Wow. That was an awesome video. I have watched a couple of videos from others and had to cringe, but this was really settling for me to watch. You treat the lady with respect and compassion, whilst keeping her dignity as much as possible. Thanks for teaching us the true way of caring for fellow human beings. xx
We all know there are residents who don't let us even touch them lol. I've been punched and kicked the whole 9. Being a CNA is damn hard. Even the most simple of tasks can take an hour or more lol. Depending on the resident u are taking care of. I luv my job but damn it's hard amd stressful
During testing, you will have 30 minutes to complete five(5) skills. This technique took 11.54 minutes. Problems identified during the skill include: 1. raise the bed to a comfortable working height (it will save your back over the years. 2. 4 wash cloths for one skill, will exhaust the linen supply on the nursing unit 3. Side rail should be raised in preparation for turning 4. The incontinent pad should have been opened with the white, absorbent side against the skin 5. When washing the front, washing should progress from clean to dirty (was vaginal opening , labia minora then labia majora 6. Unsafe to leave the resident turned on her side, no side rail and not lower the bed 7. Shaking the wash cloth to flip it is unsanitary (especially so close to your face) 8. Why did you pour the water in the commode and not use the sink
Concerned about the lack of bedrails on the side the patient has been turned to. Plus the PSW has walked away several times while the patient has been turned on her side!
Are we allowed to leave the resident on his or her side when disposing soil linens and wash our hands? Would that be considered as unsafe if there is no bedrails?
She did not put the bed to her waist level to care for patient neither did she demonstrate lowering the bed after caring the patient. But others he did well
Thank you for the video. In my observation the left bed rail wasn’t put up before rolling to the left lateral side. When she steps away the resident could fall off of the bed.
i noticed in a bunch of these videos the cna wont touch the faucet without using a paper towel . just curious does she not beacuse shes not touching the patient again?
You suppose to use paper towel after washing your hands because you're still going to perform your skills or touch your patient as you mentioned. If you have finished your skill you can open the faucet without paper towel because at that point your hands are dirty and the faucet considered dirty also. I hope I answered your question. Thanks
I like how she gets straight to the point in her videos ..today is my skills test day
Very good for explaining ,and doing the skill🤝🏻

And during the positioning to the lateral side she should have bend the knee to make it easier and comfortable for the patient.

Make sure your resident is not at the edge of the bed. Always make sure he or she is at the middle of the bed . It will not be considered unsafe.
@@wonderhealthcareerinstitut8242 thank you

Miss Patty says, if you forgot to lower the bed you fail

do we have to talk through each steps we do during the state exam?
That's what wanted to know too
@@Chanel03_24 I didn't talk through each step and still passed lol and I just completed my first 12hr shift as a CNA phew
I think that's called indirect care.
If you forget to wash hands after removing the gloves does it make you fail the test?
@@renzsfunactivities1688 I didn't wash my hands after every skill because my instructor asked me not to...I just verbalized it and sanitized my hands
The difference is that with a real patience the story is much different special if the patient is heavy in weight and the soil smell
Excellent
Nice I'm learning some thing
Glad I could help

@@wonderhealthcareerinstitut8242 thanks so much for the reply!! x
Very good
Didn’t see her do arms legs under arm or stomach or back only saw her do private areas
i didn’t see u washing your hands
@0:33
So she verbalized it ,but when you're completing the skill in front of the Preceptor, you have to actually do it.
THIS IS VERY OLD WAY WITH THE TOWELS...
You suppose to clean the face first
But this is perineal care not bed bath , my thinking though
And hand second , and don’t live the patient alone on his side
Straight to the point like me. My skills test is tomorrow.
