The reason this annoys tf outta me is these Soylent or whatever type products being marketed as "future smart foods", will in dystopian societies be the kinds of meals fed to the hoi poloi, the unwashed poor masses. Industrial, chemically nutritional slop, whilst the rich, the privileged, will be eating real, whole foods packed with nutrients and vitamins. So miss me with that "can't feed a growing population organically farmed foods". At the end of the day no substitution for real food.
#HealthandFitnessGainz
Dont be poor then
It literally is a substitute for real food. I've been drinking protein shakes for breakfast for over ten years. No adverse side effects.
Anyway, feeding the world isnt going to be a problem. First of all population is already in decline on every continent on Africa, and secondly, greenhouses exist. We could feed ten times as many people on 10% of the land currently used for agriculture if necessary, and marginal costs would be lower. All this fearmongering about running out of arable land is a bunch of people who dont know what they are talking about.
Well poor people currently already eat garbage, so stuff like Soylent would probably be an upgrade to them. It's been 3 years since I looked at the research on these meal replacements and I didn't find anything about them that seemed concerning. Many people will unironically eat a cheeseburger with like 30 total ingredients and then look at a powdered meal replacement as "too processed."
@@TheSuperappelflap it literally isnt a substitute for real food, having 1 liquid protein shake along with eating actual food isnt even remotely close to just replacing ALL of your meals with liquid goyslop 😂😂. No, we arent sliding over the fact the guy making "hyperprocessed" food claiming that organic farms lead to obesity due to inbalanced diets. First off, that type of quick fix easy mix slop is what made organic farms go from everyday norm to premium luxury, and second hyperprocessed calorie dense slop is the leading cause of obesity. You think this slop, having like 2000 kcal, costing like 15$ for a 2 day pack, made in like 2 minutes, is gonna satiate a person the same way a 15$ meal made from scratch would? Nah fam, people are gonna take a look at their 3 eggs 3 bacons 2 bread breakfast, think "I dont wanna do dishes" sub it with half a bottle of slop pro v1.1 and in 30 minutes they are gonna drink the second half going into a surprlus before they even had lunch, while also lacking 3/4ths of what makes a diet balanced.
No, capitalism made organic farming become a luxury. Gotta extract that profit from the peasants. And protein shakes arent necessarily hyperprocessed. Thats basically what soylent is. They just add a bunch of vitamins and minerals that you can buy in bulk yourself and then charge a 300% surplus.
I mix my own shakes and I can do it for about a quarter of what they charge. The ingredients themselves arent bad, its just ridiculously expensive.
Also, if you eat 3 eggs, 3 slices of bacon for breakfast every day, please get some professional advice on your diet. You gon' die. Unless you are a construction worker or an organic farmer who doesnt use mechanical tools. In that case, carry on.

Its literally just pure carbs. You can add as much to a protein shake as you need to manage your calorie intake.
The interview guy was like “What if I did supersize… but in reverse 🤔🤔🤔”
Food also plays a massive part in human psychology, food is one of those things that has been engrossed into the human condition to not only find important, but to love unconditionally. Humans without food wouldn’t be a good thing, it would really affect people, their emotions, psyche, all of it
I heard about a similar company called "feed" i think, a few years back. And honestly, my first impression was that this sounded good. I didn't know much about nutrition, but the idea of just chugging your premade meals felt like a great idea, to me at least. I don't really derive much pleasure from eating, and preparing, even the most barebone stuff was a hassle. Like, i'd much rather use that time for something else, anything. However, after learning about nutrition, how different nutrients affect the body and stuff, the idea of just chugging the same thing everyday, no matter how well designed, is just moronic. Like you have a standard amount of calories, fat, carbs and shit. Right now i adapt my diet depending on what i want to do. Increase or decrease calories if i wanna gain / shed weight, increase sodium intake in the summer cause i sweat like a fucking pig, increase sugars when i do cardio and so on. And that's without even considering that different people will react differently to certain foods. Like i eat dairy products cause i like em and they're filled with nutrients and protein, but if someone else is lactose intolerant, my diet wouldn't work for them.
So eventhough i still try to make my meals as simple as possible, so that preping / eating takes up as little of my time as possible, making this standard packet of food for everyone, every day of the year, and calling it "healthy" is just plain stupid, and anyone who spent just a couple minutes researching nutrition can figure that out for themselves. And calling it "healthy" is just the cherry on top. I'm not even sure that anyone can drink this garbage and be alive for an extended period of time, let alone "healthy".
Well, you are in luck. See, you can mix your own protein shakes and then add more carbs (maltodextrin) or more fat (by adding some whole fat milk or olive oil or something) and salt etc pe your liking on a dailt basis.
That way you will also save a bunch of money because Soylent and these other pre-mixed protein shakes have a profit margin of about 300%.
Don't care about eating food much? Then you should try binging on meth! All the energy you could ever need without all that pesky chewing!
Mixing it breaking bad style with a Rubbermaid in the house
