- Had a ton of fun making this video and I think it could (maybe) be the first build of its kind for the Malay! I think it's a really nice switch-up on your opponent who wouldn't expect a malay player to go so cavalry heavy and the play gets disguised by your score. Hope it works for you all !

20 Elephants 20 Minutes Build Order:
Pop 1: Scout
Pop 2-7: Sheep
Pop 8-11: Wood
lure deer as early as possible
Pop 12: Food
Pop 13: Build 2 houses then berries
Pop 14-19: Food
Pop 20-24: Wood
Balance 14 food between 7 herdables and 7 berries
Pop 25-30: Gold
Click Feudal
Build a Barracks immediately with berry vill
Hit Feudal
Build Stable
Build Blacksmith
Build as many farms with sheep vills
Click Castle
Build House
Build 2nd Stable
Build farm every 60 wood
Hit Castle
Build Elephants non-stop
Build Houses as Needed
Do not produce villagers
Build Farms every 60 Wood
Research Husbandry + Scale Barding Armor when moving to attack

Hi all! It was pointed out to me by a viewer that you can actually add 2 villagers in feudal age (send them to wood) and have it not effect your 20 elephants in 20 minutes. I would highly suggest doing this and adding it to the above video! :)

@@kastellan1324 Yep, I skipped all eco upgrades here since I don't believe I would have gotten enough return on the investment made. With this strategy, it is mostly a do or die situation so getting those upgrades would only matter if you were in a Team Game (in which case, definitely get them!)
@@productkafasi This is actually really tough on hillfort - It's difficult to hide and also due to the cramped space, a lot of people will be going for some type of early aggression against you. Combo this with the lack of food/berries inside your fort and it makes the strategy tough to pull off.

You build videos are fantastic. I first found your channel on the AoE Companion discord channel so people are appreciating your videos over there. The best part about your videos is how all the odd ball builds I ran into which I thought were just players doing weird strategies are actually builds that are just uncommon. I had run into Hoang Rush multiple times and just thought the player was trolling me but now I have a reasonable idea what to expect from it and how to fight back against it.

I do a similar strategy but I go for 35 villagers in feudal, with thus you can continue building villagers in castle and do the elefants, so you keep your economy strong and you attack with force.

In DE there is a hotkey to enable/disable it and a transparency slider in settings which is invisible by default.

Have u thought about going to feudal with like 21 or 22 pop to get wood and farm upgrades fast (before seeding farms...) and than up later on 31 to castle age? could help ur eco and u kind of lose the tc-idle-time u have in feudal age(?)
Yep! Thought about doing this but unfortunately that ramps up a little too slowly. Also, none of the eco upgrades pay themselves back since you are constantly moving villagers off of wood to build farms, and if you get to the point where you need Horse Collar to reseed farms, the rush didn't work and you may have already lost :P
I did a lengthy analysis which I ended up posting on reddit comparing builds such as Malay 30+2 vs 20+12, and the fast feudal builds were always significantly worse off resource wise, about 380-500 through most tests.

@@MrNewyen1 It means pop (not including militia in the cases of drush FC). So vills + scout. It was easier to just look at pop before, like 28+2 for a fast castle, as the villager number thing was added in DE. The naming convention has stuck gladly, making things easier to understand. So 28+2 is 27 vills in dark age, and 2 vills in feudal age.
Nice tip. The other player was too greed, but it's a good way on some maps.
I feel disgusting. But, it works. For someone like me who is so new, I just wanted a straight forwards strat that will allow me to get used to build orders, luring, keeping TC creating vils etc and I've finally found one that I can use whilst getting used to the basics. Thankyou

As for the strategy, it's definitely a bit on the cheesy side of things, but its 100% effective if not scouted.
@@HumzaCrumza Having played it a few more times, I'd like to ask. What is Malay's strong point if this gets stopped? I've had a couple now where I've made a big push and destroyed a lot, but they pump out a few monks/pikemen and then I'm unsure where to go. Light cav/Archers or something?
@@Mikeey1 go with your own monk to convert your eles back and add some archers if they make lots of pikes

This was hilarious
Someone tried this build against me in a 1v1 vs Britons in an Arena game. Only thing was they got the timing wrong(24 mins) and I was able to counter with Briton archers and pikes
Would you suggest these for relatively low elo players like me (1130ish)? Or should we just stick to the standard FC knights stuff?
While I think this strategy is effective even up to ~1600 elo, I don't think its the best for getting "better" per se. If you only play with this strat, then you miss out on developing a broader understanding of the game in the long term (which is why most pros play standard/meta). That being said, AoE2 is a game that is meant to be fun. If you have fun playing the strat, then play it! :)

what does it mean when you say 22+2 vils? What is the +2 mean? i thought it was military but i only saw 1 scout
Generally when looking at AoE builds, the "+2" indicates that in feudal age, you build 2 more villagers before clicking up to castle.

Its interesting that you dont build any builders anymore. I tried it but i build them too and so i was just able to build maybe 12-14 elephants up to min. 20
Yo My Man y, two things: I tried this build order being pocket on tg and lost every single game but I still like the idea. And I am also curious about the comments of the foe LEL
20 eles in 20 minutes was always a nice meme strat. There were some better BOs for it pre DE which were just modified versions of the already meme worthy 20 knights in 20 minutes but again, doesnt work VS anyone with the brains to add a tower min 11 on hideout lol. Reasonable guide though, worth doing vs noobs like the guy you played here who sit and boom, doing literally nothing, to then get tilted so easily when they vs army minute 21.

The enemy would need to scout this and attempt to build pikes and more importantly, monasteries to convert the elephants. Also, apply some feudal pressure early will force the Malay player to commit to exposing the elephants early giving the defender plenty of time to build a few monks + pikes

Do Camels have extra dmg vs Elephants?
Yep, elephants are a soft counter to elephants meaning they get bonus damage vs. them but still need a lot of camels to clear elephants

For this build yes, you have to push deer or you will not be able to reach the 20 by 20 mark :/

Yup - in the description you should be able to find a pdf build order in the link (might have to scroll a bit to find it). Also for all builds i'll usually include a pretty crude build order in text in the description if that helps!

I'm trying this out but Malay faster age up bonus is bugged. If I attack the opponent with 20 elephants at the 25-30 min mark would it be too late?
Also if there are no berries on a certain map what would you do?
who care about bloodline or other armor they are the best civ of elephant
