  • I bought a bike off Flipkart and thought I was getting some great offers (credit card discounts and no-cost EMIs)
Sadly, I later realised that the offers were not as great as they seemed.

Paytm mentions the certain card numbers eligible for the offers. Haven't seen yet with Amazon till now.

      Good for Paytm.
This was by Flipkart and they need more transparency for sure.
I was specifically looking for any special terms and conditions and found none.

I guess you are very new to Flipkart
Most of the people know how this works
I have an Amazon pay ICICI card which isn't mostly available on any kind of discount offers on Flipkart. Also the details are available in their terms and conditions.
They even mention the card number that doesn't have the offers.
The moment you see the discounted amt vanish, make sure to change the card that you are using.

The thing is the final amount I paid was lesser than the discounted amount.
But Flipkart did not clarify that even though they call it a "no-cost EMI", there will be an interest charged on top of that by the bank and therefore the actual amount will be higher. The hiding of the interest portion is the misleading I am concerned about here.
Also the "Terms and Conditions" did not mention certain cards being ineligible for the offer.
I say this confidently because I went through the offers carefully. But again, that is not the bigger problem.

@@TheMuser This is how it works from as long as I can remember. They do this even when you buy a 10k phone but for the cars that aren't applicable i have always found it in the t&c

I guess I'll just be even more careful with the TnCs
