
I'm considering this very thing. Just not close enough. To call her.
They ship the hand well pump nation wide.
We have checked this out, but our well is in the basement. What is the easiest way to measure how deep it is?
I don't know the easiest way but you might call the company that installed it our check with the county water district.

Wait a minute I thought this was David Gilmore known as the great guitarist from Pink Floyd 😂. Great video thank you!
Does anyone know of a company like this in Northeast alabama? Near Huntsville.
They will ship it to you anywhere in the US.
