Never realized until rewatching this scene that her and Greer basically have the same idea. At the time it was mind-blowing for me to see villains who aren't control freaks, and were more than willing to become immediately subservient to whatever they brought to existence. No power struggle at all, even just for show
I think Denise The wrote this episode, she definitely wrote some great ones with amazing scenes and lines not to be forgotten, the end of Cura te Ipsum was amazing for example; I wonder if she came up with the idea/line of "bad code" on her own, it's genius.
I ABSOLUTELY HATED the character of Root. A self serving psychopath who ended up worshipping the machine as god. They should have killed her off long before Season 5.
So? Millions of people have faith in an imaginary sky daddy, at least the machine was an actual thing in the series' universe and her and Shaw were by far the most interesting characters of the show *because* they were not generic :D
You're a minority here. Almost everyone who watched this show loved her. Root was an amazing character with a lot of growth and a complex personality. She wasn't just "good" or "bad" and that's what made her so interesting. Also her way of thinking was very unique and fun to watch.
That's a bubble gum the mass is supposed to chew these days. Having accepted stupid philosophy theories many times, they can't resist another step of the ladder down to hell. But doing it they are very proud of themselves. They even keep considering themselves good people after turning the world into a mess full of chaos and destruction. They just don't want to see the link.

Amy Ackerman is just a wonderful actress.
