The horses I have trained over the years have taught me everything I know. I never had the money for lessons or for flash horses so I use to get a lot of dangerous or troubled horses in and re-school them before selling them on as it was the only way I could afford to ride.

Alycia you are my idol & inspiration
Alycia I am a fan. Once a jumping trainer myself, I took about ten years off the sport and am now coming back. Because of you, I would like to come back as a free rider. 80% of my happy memories have been bareback with a halter and lead rope. I have a 3yr old. I'm sure you would agree it wise to start in a nice, soft bit slowly moving into free riding. Once that wonderful bond is created and 'we're' more educated, slow move into free riding. Thank you!

Your videos are very inspirational! I get a lot of memories that flood back to be when I see you riding your beautiful friend in your videos. My first horse looked just like him, and I almost thought it was him when I first saw one of your videos. I lost him back in 2007, and miss him so much. We were able to ride as one like you're able to....just without the jumps. Haha. I wish I had taken better videos with him...I only have the memories to watch that which are in my mind. Keep up your work!!

I am a free rider and I am so happy to know that I'm not alone in this! My German Warmblood and I love jumping just about anything, and we enjoy free jumping up to 3'6 :) I want to train to go higher with time!

I ride my friends horse, she's trained him so much! Your horses are gorgeous and you really show the world that through it all life is going to throw things at you but you have to keep your head high.

I strongly admire the skill this takes and to a degree believe every equestrian should learn the basics of this since it really encourages a strong connection with your horse and more humane riding aids, however I wish people would stop making comments that her derisive to those of us who do not pursue this discipline. It seems people are either condemning people who don't ride like this, or mocking her for riding like this. I think we should just admire and respect this for what it is, and if we take something away from it, then I hope we are the better for it. That is just my diplomatic two-cents though.

A talented rider, is a person who can rehabilitate horses. Make them better (mental/physical condition) and prove that "slaughter horses", or other horses with bad behavior/issues can be succsessfull ridinghorses. Why would top riders buy a "pre-ridden" horse for several "millions"? Well, I don´t think everyone is cabable of rehabilitating a race horse (example). Mostly because they lack experience.

I'm started to do this. You've inspired me, I am now jumping around 3 feet bareback. And I thank God for all of it. Even the little pony was jumping it! I also want some tips on how to do it bridleless. I've been trying all day! She's responded just a bit, though. Also what kind of horse is yours? Hes so pretty. And this was my friends first day EVER jumping bareback. She's jumping around 1 foot and a half. IM SO PROUD OF HER! We've both watched you so many times, and your inspired both of us incredibly. I am self employed. I train my own horses, and I also train for other people. Some people send their 'problem' horses to me to fix, others just want their horses broken in or taught how to jump.
I also shoe all of my own horses, rehabilitate many TBs off the track and instruct people. I hope this answers your question :)

I designed it made myself to suit horses that can get strong/hot who don't like bits in their mouths. Its the only bridle I use now on Goldrush. I will get it manufactured one day in the near future :)

wow!!! I've already started tackless (free riding) with my girl, i even did it on her 12-13th EVER ride with someone on her back :) but then i had some troubles with no response when i got her home and rode her more, but I've sorted it with time :) thinner rope for a while, working on leg pressure then gradually thickening the rope and at one stage no rope whatsoever :) (even cantered with legit nothing) that was only 2 months ago i believe? anyway, you are a huuuuge inspirations XD
