Even when it is a monologue, Shehzad has a richer, nuanced, unbiased view. Best of all he doesnt infantilize his audience . Rathee on the other hand is a propagandist for a political party, his messaging is biased. He talks down to his audience and even if the content is good, it is designed to be memed, in small bytes. There is no nuance, he doesnt take questions even on twitter, simply blocks people. And his communication is highly targeted towards urban, educated Indian teenager or young adults. Not sure if he can ever stick his neck out in a debate like Shehzad does, take risks. Above all the fact that he has foreign nationality kind of taints the messaging. There is a lot to appreciate about the courage of Shehzad who lives in a state where he could be "picked up" for saying the kind of things he does. and yet, goes on. Therefore IMHO Pakistanis should be really proud of having Shehzad

I don't think he has that much of an influence on result because youtube users in India is very less compared to total number of people who had actually voted. So if you compare to his views on his videos to the number of people who voted then you will find out it is incomparable at all. But In india the whole media was under the influence of the ruling government (BJP). The media didn't show the BJP's mistakes and always praised them, they neglected the opposition party's criticism towards the government. The guy moved to Germany when he was 17 or 18 and never knew how politics work in india. Even after lifting and praising the BJP for many years and literally brainwashing people to think that BJP is the only government who has always made the right decision. Compare the whole media in India(favouring the government) and Dhruv Rathee (against the government) , who had more influence, obviously the media, but even then they could not convince the voters. My personal opinion is that the BJP has done great work for the development of India due to its capitalist policies as opposed to Congress who is a socialist ideology. So people are just not divided by the religions but also castes, so this time many castes were upset on BJP because BJP was talking about removing caste based reservation in education and government jobs, which would promote people with merit over the caste reservation. But but but Every caste wants reservation in india which was given to only a few lower castes for their economic development after the independence. The system has become so much worse now, in today's india there is 50% reservation for several castes, and merit is only given 50% chance. Bjp wanted to dismiss this system of reservation but congress played on this point and promised to give more reservation quota to various more casts. And people do not think for the collective good of the people(Merit) but they see what's more beneficial for them and their caste so they vote against the BJP this time. Shehzad and Dhruv are so different. Dhruv rarely runs interviews, although he does present some stats sometimes, he largely focuses on video essays. Shehzad on the other hand runs interviews and lets people display their own views and allows his audiences to decide for themselves what they want to go with. I don’t think Dhruv rathee had much influence. Because his videos are mostly popular in urban India and urban India has voted for bjp . The gains have been mostly made in rural India .The result you are seeing are only because this time the alliances came together and as a result vote went in one direction. Also in up one might think people of UP voted progressively but it’s totally opposite. This time caste politics won . The vote share of bjp as a whole has just decreased by 0.5 percent which is expected after 10 years of incumbency . On the other hand bjp has stared to gain in south india. It has almost clean swept some states in south India like odisha, Telangana, karnataka and also opened its account in Kerala. So results are not that bad as it might seem .

I would say thing to you, Dhruv Rathee had little effect in the elections. If you look at the numbers, BJP maintained its vote share. Opposition consolidation helped swing the election. Viewers do not necessarily mean approval of the content especially when the counter arguments of what is presented is also watched or realized equally. The issue here is to understand that voters are willing to listen to the other side of an argument, and when it is a RUclipsr (not sounding condescending, as I believe in you) it also means that opposition leaders have a lot to work on in order to capture space. It is also a stinging critique on MSM who parroted for the ruling government and not being critical when it was required. All in all, the public has given a lease of life and also a leash of boundaries from where the government needs to operate. Democratic institutions and the Constitution are no-go areas especially as evidenced from the Schedule Castes communities vote share going away from the BJP, that means the lowest strata of the society values the democracy so dearly that the idea that constitution can be touched is alarming enough. I still believe Dhruv Rathee’s influence was limited as the supposed parties that he was or is aligned with did not significantly show strength in numbers. However to absolutely discard him would be foolhardy as well.

I don’t think Dhruv rathee had much influence. Because his videos are mostly popular in urban India and urban India has voted for bjp . The gains have been mostly made in rural India .The result you are seeing are only because this time the alliances came together and as a result vote went in one direction. Also in up one might think people of UP voted progressively but it’s totally opposite. This time caste politics won . The vote share of bjp as a whole has just decreased by 0.5 percent which is expected after 10 years of incumbency . On the other hand bjp has stared to gain in south india. It has almost clean swept some states in south India like odisha, Telangana, karnataka and also opened its account in Kerala. So results are not that bad as it might seem .

I would say thing to you, Dhruv Rathee had little effect in the elections.
If you look at the numbers, BJP maintained its vote share. Opposition consolidation helped swing the election. Viewers do not necessarily mean approval of the content especially when the counter arguments of what is presented is also watched or realized equally.
The issue here is to understand that voters are willing to listen to the other side of an argument, and when it is a RUclipsr (not sounding condescending, as I believe in you) it also means that opposition leaders have a lot to work on in order to capture space. It is also a stinging critique on MSM who parroted for the ruling government and not being critical when it was required.
All in all, the public has given a lease of life and also a leash of boundaries from where the government needs to operate.
Democratic institutions and the Constitution are no-go areas especially as evidenced from the Schedule Castes communities vote share going away from the BJP, that means the lowest strata of the society values the democracy so dearly that the idea that constitution can be touched is alarming enough.
I still believe Dhruv Rathee’s influence was limited as the supposed parties that he was or is aligned with did not significantly show strength in numbers.
However to absolutely discard him would be foolhardy as well.

In Urban BJP swiped across every seat with good margin except some part of Mumbai, it's just that Khata-Khat scheme that hurted most in Rural areas. Go check you will found videos of Womens standing in lines outside Congress Party office of forms asking for 1 lakh rupees they promised for votes.
I repeat check seat by seat in Urban BJP won almost all, but got suckerpunch in Purvanchal(UP east - Rural) and and Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
