Agree 💯👍 one of my favorite women, I admired, loved and thought was absolutely gorgeous, making me love being a female, growing up in my teens. Thank you!!
That’s a beautiful apartment building,..she was by all accounts a very gentle and sweet woman who suffered much in her lifetime, rest in peace dear lady....
Yes, her building was very nice and she was a beautiful actress! She was born to soon! Had she been born today, she would have been a much bigger star! Thanks for the glimpse, in her life! ⭐🙌⭐
Beautifully done, the background music set the mood; that looks like the auditorium or the Theater department from my high school Hollywood high. Dorothy Dandridge was a stunning black woman, may she Rest In Peace💜🙏🏾🎶🎬🎤
Lewis Bush, Thank You For Taking Me To Dorothy Dandridge's Place! You Did An Excellent Job Paying Your Respects To This Super Pioneer, Beautiful And Tortured Soul! I Read Everything I Can Put My Hands On About Dorothy Dandridge!
Lewis I know Dorothy very well and I have all the movies that I could find. She was the greatest and so loved. I just founded your video and now I am a friend of yours.
Thanks for the info! I was watching something on utube about her last night! She was so talented, and beautiful! It's a crying shame how her two no good husbands basically destroyed her life. Rip Dorothy Dandridge!🙏
Love this and the music was definitely a nice touch. Wow I always wanted to go there and walk in that area. Just to think about walking in places she probably walked is everything. Great video! ❤️❤️
" Such a Beautiful sight, wish I lived there in that Beautiful white apartment". 😍🌷🌷🌷🌷 She was a Beauty..... Thank you for this video. ( One day ill visit there). 😉😊😀
That was Beautiful of you to do that💐 This young generation has no idea the door she opened for them, to be able to step into as an artist with a craft!
Beautiful woman. I remember watching the movie and she was in Las Vegas. And they wouldn’t let her through the front door or let her swim in the pool. So she stuck her foot in the pool and they had to drain it. Racism has never left this country for us. I’m a baby boomer and I have seen it all, I gave my grandson a history lesson about racism and other things that comes along with being a black male. Now as a black female I have to be careful too, I didn’t mean to make this a political statement but I just wanted some of these young adults to know. By the way I do love your videos.
Wow. I didn't know about the pool incident. I was reading her biography a couple of years ago but put it down because it was too painful. Very surprising she was able to live in that building.
She was so beautiful and intelligent so sad she had to use backdoors and couldn't eat or swim in the places she stayed I will always remember her carmen .
@@dominiqueechevarria1889 Many did leave. Sadly, they would go to the White continent of Europe, in order to get the freedoms that the Great American Lie falsely advertised; and, might I say, CONTINUES to espouse ‼️😵🤬
Thank you for posting this. If you haven't already seen it, her full movies, "Island In The Sun" with Harry Belafonte-1957 and Porgy & Bess with Sidny Poitier-1959, have been posted on RUclips. God Bless!
She does way to soon. I used to live down the street from there. I’m so mad people did that to her statue. Thank you for posting, this video is well done🌸
Thank you!! For remembering one of the most beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, talented woman, singer, actress, dancer, who gave an " Academy Award" performance in "Carmen Jones" in my opinion. Can someone tell me if she was nominated for best or supporting actress for Carmen??
You are doing a great job young man. I subscribed after I saw your Marvin Gaye home. I am in my sixties. I am so proud of you. Keep up the good work. Side bar issue for health reasons if you are walking alone or by yourself don’t wear a mask. It is not good for you.
In Great Respect to Miss Dorothy Dandridge , stunningly beautiful Lady , lovely apt building where she lived ....thank you for a lovely video tuning in from Toronto Canada . 🇨🇦
Thank you for this! Keeping her name alive is important because she was one of greatest trailblazers in the entertainment industry we’ve had. Aside from Halle Berry’s movie decades ago there haven’t been many tributes to Ms. Dandridge. Her life ended tragically and it’s sad that one of our best artists died alone. I actually pass by her the apartment building every day and think of her. I send her a quite prayer and gratitude for what she did in film. Sending love into the ethers to the one and only Dorthy Dandridge….the true blueprint. ❤️😘❤️😘❤️
The tragedy is not that she died alone, but that she died the same week when she had just returned from Mexico where she had just signed a movie contract for one hundred thousand dollars for two films and was scheduled to open at Basin Street East in New York the Friday of that same week. Careerwise things could not have been better for her. Today she has a star on Hollywood Blvd. and a Statue in Hollywood at Hollywood Gateway.
I love her! I have the movie Introducing Dorothy Dandridge w/ Halle Berry & I watch it alot. I also have watched her movies. Thank you for doing this vlog...
I really appreciate this video. I drove past her home that she once owned today. I'm a traveling nurse and my assignment is in Hollywood and today was My day off. So I went sight seeing.
She was SUPER PRETTY.....on the lofty level of her peers in Physical BEAUTY.......Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, Sophia Loren, Gina Lolobrigita, to name several, women who were almost as FINE OR equally...As DOROTHY DANDRIGE...💜
Thanks for the upload, an your right. She was one of my favorite black actresses as well. Halle did her justice in portaying her in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge Her Bio. She is like a modern day Dorothy !
How could anyone do that to such a beautiful talented woman’s statue. My granda and I loved watching her. He told me all about her campaigning and it was him who introduced me to Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman and the absolutely wonderful Hattie McDaniel who played alongside James Cagney and wiped the floor ( my favourite male actor) with him in Johnny come lately. I cannot thank my granda enough for giving me an education on these wonderful women. He always said that you should never just educate yourself on white History but black and other races and religions. Knowledge is power. He was and still is in my the most educated man I know to date. He was a coal miner with a thirst for knowledge anyway he could get it. He once told me “ the most intelligent man is the man who admit he knows nothing”. It took me a while to understand what he was saying but I got it in the end. Thank for this, he would have loved it.
Thank you so much for this and Im still astounded her plaque is missing. That should be reported to the Hollywood city council ASAP! Who in their right man could be so disrespectful and disgrace her like that....smh.
Gorgeous! I am 59 and and just learning about her. I’ve heard of her of course but looked her up to see who she was. I guess she passed when I was tiny. What is strange to me is that anyone young enough to be able to reach to paint her face would have to know enough about her to make such a hateful decision. My kids are in their 20’s and up to 32 and I know they don’t know who she was. Makes you wonder if it were some kind of p.r. Stunt. However it happened it is disgusting. Nonetheless, i am searching out her story and her movies. Love the apt. Building! Hoping to find pics of her’s on the inside. I hope they have stayed true to the architecture. Thank you for sharing!
