Dude i have no fucking idea how or why you are still able to play this game. They imo ruined hanzo's playstyle completely, literally just a worse version of sojourn s1 but doesn't even feel skillfull to play

The way hanzo is right now it's really frustrating to lose to mercy hanzo because there are a bunch of high rank hanzo players stuck in lower rank lobbies so you either roll them or get rolled when they have hanzo
People will ALWAYS hate a character that has potential one shot capability.
@YoGibran But that's the funny thing. He was literally nerfed to the point that he cannot 1 shot 250s without a Mercy boost, and it somehow made people hate him MORE than when he could 1 shot on his own
That first part is more a commentary on mercy than it is on hanzo.
Its just insane how much balancing nightmares it takes just to not accept that mercy is the problem. And then the dps gets all the hate instead of the hate being directed at the actual problem in that fight, the mercy ... And thats coming from a support main, its just insane how much balancing gets ruined because of that one hero.
As a flex player I agree but dmg boost and Rez are the defining parts of her kit and removing them out would be like removing hook from hog or blink from tracer. Her and zen aren’t really designed for 5v5
@@broadbunny5472 removing something is always the last resort, i agree. However theyre not even really trying to fix it. Since you brought up zen, it got a lot better when they implemented the discord cooldown imo. Showing that playing around with stuff like that can create a good middle ground
@@thetaco_007 Could it help if the dmg boost will downscale the more you use it on one character and in a period of time, it will be max again or something like that? It will force mercy to play with everyone and not pocketing only one player.

No need to remove stuff. Just rework them. Remove the ability to hold heal and dmg boost infinitely. Give it a weapon overheating mechanism. Revives should lock the revived character in place for a second or two while remaining vulnerable to damage. This gives time for enemies to finish off the revived character if it is done at open. This will punish all those who attempt to revive disregarding the location or situation.
This video felt like a why Mercy is the MOST HATED HERO in season 9, lol.

The good old days. When people were scared to run in a straight line and repeaking corners. I dont even have a duo to mercy pocket me so i guess im shit out of luck until blizzard decides they want to make him skillful again or put hanzo down with dignity and just give him a gun and make him hitscan to complete his transformation.
In this season we still talking skill? Is hitscan skill when your shots are 50% more likely to hit? I would say Hanzo takes more skill and prediction to even play in this meta when even Junkrat can hit more than you.

Honestly just make habzo do one damage with a bow and give him a dash that damages on contact, give him a secondary ability that fires 3 projectiles in a line or cone, and make his ult an install that gives him a strong melee attack for a bit
Also give him s new ability that can deflect projectiles sometimes

I’m in high plat on Hanzo and feel completely stuck… teammates rarely follow up on my headshot damage so it’s just wasted. Even if I plan ahead, predict enemy movement, and get that shot, they just hide and then they’re full health. He’s so much less enjoyable to play now.
i think rather then removing his one shot, they should've made it take longer to charge up. that would've probably been a better nerf, to appease their "less one shot" mindset, while not gutting him as a character.
ikr, i love how i gotta draw my one arrow while somebody can unload a full clip of random spray or 3 hitscan bodyshots hoping i land a headshot that doesn't even kill, thats definetely the right direction

Hitscans being piss easy to land feels totally fair and fun and not annoying and boring at all. And widow being allowed to oneshot still but hanzo not, and junkrat not being able to 2 shot are very fair balancing, especially when widow has a point and click projectile sized one shot that doesnt even need to hit the head to hit the head

Flats, in his most recent live stream talking with the game director (or something?) in which the gd basically promised two reworks, coming up (one of them hopefully very soon!). Unfortunately though the thing that deprives me of hoping hanzo would get a rework is the recent changes with Hanzo which makes it really seem that the devs feel that Hanzo, for some god-forsaken reason feel that Hanzo is in a good place right now. He is not, and the percentage of players playing him dropping by 50% in overbuff also makes it clear players don't like the character

I remember those 2 days where Hanzo was disabled for some reason, i had never had so much fun playing Overwatch. Where i didn't have to constantly be on my guard (not that it matters if you're on your guard or not) from a random arrow with a hitbox the size of a tree trunk getting within the same postcode as my head and one shotting me.
Nobody ever talks about this, but I think AfterDarkCat always plays an amazing mercy in your streams

This video seems to be more about Mercy than Hanzo.
Mercy is the issue rn. Dmg boost should have a reset or limit for e.g 4 seconds per char with like a 6 seconds cooldown or something.
I’m a new player and even after hearing that hanzo has constantly been ripped apart in favor of widowmaker by balance changes I still play him and think he’s really good, I just had my first game clutch in which I used my ult on the entire enemy team right before their payload reached the finish and then camped it for the rest 5 seconds of the match

Not sure if you were talking about Sha Lin (The one with the bow) but he can't headshot in Paladins (Projectiles in general cannot headshot). His normal arrows take like 40% of a sqishies hp tho and he has cc.

I got a juicy triple hs kill as Hanzo earlier, 2 kills of which were mid air targets. Got to love stopping a Genji as he ults midair. In fact, ult denying as Hanzo is fun in general lmao. Like when you perfectly predict when an Ashe is about to ult and she dies before she can fully finish her sentence... like killing her before she can even say Bobs name. "Bo...eughhh".
Or a perfectly timed ult deny against a Sojourn is nice too, "This ends...eughh" You're right Sojourn, it does end.
But yeah like you're saying in the vid, pocket Mercy Hanzo is a god send when playing Hanzo but an absolute nightmare to face.

What I heard & saw was that pocketed stuff can be overbearing. Which has always been the case to much more effect with heroes like Ashe & Sojourn & Echo & Pharah.
What I strongly believe devs will get out of this, if they come across this, is that Hanzo's overpowered, it's still against our vision, nerf that bitch. 2:18

I rmb sb once commented on another ow vid (discussing the issue with sojourn + mercy being too op) that mercy should be seen as a litmus test for dps balance and I agree. From what I observe, the issue comes abt if there's a significant performance diff btw the dps with and without mercy pocket, AND if the dmg boosted dps does extremely well that is hard to counter. That will lead into mercy being a necessary pick for that dps, ONLY pocket that dps cus otherwise the dps is shit, team having only one support for heals, and saltiness everywhere.

Sometimes I'll play mercy when I'm solo queueing and the other team insults us as if me and ashe/hanzo/sojourn/etc always play together. Like relax, I put my blue beam on some guy and it worked so I kept doing it, it's not that complicated

@@hongomybongo9684 movements to dodge damage and be consistent with the dps you are pocketing. Mercy cant defend herself well like kiriko or lucio, or even moira, or the whole damn support so the only way to survive is moving around.

@@TLO_Yuri i dont think damage boost is a problem at all, yes one shot is annoying but it takes precise aim to get them so often which is why u arent seeing a mercy hanzo duo like every game bcs something that op would be meta right???, on top of that dmg boost isnt all that compared to dealing damage. and ofc theyre gonna die, its literally a 1v2. imagine any other support and hanzo vs another dps

Baptiste = Insane sustain, all the time in the world to land shots
Moira = Same as Baptiste, maybe to a lesser extent as half the sustain is on resource.
Brig = Is Brig.
And yet none of these come close to the devastation of a Mercy-pocketed DPS who can aim. Especially now with the DPS passive. Even more so on heroes that used to one-shot on their own, and some heroes are now even better with the blue beam.
Even more devastating if the Mercy also knows how to help the entire team when they need it
@@TLO_Yuri i’m just saying damage boost barely makes a difference, it really just depends on the dps and that’s only because that dps is good. they could still get those kills without damage boost. if everyone were like hanzo and really needed dmg boost then i’d understand but even then it still depends on how good they are are and how much your second support can heal on their own

im struggling playing hanzo with the aimshot nerf, but I dont have a mercy pocket damage boost to make it worth it anymore. Spaming storm arrows is the only way to kill anything these days. hanzo no headshot kill, widow still headshots everything. Blizzard makes no sense.
Revert the sniper changes and give hanzo 5 extra damage, bro u said exactly what I’ve wanted since these changes got made😂😭 widow is dumb op in my games, and I don’t think I’ve seen any hanzos like at all (diamond 1-2) it’s insane how useless he feels without a pocket, and it just isn’t worth a lot of the time, not everyone is as cracked as Arrge sensei. I'm coming up to some spare time in my life and I was considering coming back to OW learning they too away Hanzo's 1 shot is egregious. Hes the only hero I have fun playing and I only play solo so a pocket mercy is out of the question.

As a Hanzo main I uninstalled the game a month ago.
Seems like they are ok with this. Mercy needs a dmg boost target to get max value, and naturally she will work well with characters when the boost flips the breakpoints. But they left Widow with her one shot, no pocket needed so who knows.
Now I have less hope of enjoying my Phara in rankings, without a pocket against all the counters I have, they simply force me to play a character that I had no interest in, having so many more limited against the meta.

Always love your vids Arrge. Your enemies are just the cherry on top when they feel the need to talk trash at you for actually being good with a character. Also, in my opinion, I believe what you're doing is, in fact, fair. Mostly because of one simple reason. In 90% of those fights, everyone was chasing a boosted and healed Hanzo, instead of the mercy that was doing the boosting. If they hard focused her, then went after you. They wouldn't have struggled as much. That's just my opinion though.
The problem is just the insane mobility and life regen of mercy, she even self heals from healing others now

It's your own fault with Mercy. You complained about her having consistent healing ability and hard to hit in the air, blah blah blah nerf Mercy. Oh and she has rez we need you to nerf that too.
With the increased health, larger hit box, and dps passive it forces Mercy to focus far more on blue beam and not exposing herself in the air where she can get blasted out of the sky.
Play it safe behind cover and/or blue beam mostly one dps. You are also playing against two people working together that will always give you an advantage in a game where most people don't work together anyway.
All these changes make Mercy more boring and unfun to play. As a Mercy main, 5 days into S9 and I went 100% into playing just dps.
