I am a watercolor student and wanted to thank you for your videos. They are deeper than tutorials, and have taught me to solve problems and not just copy solutions of others. Talking about paying for talent with daily discipline has also been very helpful. Thank you again for encouraging many of our journeys.
Once again a mesmerizing hour with you. If I had seen your paintings 30 or 40 years ago I might have felt a need to compete. Now? I just relax and enjoy the show. Too old to compete. ❤
Being alone with our thoughts or thoughts about the scene being painted is a great joy. Thanks for reaffirming that in your words, at times I can get afflicted with the thought that I should be doing more & in that I lose the present moment. Love this video!🫶
I am looking forward to your video series of painting and talking with other artists. Who knows what this approach could lead to? Thanks for all the trouble you take to share your artistic journey with us. 😊
I usually watch art/painting content at 1.5 speed. Your content I cannot alter the speed because it is incredibly calming, insightful and authentic. Thank you
The video frame of skaters and windmill with the frozen winter sky (at 33.33) would make a great watercolour ! And thank you for posting your great videos.
Thank you Titus for sharing your experience and thoughts as you paint. I would like to see a snapshot of your subject occasionally so I have a map/reference as to where you started and where you are going.
So nice to get this intimate visit to your country, gives a feeling of what it’s really like to be there. I love it when you go out and about just doing everyday things and then just feeling like I’m just sitting watching you go about your painting.
Your portrait sessions idea is very interesting to me as portraits are my primary interest. So much looking forward to this series. Glad you found help on it too!
I think your project to film 10 sessions with other artist will be insightful and playful. I love your channel because it is revealing the daily life of an artist without hype. For me, art is a hobby and trying to envision the daily lifestyle of artist is speculative. It would be like you trying to understand my life as an engineer. I can only fantasize what it would be life to be an artist, which I sometimes do. Now that I have retired from one life, I have opportunity for another - but lack the energy right now. Maybe one day I will spend more time in your world.
My sketch buddies and I had our usual Sunday Urban Sketching meet up last weekend (we're in North-East England), and by the end I couldn't feel my fingers 😅. Got 2 sketches done though, in an hour and a half. When I went sketching in Amsterdam last March, I really felt I'd 'arrived' as an Urban Sketcher... what a buzz!!
Your videos are a bit of therapy for me. I have a new neighbor who has moved from Amsterdam to a small dot on the planet, Salt Lake City, Utah. They are renting a house across the street. It's winter now, so not much getting to know other than introduction. I'll ask if he's an artist. ❤

Thank you Titus. I envy your view from your bicycle which is entrancing. Has your excursion into large format changed your style a little when going back to smaller sizes do you think ? Or am I imagining this. Have a happy weekend.
Thank you. I don’t know if my style has changed a little since working on a larger size. But after my experiences on this size I see more possibilities in the smaller sizes
You guys are on opposite ends of the earth but would be awesome to see you and Andrew Tischler and Micheal Chamberlain paint each other's portraits... maybe over zoom?
I come to this channel looking for conversations I would like to have while I'm in my studio as if I was working with a fellow artist, each of us in their project, sometimes sharing thoughts and opinions. These (to me) fundamental conversations about art, art life, inspiration, and work are very valuable. And, while I'm looking forward to the next discussion, I would like to ask you what, in your opinion, is good art? What has to have in order to provoke you to say, "That's it, this is good art" (about your art or others).
Hi, that queation is maybe the most essential. The answer should be simple; Everything that touches you deeply, without words, can we say that's the power of art?
I have a question for you, what kind of marker did you use to do the first sketch? Thank you for these videos, I look forward to them every week. I enjoy following your progress and really like the clips that you include from the area that your studio is in and your travels to and from home.
RUclips needs more time for some videos. Don’t know why. Hopefully there will be subtitles soon under this one. Then press cc under the wheel right under for any language
Dziękuję za szybką odpowiedź - thank you for the quick reply. Second day - subtitles unavailable... I will wait. I like reading what you say. I like your art. Brightness. Luminousness and penetration. You stop transience and ephemerality. @@TitusMeeuws
Prachtige beelden van de schaatsers, zo n mooie verbinding met het verleden
Lovely to spend time with you. Don’t always find the time but always well spent time.

Klop die eend is mooi in het straatbeeld, genoten hoe. Voor mij facinerend hoe je van al die troebele verf helderheid krijgt.
😍😍😍
You are amazing with your drawing

Your videos are great to listen to while working on art projects. Also, the interview idea is great!
Thank you Nick! I know there are more artists who listen these videos while they’re at work. I never tried it myself but it works !

Lovely painting. Thank you for posting. The white opaque paint you used at the end, was it titanium white ?
Thanks. Yes, that white was titanium white gouache
I want to visit the VanGogh Museum in Amsterdam
Titus, would you paint some day views from your regular bike rides to work ?
Hi Rosine, yes I will go there in spring or summer with paint and paper. I like that mill in front of the flat horizon
