When I was in Chiang Mai, I was told by an Australian man as long as I stayed away from other foreigners, I would never have any problems in Thailand……..
I don't know what it is but many people experience getting ripped off in so many different ways in a foreign land in situations that they would never put themselves in back home you have to keep your guard up it's an evil world we live in -great advice to all Dave keep it coming
I also tend to avoid my country mates abroad but I like to meet other expats. Anyway not easy to gather with locals in any country you visit so why don't meet other foreigners? Best experience with a woman in Thailand was in fact with a danish lady and why not? 😊
It might be a good idea for next time to select environment with less noise. I stayed in pattaya 40 days and had 3 separate good friends that didnt know each other. its so easy to sniff people who is good and who is bad
I watch RUclips videos about Thailand/Philippines from time to time. I am currently here in Thailand with 3 months stay. I have a number of years traveling and living aboard. What stands out to me is most Expats I've meet or typically not high grade men from the start. That energy has become well know my locals and Expats alike. You can only imagine how the stories normally end up. If RUclipsrs are having to teach men how to live aboard that suggest they maybe unprepared for living outside there comfort zone so quickly. Knowledge is power and living outside your knowledge level leaves you exposed to people who have information you have not learned. You will more than not be taken advantage of. By 1 or the other and because your pocket is not empty yet. You attract these people. Be very selective, be smart and don't be so needle. Take care!!
The even sadder side to the story is Most Thai you run into are extremely poor w/o any money management skills. Once the money comes into their hands that are ignorant about how to leverage. Most will over indulge in alcohol, cigarettes or other vices. Very few will start a successful business.
I've been to Thailand four times, and each time, I would spend a month. I know what you're talking about when it comes to foreigners. I avoid them, but I'll speak. I built a house in Chiang mai because they actually have cooler months. Everything is paid for, so I'll definitely be retiring soon, and I'm ready. Take care.
Hello my friend, I got ripped off on my forst trip to Thailand. This guy wanted me to be his partner in the tailor shop. He wanted me to invest in the business with a down payment of $2000. I said to him. I will go home and think about it and let you know next year. He looked crafty. when I went to Phuket the following year. He had made a runner. So I was wise.
Of course there are good ones but there is a lot of dross who dream of living in Thailand but aren’t really in the situation to realise their dream and end up doing all kinds to be able to stay.
Last video: "Don't correct my English." Next? You're telling us how to pronounce Nana. You say 'Farang' is a racist term, then use it "for convenience." Telling us not to marry for a visa, but you did for convenience-and because you wanted to. You talk about submitting your Thai tax information to RUclips to shut up the haters, but do you have a Thai working permit? Like your videos. They achieve the goal of being entertaining, but your messages are consistent. Just keeping it real as always.
Thailand lady,an innocent I may add, married an old man, they leaved in Florida. The Thailand young lady took his money in their account, and she went back to Thailand.😅
That pendant around your neck is really interesting. Is it sterling silver and jade or glass or another type of stone and where did you buy it and what does it cost. Are they also made in solid gold and what other stones or material for the carvings? Thanks.
I lived in Bali about 3 months and I was advised to keep my wits sharp especially when in company of fellow foreigners, most will gaslight for their own gains. In particular, I was advised to stay away from fellow Australians.. Disclaimer- It is ok to be friends with Australian if you can handle bull-shit, but trust is an issue..
I first came to Thailand in 1988, and since spent all my spare time in Thailand when i had free time from working. Now I can stay as long as I want because I am retired. So I think I know my way about now. Yet I have learned not to give advice to anyone. It's free, and therefore worthless to them. My advice is ignored, and the only time it is followed is when the person being told the advice was going to do that anyway. Let the fools be swindled, pay over the odds, and go home broke. Don't waste your breath trying to help them.
It's so loud there I could never stand living there. What is wrong with those people. Put some silencers on those vehicles. Why not call people out on their shit? If they lose face they will stop being thieves.
Calling out isn’t necessarily their value. I hear from some Thai friends that an American yelling at someone for doing something wrong is seen as low class, that if he has better control of his emotions he’d walk away. In the U.S. we aren’t like that, we sometimes confront people who are doing the RIGHT thing. (Just look at these airplane videos of Karen’s losing it)
@@eddiejohnson4434 It's called setting your boundaries and letting people know your not going to steal from you or I. I call that standing up for what is right. Humanity no matter your race, should show respect for others and their belongings. Low class is being a thief.

Met a lot of fellow 'farangs' here in the past. Some are so full of shit, blowing their own trumpets, trying to impress you. They can be who they want to be over here.... lot of stories about how successful they are, I bet a lot of them are just freeloaders. I also steer clear of clique groups of foreigners. The ones who think they know all about Thai regulations etc. Having said all that, there are some lovely expats who are great to chat and have a beer with.
What's racist about a term that means foreigner? Also what types of people are to be avoided? I only heard how you were tricked out of large sums of money...
You like a classic mark for any two bit street hustler with that headband and the idea that you are knowledgeable about whats going in Thailand when its obvious to anybody thats been around there for decades is that you aint got a clue... Farang is not a racist term.. Thats how much you know.

A German woman once told me when travelling she always looked out for snakes and other Germans
true words
I do find your channel one of the more interesting concerning Thailand on RUclips. Plenty of information & variety of topics keep up the good work 👍
Thank you!
Having been retired here a decade l would agree 100% with your comments about other foreigners keep at arms length and handle with care

If you hand $2k to a guy you just met in a foreign country to invest in a tailor suit shop you deserve to be scammed
So you didn't get ripped off..

Where is this strangely pronounced Wig Wang you speak of? I've heard of Huai Khwang but never Wig Wang.
I pronounced it correctly
Wow you think so 😂😂😂

It's actually plastic, but my Thai wife bought it In Authiayya

Farang is not a racist term
It originated from the word foreign, ask a Thai to say foreign and it will sound like farang .
Each to their own
It's so loud there I could never stand living there. What is wrong with those people. Put some silencers on those vehicles. Why not call people out on their shit? If they lose face they will stop being thieves.
Good luck with that … 😂🤡😵
Going around calling people out on their shit= “How to get beaten up in Thailand 101”

I just go for the women
So wonder what you think thai culture is? They are very obedient thats for sure
Only Southern or posh English people would say Naaa Naaa Plaaaazaaa 😅 the rest of us on this Island would pronounce it properly 🤔
How would you pronounce it?
I like the typical Thai amulet you are wearing.
One day that money will come back to you, and that guy who tricked you will loose all that money that you gave him anyway...

What do you know?
You should really learn how to say WigWam properly before you complain about people saying Naaaaaaaaaaana
I am pronouing Huai Khwang correctly.
This is not a wigwam to beat your tom tom, it's a teepee where you can go pee pee.
You’re obviously very gullible, Paddy, and you’re just reinforcing the Irish reputation, lovely people though as you all are … 😂
What is your definition of racist?
Using a derogatory term to describe a specific group of people.
giving 100k to someone and he disappear....hmmm this is common...lol
