    Heyy love do you heat everything on the stovetop? And to what temp do you heat it too as well? The color is beautiful!

    • @ssbyaki
      @ssbyaki  Год назад

      Hello! I heated mine in the microwave in 30 second bursts until everything is completely melted. I’m not exactly sure what temperature it is when it’s completely melted, I just take it out of the microwave and stir it every 30 seconds to make sure I don’t overheat it.

      Thank you! It stays soft if you keep stirring the base periodically as it cools.

    Would it be okay to make this with grapeseed or pure olive oil? And can I use Cetearyl alcohol and polysorbate 80 instead of your emulsifying wax mix?

    • @ssbyaki
      @ssbyaki  Год назад +1

      Yes you can use grape seed oil or pure olive oil. You still have to use emulsifying wax though. Cetearyl alcohol isn’t an emulsifier, but it can improve the texture of the base making it even softer. I’d suggest using half cetearyl alcohol and half emulsifying wax. Polysorbate 80 is mainly used for liquid oils. If you would like to make a scrub that’s more like tree hut’s, you can omit or lessen the amount of hard oils and just use liquid oils along with polysorbate 80.

      @@ssbyaki thank you for your fast reply. I'm just getting started with all this and the science behind it is still complicated sometimes hahaha. I have BTMS-50, would that work?

    • @ssbyaki
      @ssbyaki  Год назад +1

      @@venomousworld8330 BTMS-50 is perfect to use! You get the best of both worlds: the emulsion and a softer texture glides on the skin really nicely 🥰

    • @ssbyaki

      Yes, it’ll be firm but still soft enough to dip out. I’d say the next day it should be as thick as Vaseline with sugar if that makes sense.

    • @ssbyaki
      @ssbyaki  Год назад +1

      I normally use 1 tablespoon per 16 oz of scrub. I find that to be the right amount to be effective and it won’t stain your tub!
