  • A wind mitigation is an inspection that is typically required by insurance companies. This inspection verifies the wind resistant features of a home. It tells the insurance company how well the home may hold up to a windstorm or hurricane. This inspection report can save the homeowner up to 40 percent on the insurance premium.

      New construction homes are built to current building code which includes the wind resistant features that insurance companies require in order to provide wind mitigation discounts. These discounts are automatically applied to the home owners policy without a Wind Mitigation inspection. Some insurance agents may request a wind mitigation on a new construction home but when the data is entered into the system the discounts are credited automatically.

      @@2020inspectionsolutions Maybe it's different up here in NW Florida. I have to write a wind mit for every single new construction. (Almost) never a 4-pt, but every single insurance company asks for a wind mit. Great video regardless. Cheers.
