Thank you so much for this video. Im a 52 year old woman and I have just saved myself about £450 by watching this video. Couldnt get the filter out, so took out the pump to find 5 nails 2 coins 2 bits of fabric plus all sorts of bits of plastic, gunk and the rest all clocking up the pump. All reinstated and now back working as normal. Thank you very much indeed, great video, simple and brilliant.

Thank you so very much! A bra wire had been stuck in the drum. I removed the heating element on a Miele and after much sweat, some tears and your inspiration I am pleased to tell: the machine is in full swing again! Could not have done it without you!
Great video. I can add one additional tip: if you remove one of the drum paddles (there are videos on how to do this) you will find that you can feed the fibre optic camera (also called an endoscope) through the mounting slots for the paddle, or you can shine a torch through one slot whilst looking directly, or with a mirror, through other slots, or even through the perforations in the drum, as you rotate the drum. Using this technique I found a key I was looking for, stuck in the entrance to the sump pipe, and I was then able to grab it with a pair of forceps and manoeuvre it out through one of the slots. This method has the advantage that you don't have to remove anything other than a drum paddle, most of which come off very easily when you know how, and if it doesn't work you still have all the techniques shown in this excellent video at your disposal.
I just fixed my washing machine 1 miute! It was totally stuck by a sock! Bless you and your videos. This is sec9nd time you helped me fix ...your videos are priceless and saved me a lot of money!
I watched about 4 repair videos to find out how to get a bra wire out of the machine. This was by far the best and I managed to fix my washing machine. Thank you
Very extensive yet useful information compared to other videos. You're also making it much easier to understand the disassembling, where to start and which steps are essential an must not be skipped if you're disassembling your machine anyway. It's nice to have this knowledge on hand now, not only to save money on repairs by a technician but also to make your machine last longer yourself. My washing machine hasn't been draining properly even though I checked the filter in the front and drained it manually through the small tube. Hopefully these instructions might resolve the issue, perhaps I'm able to retrieve some lost socks as well. Thanks in advance! I'm pretty sure this will do the trick for me as I'm going through the positive feedback in the comments🙂
Great comment about how the industry, like every other, profits from planned obsolescence forcing us into a cycle of needless consumption and waste. Conscious, conscientious people like yourself help prevent a lot of waste, save us money and deserve our gratitude. Thank you, sir.

Thank you so much for this video, it was really helpful. Just removed the heating element to retrieve an obstruction from under the drum …..it was a new £20 note, so more than a little chuffed. Thank you so much!
Absolutely brilliant instructions. Was really apprehensive about attempting this having no experience in washing machine DIY. Have CDA integrated machine so wasn't sure if heating element in front or back. So tried front first, taking everything off, only to discover it was at the back. So pulled machine out, back off and hey presto there it was. 20 mins later, all removed and machine back in position. Many thanks for 5 star tutoring, saved me ££££'s in callout charge.
Endoscope camera is cheap and great method so is the coat hanger hook. Also, some of these cheap endoscope type cameras come with hooks and magnet attachments too. Thank u, a very nicely made easy to understand and detailed video.
Very, helpful indeed. Saved me so much time as I was able to do the entire job on our Bosch Maxx 7 from the front. If I hadn't watched this first, I would have unnecessarily taken out the dryer that is on top, disconnected all the plumbing, taken the back off and then discovered my mistake!

Just watched your information demo and managed to unscrew the filter and found 2 hair clips and broken bra wire - fingers crossed as no other noise when spinning the empty drum.thank you
I was surprised by the portuguese SuperBock beer at the end of the video. Didn't know you had those in the UK. Greetings from Portugal and thank you for these tips.
Your video is probably one of the best I've seen on RUclips, informative, easy to follow and full of good tips. I found a piece of Lego! My problem now is that, although its all neatly back together, the drum's stopped working; it spins by hand and the machine buzzes but it seems to have lost its powe... advice needed please!
Suddenly our Siemens IQ700 WM started making a racket when it was going into spin mode. Paused it removed the clothes and found nothing. when turning around the drum there was something moving inside but no big asymmetry when it spun. put in small batch and spun them to dry still with the noise. the second batch went smooth. thought the trouble passed over. After a day or two put another set for washing and near about end of spin cycle the noise reappeared and it suddenly went quiet like something was thrown out. i guessed something is wrong and in my search came cross your video. From your video I realized it could be a costly affair to not to check the machine. opened up the heater and found a ton of lint, threads clinging to the heater. no metal objects inside though. then opened up the drain pump and lo perhaps the culprits were there. few cloth tags, a couple of plastic collar tabs of my shirts and small tooth picks left in the pockets (to press lift buttons in these covid days). cleared them up and the machine is smooth now for two cycles. hope it would It saved me near to 100 GBP to the service man. thank you very much.

@@How-to-repair by the way, when i looked at that beko, i wonder what RPM variant is that (no need to tell the model) because i do know it, but it's kinda hard to see it tho
Excellent all done and now washing, mine is a Bosh front entry. Retrieved 4 bra wires as advised cleaned out the sump hoses which had some small bits of bra wire.
Thank you for your videos, really helpful and i just found a couple holes in my plastiuc drum enclosure... so will get the soldering gun and hope I can save my washing machine... and maybe the girlfriend will finally learn to check pockets before doing the laundry!!
thank you very very much. Paul. it's so helpful video. I have 2 questions :1-what the goal of the ball inside the drain hose? 2-how to test the NTC senser if the washing machine isn't heating?
It serves a few purposes If your washing machine was connected to the sink unit this ball with stop drainage water entering the drum, therefore stopping bad odours. The next is to keep the detergent in the drum.On a start sequence the washing machine fills with water and the ball seals the drum of by floating to the top this will show you how a ntc sensor works www.how-to-repair.com/help/how-a-ntc-sensor-works-on-a-washing-machine/ Iam Glad we could help you Please remember to subscribe to our channel ruclips.net/user/Apart4u Remember to Shop with www.how-to-repair.com and it would help us by posting the video or website on your timeline. I watched this video twice, after washing my partner's hearing aid by mistake and then it got stuck under the drum! I tried to grab it, but it fell under the drum - I later learned I had pulled it apart. I tried the vacuum in the hose behind the trap - and managed to suck out the battery but not the other (very expensive) electronic processor. After the repair company I used before never called back, I decided to be brave, take out the Phillips screwdriver and unscrew the ring and pull off the big black (sump?) hose at the base of the drum accessible on our LG HE compact washer from the bottom front panel. I managed to get my phone up the hole and take a few pics to see where this thing was. Then I reached in and felt around with my fingers and grabbed that expensive sound processor part! Then I poked around at the location where pictures showed hook around the ear part had hooked onto something - and I got that too. Then I carefully replaced the black hose and screwed the ring on tight and ran a load. So thanks for saving me $350.00 which is what they charged me the last time to replace the $20 motor (NYC prices). THANKS SO MUCH!

Very good video. My machine is the Bosch Maxx Comfort WFR 2840. It has a panel on the bottom so it is difficult to access from the bottom. I've removed a wire that was jamming the pump filter. Than I've try to check if there was not any other in the drum checking through the heater door. Unfortunately wile I was trying to taking the wires out I have pulled out the NTC probe. Can I put it again and expect that the large rubber gasket do his job or should I put something in it in order to avoid any leakage?

Thanks for the video, helped me pinpoint the problem. Noise was caused by some plastic type wrap i'm guessing was part of the motor, will that be safe to remove?
Great information 👍 BUT WHY ARN'T WE TOLD ABOUT THIS BEFORE WE BUY FRONT LOADERS??? I have done extensive reasearch on front Loaders!! Couldn't find any information in any manuals? Even sales people have stated they have NEVER HEARD OF THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. Thank you.
Most of the manufacturers of only interested in selling you the appliance in the first place they let you worry about the problem later this is not always good for the environment or for the customer's pocket I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way
Great video! I just need to ask a question. I have a denka washing machine ..i removed all the screws but the front part wont get off completely. The upper side of the front isn’t going off obly lower area. And there are no visible screws. Why is that?
Great video, thanks. I'm still chasing a noise in my GE front loader that sounds like a like "scrunch/ticking" sound. It's had the noise now for a while (over a year) and seems to be slowly getting worse, but there's no slop at all in the tub bearings. Wonder if I should take the belt off and spin it to see if it's the motor? Thanks again, really appreciate the time you put into the video.
Thank you. My machine is a Zanussi, but once I managed to work out how to get the back off I was able to follow your instructions to remove the heating element and found an offending bra wire.
Hi, thank you for a very detailed and helpful video. But I have som question. My family and I assume there is a bra wire stuck somewhere between the inner and outer drum. But we are not 100% sure. There are some clicking or kind of "hitting" sound that can be heard during the ending centrifuging at high speed. But it doesn't always have that sound. Sometimes it just runs without any special sound or problem. So where do you think the problem exist? Is there something stuck around the drum? Do we need to remove the heating element or?
Hey thanks for the video. Any tips for a Bosch Wash Dryer 24/7 Exxcel. Filter cap is stuck but there is no bottom clip, just a small round one. Struggling to remove the whole body of the unit!

They may weld it because a machine can do that while a human has to be Installed by human hand. Also it makes they dryer last far less than if it was screwed in making more money for the company when you are forced to now purchase another dryer years earlier. Great video stay safe!
I’ve had my Hotpoint in bits following this video. Took out heater element, sump etc had sink unblocked all over the drum to check for a stray sock etc but can’t find a darn thing but it’s noisy on spin and if you spin the drum by hand you can feel resistance randomly nothing lodged in door or between rubber and metal and can see drum through hole where element goes and totally clear. I’m at a loss, any ideas :)
I've tried correcting my high speed spinning cycle Samsung front end 2014 washing machine. Cking with multi-meter the drain pump/cleaning filter and pump, replacing door lock switch. Still the high speed spinning cycle does not work. Any pointers out there? Your videos are very helpful.

Hi there! I replaced one of these elements and I didn't see any bracket inside the tub that is supposed to hold the front of the element in place, it was very very hard to remove the old element. Is it possible I broke the bracket removing the old element? But I shaked the machined and I Cant hear a broken bracket or anything rattling around inside. Now I realised the bracket clips onto the element before you put the element in. So I am going to now buy the bracket separate. So my question is, is it just a matter of removing heating element and clipping the holding bracket on to the element and sliding it back in place? Does the bracket just slide into a slot inside the drum to hold everything in place? Thanks so much!
A small piece of metal from the end of a shoelace got caught in one of the back holes of my machine. I tried to remove the metal with a set of pliers. When I got it halfway through, it slipped and fell in between the inner and outer drums. I ran a cycle after with a high spin and it ran fine. Should I be concerned about the metal being stuck inside the drums? It didn't come out into the filter after I ran the cycle.
The paddles on my machine broke, I was concerned about the snapped plastic being stuck between the drums. Indesit advised me to run it empty and keep checking the filter to flush anything out. I was hesitant about this advice. Do you agree with them or should I get the machine checked?
I really doubt any large bits of plastic have got themselves lodged in the drum, any bits that fall out should end up in the filter unit please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
Hi, my tumble dryer has this problem except its a condenser that spins both ways. It spins clockways, and then it stops when it changes direction to anti clockwise and sounds exactly like this and when it's time to change again it starts spinning again clockwise. Is it still the capacitor

Thank you very much !! I just took out bra wire by myself. Your instructions are very clear. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You, good sir, just saved me buying a new washer.
Very weird noise turned out to be a bra wire stuck between inner and outer drum. I removed the heating element, which i had trouble doing earlier, because i didnt know the loosen and tap trick. Thank you so much for the video!

how-2-repair.com hi where is the link for the socket wrench please.Cheers:)
I watched this video and my washing machine started working again by itself. Amazing.
Just watched your information demo and managed to unscrew the filter and found 2 hair clips and broken bra wire - fingers crossed as no other noise when spinning the empty drum.thank you
Hi, do you know what the name of the tool at 8.53 is? Many thanks
Great videos ive been repairing for 24 years and ive learnt some bits
Great video. I’ve learned a lot. So carefully explained. Probably just about anyone can do it now without needing a professional. Thank you
Followed your video and got the pump out, unblocked it and put it back together. Thank you
Love the borescope. Some forensics going on here. 😄👌🏾Legend!
This chap just saved me a lot of money I don’t really have. 1 pint of beer is on its way 😉👍
Thank you very much for making the effort of showing us all how to repair.
My problem now is that, although its all neatly back together, the drum's stopped working; it spins by hand and the machine buzzes but it seems to have lost its powe... advice needed please!
one must also put back the driving belt correctly,
My machine still dose not work
Thank you for the video. Have you considered using a telescopic magnet rather than a hook screwdriver for retreiving the debris from under the drum.
I am so thankful for people like you. I would have no idea!
From your video I realized it could be a costly affair to not to check the machine.
opened up the heater and found a ton of lint, threads clinging to the heater. no metal objects inside though. then opened up the drain pump and lo perhaps the culprits were there. few cloth tags, a couple of plastic collar tabs of my shirts and small tooth picks left in the pockets (to press lift buttons in these covid days). cleared them up and the machine is smooth now for two cycles. hope it would
It saved me near to 100 GBP to the service man. thank you very much.
Thanks for the video, it took me over an hour but I got the bra wire out eventually 😂 couldn’t have done it without your instruction!

Excellent all done and now washing, mine is a Bosh front entry. Retrieved 4 bra wires as advised cleaned out the sump hoses which had some small bits of bra wire.
Thank you for your videos, really helpful and i just found a couple holes in my plastiuc drum enclosure... so will get the soldering gun and hope I can save my washing machine... and maybe the girlfriend will finally learn to check pockets before doing the laundry!!
excellent video, most thorough and informative, saved me a call out, thanks very much
thank you very very much. Paul. it's so helpful video. I have 2 questions :1-what the goal of the ball inside the drain hose?
2-how to test the NTC senser if the washing machine isn't heating?
It serves a few purposes
If your washing machine was connected to the sink unit this ball with stop drainage water entering the drum, therefore stopping bad odours. The next is to keep the detergent in the drum.On a start sequence the washing machine fills with water and the ball seals the drum of by floating to the top
this will show you how a ntc sensor works www.how-to-repair.com/help/how-a-ntc-sensor-works-on-a-washing-machine/

very helpful video.thx. my washing machine just started to make a noise just when its on the spin cycle
Iam Glad we could help you.

Thank you! Going to try this. And hopefully I can wash again today. 😊
Your video helped so much washing machine is working great. Thank you so much.
Its probably a coin or a bra wire... i hope by now you fixed your washer and dryer , cheers mate
Your a very good teacher

Thank you. My machine is a Zanussi, but once I managed to work out how to get the back off I was able to follow your instructions to remove the heating element and found an offending bra wire.
Excellent information... thanks for sharing

Thank you, love this video , helped me so much

A small piece of metal from the end of a shoelace got caught in one of the back holes of my machine. I tried to remove the metal with a set of pliers. When I got it halfway through, it slipped and fell in between the inner and outer drums.
I ran a cycle after with a high spin and it ran fine. Should I be concerned about the metal being stuck inside the drums?
It didn't come out into the filter after I ran the cycle.
I think that more easy to try to get drainpipe out &get it clean
The paddles on my machine broke, I was concerned about the snapped plastic being stuck between the drums. Indesit advised me to run it empty and keep checking the filter to flush anything out. I was hesitant about this advice. Do you agree with them or should I get the machine checked?
I really doubt any large bits of plastic have got themselves lodged in the drum, any bits that fall out should end up in the filter unit please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
