Housing shortages are due to excessive regulations and fees placed on developers. From the time a developer buys a piece of land, It now takes years before they even begin work. That is all due to government regulations.

Rental evictions are at an all-time high, too. Landlords are evicting and then demanding high-dollar resolution on the remainder of the lease, so the eviction is remaining on one's credit records and they are unable to rent anywhere else until the eviction is resolved. There should be a monetary limit on the amount an eviction can cost (i.e., unpaid rent and one additional month and not the entire remainder of the lease). Also, an eviction from a previous residence should not equate to an automatic denial on a new rental application.

Let us pray that everyone who is educated and hardworking in your family continues to keep their job and that they're not hit with cancer or some life debilitating crises or circumstance that hinders them from paying their rent. I understand how you personally feel. But some people suffer when disasters happen. We can also pray to be more compassionate. I'm not talking about a long history of evictions I'm talking about a circumstance that causes sudden homelessness for instance when a landlord goes to renew a lease and they raise the rent $500 and then that person can't keep up and it causes an eviction. There are lots of reasons for evictions and they shouldn't be a life hindrance where someone constantly has a noose around their neck.
