I want to let you know Ms. jar that you help me SO much. I’ve been practicing in my head and verbalizing it outloud and simulating with my family members on every skill. I’m currently taking a CNA class and my teacher finally is making us do the skill tests and I’ve done 5 so far! What did she tell me? That I did it so smoothly, it’s by the book and she’s never seen anyone else do it the way I do it. Everyone else in my class is unfortunately struggling. I cannot help like stare at them to see if they’re right, but all I can do is just recommend you! Literally a life saver Ms. Jar. It means so much to me. Can you go on the other side to pull the linen protector through rather than lift her up with your arm? It would seem unsanitary to lift her up and have her bottom touch your arm.

I was so nervous but when I got this as one of my skills I knew I had it.The two things I got points for was not putting a protector back under the resident when done and something with my gloves but I’m not sure what that was. My other two skills were ROM left shoulder and counting pulse. I can’t begin to thank you for your videos💜💜Oh I’m in NY by the way.

Hi, Nikki! You are most welcome! I must respond to your question with a question!!! Where else should I squeeze out the excess water?!!! Not on the table or floor, right?!!! Unless the water in your basin becomes very sudsy, you may continue to use it. If it becomes too sudsy, you must empty and rinse the basin, then fill it again with clean water. The water in my basin never became sudsy.
I'm getting trained to be a cna, I have worked in a long term care facility for over a year now so I'm refreshing my brain on this job which I love dearly, just scares of state, so we have to tell the teacher exactly what we are doing for RCPs?

Will Prometric frown on me wearing gloves even if the skill doesnt call for it? i have no classroom experience since my old job signed me up for online training, so am worried about navigating the exam area. I passed my CNA exam. However, I was deducted for not replacing cold or soapy water. My instructor was pretty shocked about how much soap I put on the rag, lol .

Hi, Sonia! It has not changed. This skill starts with one already under the resident. It is assumed to be soiled. You will first remive and appropriately dispise of it in the souled linen hamper, then place a clean, dry water-proof pad under the resident. At the end of the skill, if that pad is stll dry, leave it in place. If it is wet, you will need to remove it and replace it with a clean, dry pad. I apologize for the confusion 😕. Shalom Nurse Jar, I was watching your Perineal Care video and was taken aback by seeing you put your arm up under the mannequin showing how to smooth out the linen protector, we would not be allowed to do such a thing in the various facilities, and group homes we work in nor a hospital. I don't think you need to be showing yourself doing that, you've been in the business long enough to have developed or discovered better ways that wouldn't get anyone in trouble if they mimicked your behavior. I don't think any of the women or men I have worked with in various facilities would have done that. Please be mindful that there are so many folks coming into the country nowadays and will think it's okay to do what they saw you do and it's not okay, we need to do it right and show how to do it right so it won't make the rest of us look bad. Not sure what state you are in but we can't put our arms up under residents in their beds like that, we'd have to go wash ourselves off with soap/water before moving to another resident to give care. Each Aithorized Admistrator has different skills and different required steps. You need to follow steps for your State's Authorized Administrator.

If the client is incontinent even when we cleaning them blue pad should be there all the times because when you turn them they will pee suddenly then the fitted sheet will be get wet. I recommend even when we change the dirty blue pad the same time need to be there the clean blue pad

If the client is incontinent even when we cleaning them blue pad should be there all the times because when you turn them they will pee suddenly then the fitted sheet will be get wet. I recommend even when we change the dirty blue pad the same time need to be there the clean blue pad
