  • This is my adoption story that aired on KFMB San Diego (channel 8) back in 1998. My mom put this piece together before she retired from being an anchorwoman to raise my sister and myself. She is currently a professor teaching broadcasting and journalism.
To clarify, I am the baby in this video.
My version of my adoption story: • Welcome Home my adoption

I bet she is a very good mother! i like the fact that she pointed out that "In china if you say your baby is really chubby, its a compliment not an insult, it means they are very healthy"

Hannah Rose Reviews i am in the process of checking , China no longer allows single to adopt except special needs children. The only countries I have found is Vietnam and Colombia, but they still prioritize married couples. I have raised my now 18 year old girl alone , she has never missed out and has turned out to be a smart, independent caring young woman. I'm sure I could do it all over again. So sad with the strict rules when so many children are waiting and are in need of love and care .

I want to adopt when I’m older. Is that still possible? Could I still adopt a baby or toddler?
CURRENT EDIT: I’m going to adopt from China, that’s where I’m gonna get my little Olivia and my perfect Finn. That’s where I need to get my kids and start my family. I’m going to immerse them in their Chinese culture by taking them there, or taking them to Chinatown, and I’ll have them learn Mandarin on Duolingo, and they’ll learn about Chinese people and clothes. If they ever want to find the people who made them, they can. They have a right to know where as well as _who_ they come from.

I am so happy for you. It's good to immerse them in their culture to some extent, but be careful about overdoing it. For example, my mom used to always make me and my sister wear cheumsung dresses which we fought her on every year. However, I recommend getting your kids into Chinese school and piano lessons early and not letting them quit. Mandarin is becoming a primary language and learning music is just easier when you're young. I wish you luck!

The biological parents should be given sex education and contraception to prevent all these babies being abandoned

I just dont understand the missing birth control issue in China. Why? Geez. The amount of abandoned babies is unsettling

    • @ciannap-tq2nf

That lack of birth control is why I got loving parents who love me and are helping me get a college degree.

Funny thing is, they keep throwing these beautiful girls away and in 40 -50 years there wont be any women for the men anymore. Then what??
