Update : After a smooth HSRP installation for my Honda Dio, I was expecting the same for my Swift and boy, was I in for a surprise. The dealer I had chosen was Kalyani Nexa (JP Nagar) and the slot I had was 10 to 12 on 02Sep2023. I called the showroom number provided on the HSRP booking and the number was never answered. I called up the showroom and the attendant said she has no idea about what I am talking about. Nonetheless I reached the showroom at the appointed hour and found another customer waiting for HSRP fitment as well. The other customer had received a call the previous day from Rosmerta (the HSRP vendor who maintains bookmyhsrp.com) I on the other hand had received no such intimation. The dealer maintained that the HSRP fitment for old vehicles is totally Rosmerta's responsibility and they had nothing to do with it. That is contradictory to what the process is supposed to be. While we were waiting, I got a call from Rosmerta saying that they will get the number plate home delivered and I will get a call for the same. But since I was at the showroom any way, I decided to wait and watch. The HSRP vendor came carrying the number plates by 11:30. And turns out it was for the slots the day before. We were told another guy is on the way and is bringing the current day's number plates. We waited another 45 minutes and the number plates were there. We checked and found our number plates in the lot and then started the installation. The lone guy from the HSRP vendor started the process right on the main road since there was no space in the showroom. By the time my turn came he realised that my existing number plate had hex screws which he does not have a screwdriver for. The only equipment he had was a screwdriver, battery operated drill and the rivet gun. So finally I got my front number plate and windscreen sticker fixed and left with the back number plate in my boot to be fixed at my own convenience!

Peugeot and Fiat are both now owned by the same parent company I would suggest checking with the Fiat dealers if they can help you out. The manufacturer on the RC is what matters. They might ask you to get it updated and then they might help. Also do check with the RTO on how you should proceed. HSRP for vehicles form manufacturers who have left India is a bit of a grey area right now
The HSRP is managed by respective states. Maharashtra has not started yet but I had heard they might start next year Keep checking the Maharashtra RTO for updates on HSRP. As long as you have a standard format number plate (plain white with bold lettering) the traffic cops don't bother you. Roadside vendors will give you a HSRP lookalike as well. However the officials might stop you for not paying road tax in Karnataka (which is another topic altogether)

Kindly help what to do in such cases
I don't know how to cancel an order. You can call the HSRP dealer (ordermyhsrp.com in my case) and check. However, a HSRP for a motorcycle should also work for a scooter. So I don't think it should be a problem. But do confirm!

Check the existing number plates. Do they have a 10 digit number on both of them? I think most probably they are not real HSRP plates but imitation ones. Car decorators cannot install genuine HSRP plates

The current website is not designed to handle vehicles of manufacturers that do not have dealerships any more You can check mParivahan to see what is the manufacturer name Then check with the RTO to see what would be the approach for your case. An easier way would be to get a lookalike till you figure out what the correct approach would be
On the siam.in website, choose your manufacturer (FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) If the RC mentions a different manufacturer name you'll have to get the RC updated with the correct name first For Fiat, the HSRP vendor is MakeMyHSRP.com You can check with them or with the RTO on further steps
In tamilnadu HSRP number plate not possible to get for old vehicles registered before April 2019.I have approached the concerned RTO and car dealer. But they said there is a court case pending and so in Tamil Nadu at present its not possible to get HSRP for old vehicles. In such a case if I have to come to Bangalore what I have to do. If you are bringing your TN registered vehicle to Karnataka (for equal to or more than a year), you are expected to re-register your vehicle in KA and then you can apply for HSRP here in KA

Ideally your vehicle should have had HSRP on both sides from the dealer itself You can check with the dealer. Or as a second option you can get replacement HSRP plates for both sides (you won't get only the rear plate)

Every vehicle in India will require a HSRP plate. All vehicles sold starting April2019 already have HSRP plates from the dealer For vehicles bought before April 2019, the states will have to setup a process for getting HSRPs. You'll have to check if Kerala has started the process for HSRP for vehicles registered before April 2019. In the siam.in website it will show which states already have HSRP process started.
Go to vahan.parivahan.gov.in/nrservices/faces/user/citizen/citizenlogin.xhtml and check your vehicle details available there Most probably the details you are providing are not matching the one in parivahan database If the error is in the parivahan database, then you'll have to go to the RTO and get it rectified.
Check on the RC (or better mParivahan) and see what manufacturer is mentioned on it. Once confirmed, check with the RTO and get it updated to the right manufacturer who will provide the HSRP. For Premier Padmini, it might be Fiat but the RTO would have to confirm.

If your state is not showing up on the SIAM website, then it would mean that your state has not started the process of HSRP for old vehicles (registered before April 2019) Wait till there is an official notification. Do not give money to those who say they can get HSRP for you. Most of them would be frauds.

A Honda Activa would be classified as a scooter.
For a scooter, both front and back are wide plates.
For a bike, the front one is narrow.
