    Very nice work. I have built plenty of Kayaks and canoes but I never thought of using forms. Great stuff!

    It looks like the first rip on the table saw is freehand without a fence? If so, do you snap a chalk line down the middle and try to cut a straight lin
    e down that? thanks for your time.

    • @bluewondercanoe
      @bluewondercanoe  7 лет назад

      buttskid hisey yes, there is no fence because of the bark at the outsides. But of course I draw a line with a lead pencil....

    I’m curious why you made the ribs thicker than the stringers. Is opposite in SOF kayak.

    • @bluewondercanoe
      @bluewondercanoe  5 лет назад

      well observed - this construction method has proven itself, because the canoe is open at the top.

    • @joefeager7056
      @joefeager7056 5 лет назад +1

      bluewondercanoe , did you use pine for all parts? Would you thin down the ribs if using white oak?

    • @woodgasfire4422
      @woodgasfire4422 5 лет назад

      @@joefeager7056 yes I use line for all.. white oak is not available. Pine works very well...

      @@joefeager7056 yes all parts are pine-wood : that´s my challenge ...

    Wie oft benutzt die die Mallen, baust Du mehrere "identische" Boote damit? Mächtiger Aufwand - das wird wieder gut werden . . .
    Gruß Tino

    • @bluewondercanoe
      @bluewondercanoe  7 лет назад

      Ja der Aufwand ist hoch - aber je besser die Mallen um so näher ist dann das Canoe am Bauplan. Und : na klar kann ich dann viele gleiche Boote bauen ;-)

    • @einufo
      @einufo 7 лет назад

      Ich drücke mal meine laienhaften Daumen, dass das erste Boot super wird und die nächsten bestellt werden . . .

    • @bluewondercanoe
      @bluewondercanoe  7 лет назад

      Also das Boot ist super geworden - ich hab es Anfang de Jahres gebaut. Den sommer über war ich viel auf dem Wasser. Nun hab ich Zeit die Videos zu bearbeiten .. gucke : ruclips.net/video/m7ZOHMe_M8I/видео.html

    Very surprised that you are using cheap and nasty Stirlingborad and an amateur DIY square, which is only 'near'; why not use a correct engineers' square, almost guaranteed accuracy?
    The plural of foot is feet, not feets.

      Is it not Stirlingboard?

    • @bluewondercanoe
      @bluewondercanoe  6 лет назад +4

      Ok, I want to learn every day - the term "stirlingboard" I never heard. I use the term "STRONGBACK" or in german : "Helling". My strongback is not cheap but very inexpensive, good and stable enough, for build a lot of canoes in a high quality. Of course there are some differents - every single canoe a unique. That´s my way...

    • @alanhodgson36g
      @alanhodgson36g 6 лет назад

      bluewondercanoe. Great job! Stirlingboard is the wood the moulds are cut from. Perfect for one canoe!
