Extraordinary performance. Masterful display of an art and a people's fundamental mental edge .This pianist mastered the determination and confidence of these songs, never backed off. Both Russians and Chinese have that in common. Even in the Ode and the Folk songs, every note is a statement. Beautiful orchestra.

What an epic piece of music! What a performance! The resilience of a nation is etched in every note of the music. This music is as relevant today as it was first conceived. When China fought the pandemic last year, it was fighting an all-out war. The war was fought and won by the same spirit manifested by their predecessors in 黃河!

The performance by the pianist and the orchestra is great. I also like the interpretation. The audio is not very good, maybe due to the equipment and arrangement of the the microphones? But the visual background is tawdry and distracting, completely superfluous. Don't we have a saying of "drawing a snake with feet"? Let's just focus on the sublime music and the performance by the virtuosic pianist.

Lang x 2 is at his best when he played Beethoven's 4th and 5th as well as Liszt's 1st concertos - better than most of the big names (if not all of them) that I know of. His Beethoven 5th is arguably the best. And for that alone, we have to give credit to Lang. He is not the best interpreter for Chopin, Tchaikovsky, or Rachmaninoff concertos, and not very good at sonatas. But we have to remember that no one can do everything.
