    Two bladders for extra protection. Gotta love free bonus parts. Definitely better than none anyway. I've seen multiple shock building vids. It's interesting seeing all the different types and how each person does it. I personally use a piece of an old blown tire to grip the shaft. Obvious jokes aside, I've never seen anyone polish the shaft before. So that's new to me. Good stuff.

    I use mothers Mag and aluminum rim polish does the same thing ... BUT a word for the wise the polish is actually removing metal very very little amounts of it but it is resurfacing the metal by removing it so do not do it to many times. I recommend getting a shock sock to keep them clean!

    • @rcguygarage
      @rcguygarage  4 года назад

      Exactly but by the time enough metal could even possibly be removed by polishing the shock shaft the shock body and even the whole shock itself probably would need to be replaced . . . In my case probably much MORE would be needing replacement😂😝🤣. THUMBS UP on the shock covers though👍💯👊

I love it!...Seriously though, Great video RC Guy Garage! This definitely helped me learn all about the Maxx "GT-Maxx" shocks & how poorly tuned they come from the factory. On my Widemaxx w/Trencher LP's + steel driveshafts, I'm currently running 70 in the rear and 50 in the front+upgraded +firm coils so my Maxx doesn't bottom out as easily. What is the fluid you are dropping all your parts in? Thanks in advance!

    • @ethanm2831

      I found it out lower shock weight means faster shocks or bigger piston holes

    • @rcguygarage
      @rcguygarage  2 года назад

      There's a number of things that affect this temperature is a big one the valving on the piston is another one and yes ultimately the shock oil lighter weight shock oil allows the shock to absorb mini bumps a lot faster So if you're traveling at high rates of speed and you want ultimate traction you would have lighter shock fluid If you had impacts with large jumps a combination of thicker fluid and possibly larger holes on the valves or pistons would aid in absorption but then you would lose the high speed ability It's all tuning and the more you do it the more you understand 👍💯

    I am currently using a weight of around 130, but I just bought a 320 oil and I already have a 160 oil to mix. The weight of 130 I only tested by dropping the Maxx at a height of one meter, even so it still hit the chassis. I realized that changes in the scale of 10, for oil viscosity, make no difference. It is best to advance 50 by 50. Considering the starting point of 80wt. I'm from Brazil.

    • @coolhawk2003
      @coolhawk2003 2 года назад

      Its has to slap . Truck parts last longer. Like a real monster truck it has straps to limit the shocks . That's the slap , its the limit strap. If shock took all the drop ,other parts will break.

    • @wise--men

      @@wise--men how you do that? Bigger springs?

    • @wise--men
      @wise--men 2 года назад +1

      @@coolhawk2003 Yes, you are correct. I was lucky to find a custom spring manufacturer here in my country. I missed her hardness twice, but I finally got it right. Overall height 84mm, internal diameter 23mm, stainless steel wire thickness 2.5mm, internal space between spirals 12.5mm (15mm may be softer). Before these springs I made a soft rubber stopper with a hole in the middle for the shafts. It has a round shape that comes with and fits inside the springs. It became very professional. I used rubber from sandals with a rubber height of around 2cm. Even when the springs arrived, I didn't remove it. These springs make the perfect damping, because they flex a maximum of 30% of their total length, so it's super stiff and doesn't flex anymore. It really is super pleasant and satisfying to have solved the Maxx damping problem. As the springs are stiffer, the silicone is also more viscous. Here it is very similar to honey, specifically around 6,000cst. But it's good to know that this setup is for landing on concrete, asphalt. I usually jump at a height similar to a person.
