The dollar exchange was extremely high, hence high prices. The government deliberately funded fertilizer to more than 6 million farmers. The harvest almost doubled. As such, the prices of food reduced. The prices of gas are driven by the international market. It's the nation's that produce gas (OPEC) that set market prices.
