Dream FX Filter - Things to know before you buy | Prism Lens FX

- The Dream FX Filter by Prism Lens FX is a creative filter similar to a Tiffen Black Promist filter, that bloom highlights and softens your image, reducing the sharpness to make it feel more film-like. Using it for a few weeks now as you can see in the sample footage this is not a subtle filter, and for some maybe a little too intense. All in all, I still love this filter and what the guys are doing over at prism lens fx.

I love that you used a good amount of footage to show what the filter does. Also, awesome diy project! 👌🏽
Quality content. The ultimate filming shelf is absolute fire! Subbed.
broo i jusr ordered my dreamfx filter! excited to use it 😍😍😍
Hey! I just discovered your channel through this video! Glad to have found you and your work - great stuff. :)
Nice video bro. Love the examples.
Cheers Sam
Hi dude,
I pressed pause in the middle of the video because I really wanted to comment first, haha you'd better start a DIY channel :) what nice equipment you have, clearly a hobby handyman and a nice garage space to work !
(I am also a hobby handyman hence my response) 😂
I do have a question, I have the following diffusion filters myself:
- K&F Black Mist 1/8 & 1/4.
- Tiffen GlimmerGlass1
- NiSi Black Mist 1/8 & 1/4
The K&F are very subtle and the Tiffen GlimmerGlass1 is a bit different from the traditional Mist filters,
giving a slightly different effect.
And last but not least,
my favorites that I actually use 90% of the time are the NiSi Black Mist filters the 1/8 & 1/4 strength.
I prefer the 1/4 but that is purely personal.
I don't know if you are familiar with/worked with these filters,
but would you recommend the DreamFX filter or think it would add something to my collection?
I'm curious ! there is apparently also a Subtile DreamFX filter.
(long story, sorry for that) 🙈
Greetings, Nick
Hey Nick!
Thanks for the comment.
Since shooting the video I did see they came out with a subtle version (haven't tried it) but I assume it's good.
It's crazy that it's been a few years since I released this video, but yes I now own a nisi 1/4 and really like it.
Since you have so many diffusion filters already I wouldn't get any more. Unless you need a particular size or want a stronger strength?
Where have you been all this time! ITS AN AMAZING CHANNEL
Bro Crushed this one! also been looking at this filter for a while to. Some of that footage was rad!
Bro. Just went to your channel. SO GOOD ;)
Nice vid Josh! So the dream FX you have is the original. Now they have come out with a 'subtle' which I would assume is 1/2 the halation?
Curious about the subtle one myself! Would be cool to see a side-by-side.
Man that’s a good sign. Nice review but I live in Australia also body and I really want to know whether they deliver to Aus.
Dope review! :D
Hahaha. Cool DIY! Have you compared the Dream FX to the Pro mist and if so, are they any different, pros and cons? Color difference :-)
Can you stack an ND filter on it?
Im dissappointed after buying it i got the 49mm one and it doesnt look like anything has changed
Nice work bro 👌🏼
Thanks so much!
I think it looks best during that night shot, kinda makes it look foggy out. Also what is the background song you used for that montage of dream fx shots
is this the regular or the subtle filter?
Do you reduce the camera sharpness when you apply this filter to your camera lens?
Do you know the difference between the 77mm one and the 77mm subtle filter?
Hey Cindy, I think the subtle one won't be as intense compared to the standard one which I have in the video.
Could this work with an iphone?
what version is it? the subtle version of the normal one?
thanks
Hey There, I think its the normal version as when I purchased it there was only one option.
@@joshmchin okie, thanks
