So cute!! I am currently turning my rosin printer into a sublimation printer and I can’t wait to get started!! I’ve been designing like crazy while waiting lol 😂 ❤️
Hey Jennifer! You're correct, once the sublimation process takes place, no further action is needed, it's permanent and won't wash out or fade (except maybe direct sunlight). Hope this helps! ---Becky
Thanks for sharing! I’ve used my mug press so far to press four skinny tumblers. They came out really good. Although I did mess up one. I’m going to get a convection oven to see how I would do with it.
Hey! How did the bottom of your tumbler turn out?? I have been taping the top and bottom before shrink wrap. I get a variety of end results, just curious if you have a photo of the bottom. Thanks for this video and all your others!!
Hi. Thank you for your video. Its very informative. Which oven did you use? I am just getting ready to start with sublimation but I am still unsure on which is a good oven to use.
Hey Cheryl! So ghosting can happen when the image moves slightly, usually upon removal. You end up with a double-imprint of the design. So you always want to try to remove in one swift pull. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Awesome, thorough, video! When you were about to peel off the hot sublimation paper, you said to do so very carefully to prevent ghosting. What exactly did you mean by that? If the paper rubs when you're removing it will it smear? Thanks in advance!

Becky, did you have a special tumbler? If you had a mug press would you still do the same steps (except the oven). I have not seen the sleeve you shrink wrapped. Thank you.
Hey Judy! This tumbler is specially coated for sublimation, it was purchased from Conde as well as the wraps. I believe the wrap size is 9" x 4". I'll put some links down below for you. I have used mug presses in the past and while they worked well for the coffee mugs I was working with, I find the convection oven much more versatile. Becky question?? I Purchase 20oz skinny tumbler sublimation from design bundles are they already sized ? also can you put that in mug press with heat shrink?
Hey Michelle! Yes, most of the tumbler wraps are already sized to fit your tumbler (which I personally think is amazing LOL). You do not use the shrink wrap with the mug press, you don't need it since the mug press applies the pressure you need. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Lynette! Most double-wall tumblers, as a rule, are not dishwasher safe. Sublimation itself is dishwasher safe without any sealing, but check with the manufacturer on the tumbler itself. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi Allison! Heat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Lower the temperature to around 400 degrees when you put the tumbler inside. Place a thermometer inside to verify the temperature if you don't have a digital one! - Dawn 🙂
Love, love this video! I have a question. If I am putting a smaller logo on the mug and keeping the rest the original color, can I cut the sublimation paper shorter and not cover the entire mug? Will the shrink wrap end up sticking to it if I have 2 inches at the base of the mug not covered by sub paper?
Hey Kelly! Yes, you should be fine to use smaller pieces of sublimation paper. If the shrink wrap sticks to any part of your tumbler, then I would say it's the shrink wrap and not the tumbler/project. I have had some shrink wrap that stuck before and I just switched back to the wraps from Conde. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Becky, Love Love all the helpful videos. I am having a hard time with sublimation on curved tumblers. I put my measurements in the warp panel but when i print it out the image still does not fit all the way around and isn't smooth. Can you please advise me on what I am doing wrong????? This is frustrating lol
Hey Michelle, can you elaborate a little when you say it isn't smooth? I would say this will be a process of adjusting your measurements. For designs to match up in the back, I'll be honest, it's much easier to purchase 😂 but slowly adjusting your measurements and then printing again will help you to slowly figure out what works best for you. I'm sorry I don't have a quick fix for you, I sure wish I did. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles I have a tumbler that has a curve. I take the required measurements and input them into the warp panel. When I print it out either it does not go around the whole tumbler and/or the paper does not seem to line up so that the image and background is around the tumbler even. Sorry I may not be explaining my self correctly.
Im new to this, just bought all of my items this week. How would I do the sizing if I do not have the feature that allows you to put in the measurements?
Hey Talyn, if you're new to sublimation and sizing, I would recommend starting off with a completed design or template first. I'll link a free design you can download and check out. I'm planning on giving sublimation a try. As far as I understand, the tumbler needs to be coated with a special coating to accept the ink well. Is powder-coat suitable for sublimating tumblers? I actually already powder coat at home. I'm wondering if I can prepare my own cups by coating them with a white powder coat? The powders are usually made from polyester or polyurethane. Do you think this would work well?
Hey Yvonne! This can absolutely work, a lot of crafters use powder coating to make their own sublimation products. The only thing I can't answer is about the type of powder, I'm not sure if it needs to be specific for sublimation or if regular white would work. I bet the vendor for you powder could answer that with certainty. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Julie! No sealing required and these are much less maintenance than epoxy tumblers. You still don't want to put these in the dishwasher (most stainless steel tumblers are like this) but the sublimation design is absolutely permanent. Unless the powder coating chips off (it technically can happen), it's very durable. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Monique, I think the shrink wrap helps with that, making sure it seals good in these areas. You'll get ghosting with loose pressure because the ink is trying to escape. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Me again!! I keep getting the line on the side of my tumbler where the paper meets. I pull as tight as I can but cant seem to get rid of that stupid line. Any ideas???
Two questions..... I am new to sublimation and infusible ink. What is a good printer to get that won’t break the bank because I am on a very limited budget? Also will this work in a regular oven as well and if so what temp and time for that?
The cheapest, most convenient printer that works well for sublimation is Epson ET-2720. However, you will also need sublimation ink and sublimation paper. You cannot use regular printer ink.
Hey Kim, you might find my comparison video helpful. It gives you the run-down of what I consider the two major contenders for sublimation printing. I would not sublimate in a regular oven, it's not recommend to mix your craft baking with your food baking. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/9C_RJr6lzoE/видео.html
Love your tutorials 😍. I have my first sub ready to go in my convection oven. So 360 for 6 minutes and no flipping? Do we have to put something on the rack? Thank you
Hey Lora, if you haven't subbed yet, in hindsight I do recommend flipping halfway through. I did have a cork trivet on the rack but not sure if that truly makes a difference as many crafters leave the tumbler straight on the rack. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles I ended up that night putting my convection on 375 for 4 minutes it is beautiful 😍. I'm addicted but lol no tumblers available anywhere to sub
Hi! I'm new to sublimation and I was wondering what type of tumbler do you use for sub? Is there a specific one? I'm using stainless steel and can't seem to get the ink to transfer. Any insight would be fantastic. Thank you and awesome video!
Hey Jason! You do need special coated tumblers for sublimation. This one is from Conde, they have white and stainless steel to choose from, I'll link you to the white ones here. Hope this helps! ---Becky dyetrans.com/details.php?item_no=TUM217
The sublimation tumblers that I got off of Amazon are what I would call a matte finish and all the sublimation tumblers that I am seeing on your video's are shiny so I was wondering if there is a coating that you have to put over them after you put the design on the tumblers or where, what do you look for when buying the sublimation tumblers?
Hey Verena, these are from Conde and the only ones I've ever used are from there. I'm not sure about a matte finish tumbler, but other than Epoxy, I don't think there is a durable coating you can use to gloss the finish. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi Becki: I love your tumbler. My question is if you mess up on a design, is there a way to refinish the cup like with spray paint then resub or maybe epoxy on it?
Hey Marjorie, I have a tutorial coming on this actually. You can reheat your tumbler at 400 degrees for an hour and 15 minutes, it will gas-off your ink to a faded look, and then you can resub a darker image on top. It's not perfect but it's better than tossing a messed up tumbler. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Your video has inspired my son and me to start doing some sublimation! Do you know if there is another program that has the cone like warp in the Silhouette Studio? I'm not ready to upgrade to the design edition. Thanks!!
Yay! I'm so happy you are giving jumping on in to Sublimation, it's a great craft! I don't know of any other design software, I do almost everything in Silhouette Studio. BUT, you can purchase designs that are already curved. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles Thank you! I have one more quick question. How did you know what temp to put the oven on and how long to leave the tumbler in? I'm not seeing guides on this anywhere. Thanks again!
Hey, great question! I usually try to start with a square that is similar to the size of my tumbler. For example, I'll go ahead and measure around my tumbler and from top to bottom. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi Sonja! Our apologies for the delay in response and we hope you've found the answer but if you are still having any troubles, please feel free to write in to mail@designbundles.net or join us in a live chat so we can help with your next project! - Dawn
Mind blown 🤯 I did not know you can trace by color with business edition. What type of sublimation printer do you use? Also, this is the best demonstration by far ❤
Is this software silhouette? I cannot figure out how to print an image and when I resized the image on silhouette to the tumblr (20oz skinny) the image was very very slim skinny didn’t look right …
HI there! Yes, we are using Silhouette Studio in the video. If you would like, send a screenshot in to mail@designbundles.net and I would be happy to help! 😊
Hey Donna! No epoxy needed. If epoxy is bothering you, check into Crystalac. I have not used it myself, but I hear a lot of people talk about it in the tumbler groups. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Ghosting happens when your item is still hot and your image shifts while removing. Basically the paper touches back down and gives a slightly lighter imprint on your sublimated item. It can also happen if the print shifts during pressing. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hello, I have watched many videos on conical warp however the dimensions I put in will not stay.... the abc horizontal goes from 10.427 to 8.8 once I put in other dimensions. Please help.
Hey Yousi, if you purchase a design made to fit the tumbler, it should import and print the correct size. If not, you can also find SVG templates that will help you size and crop down your design. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Can you use your regular kitchen oven for this? Mine is not convection. I have seen a few of these videos and those little convection overs are pricey!
Hey Amberlee, I wouldn't recommend your kitchen oven, you don't want to mix food ovens with crafting ovens. You can usually find one online for around $60-80, look for a convection toaster oven. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Tricia! I don't believe you can get very good results in a mug press, but I could be wrong. You will have to unlatch the mug press and then move it and press it again? You only need the oven if your mug press is unsuccessful, the convection oven is what you use to apply the heat. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Becky, you are SUCH an enabler you! How do you manage to be just ahead of me on what I want to learn! :) Remember me from CC? I have my Epson ET-2720 in house! Bought the last one in MY town on Wednesday, the one that showed being out of stock! :) My sub paper, EasySubli and more HTV stuff has made it through 2 USPS distribution centers on the way to me. But my sub ink hasn't shipped yet... and I and my Silhouette Studio BE, my heat press (of course NOT for mugs!), heat tape, blowout paper and all the rest of my supplies and test products are waiting on the ink! :) One question, can I use the heat tape to tape the design on instead of the shrink wrap sleeves on the tumblers? Could I just use blowout paper and tape it on as tight as possible? I'd like to do a little testing without having to wait a week or more for shrink wrap sleeves. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Hey Angela! Of course I remember you! You can use the masking tape method, I will like a video for my trial using it. My results were passable, but not as good as I get from the shrinkwrap. So if you decide to try it out, just keep that in mind. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/trW-eH1WHG4/видео.html
Hey there! I print mostly on A-Sub Sublimation paper from Amazon. Unfortunately the tumbler will need to be specially coated for Sublimation. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I figured out what I was asking. Now I am having trouble when i print the image is not covering the whole tumbler and it is not even at the top of the tumbler.
Have you figured out how much it costs to make a tumbler? It seems there are a lot of additional items you need to make it. In order to sell it, how much would you have to charge to make a profit?
Hi Judy! Thank you for reaching out and we're happy to help. While sublimation is pricey to start up with, if you are selling tumblers and other items the cost is worth it in the long run. Do you have a current small business? If so, adding sublimation shirt, tumblers, mugs, etc is a great way to expand what you are currently offering. Depending on the cost of your supplies, I've seen crafters use a similar formula: Wholesale Price of supplies x 2 = Retail Price. However, you can add on to this to make sure you are not undervaluing your time! - Dawn 🙂
Hey Melissa! This wrap is from Conde but most sublimation vendors carry them. It's 9" x 4" but since it shrinks down, you can wiggle a little on a larger size. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Love you cup, but how to prevent ghosting around the top and bottom?
---Becky

Hi! What website or app are using?
I baked my at 400 degrees and I think that’s why it looks faded..too much heat 😩..I’m going to try 360 for 6 mins like you
Love your tutorials 😍.
Can you use a heat press with cup or tumbler
not a regular heat press but a mug press... yes
Arkansas is correct, you can use a mug press if you have one. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Can i use my normal oven or specific oven
You will need a convection oven. You wouldn't want to use an oven that you use to cook in.
---Becky
dyetrans.com/details.php?item_no=TUM217
@@DesignBundles theirs no way around it? I got like 8 stainless steel ones by accident
---Becky
@@DesignBundles what is the web address where you get the tumblers from please. Thank you I love all your video's i learn so much from them.
---Becky
@@DesignBundles thanks i am going to try as it can't get any worse.lol.
Great video. Can you tell me what you use for sublimation paper?
I usually use A-Sub paper from Amazon. Hope this helps! ---Becky
When you are making your own design template, how do you know what size square to start with, before you warp? Thank you
Hey, great question! I usually try to start with a square that is similar to the size of my tumbler. For example, I'll go ahead and measure around my tumbler and from top to bottom. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Is the tumbler a sublimate tumbler or a stainless steel tumbler?? Love your videos! I have learned so much from you!
Hey Katie! This is a sublimation tumbler. Hope this helps! ---Becky
What setting (convection, bake) on the oven?
Hey Tricia! Glad you enjoyed the video! I use an Epson WF-7710. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Heya. What are the curved designs for versus the flat ones? I’m looking at using your sublimation designs for skinny tumblers .
Hey Ren! The curved designs will be best for tumblers, even the 20oz skinny tumblers are slightly tapered. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Can you do this on any metal tumbler or do you need a specific kind?
Hey Kayla, you do need specific sublimation tumblers. Hope this helps! ---Becky
After taking the paper off your tumbler did you do any epoxy or anything over your design?
Not needed with sub
@@heartandsouldesignco.5408 that's awsome. I love doing cups but the epoxy is making me cough and irritating my throat
Hey Donna! No epoxy needed. If epoxy is bothering you, check into Crystalac. I have not used it myself, but I hear a lot of people talk about it in the tumbler groups. Hope this helps! ---Becky
goshting is caused from what when taking the paper off
Ghosting happens when your item is still hot and your image shifts while removing. Basically the paper touches back down and gives a slightly lighter imprint on your sublimated item. It can also happen if the print shifts during pressing. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I find the Silhouette is so difficult to use.
Hello, I have watched many videos on conical warp however the dimensions I put in will not stay.... the abc horizontal goes from 10.427 to 8.8 once I put in other dimensions. Please help.
With the Eco tank 2720 how do I get the image to fit the tumbler? I’m struggling with that
Hey Yousi, if you purchase a design made to fit the tumbler, it should import and print the correct size.
---Becky
I have another question, if you have a mug heat press do I still need a oven to put the tumbler in?
Hey Tricia! I don't believe you can get very good results in a mug press, but I could be wrong. You will have to unlatch the mug press and then move it and press it again? You only need the oven if your mug press is unsuccessful, the convection oven is what you use to apply the heat. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I think you would benefit from a caliper to measure the diameter
One question, can I use the heat tape to tape the design on instead of the shrink wrap sleeves on the tumblers? Could I just use blowout paper and tape it on as tight as possible? I'd like to do a little testing without having to wait a week or more for shrink wrap sleeves. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Use masking tape and wrap tightly around the paper.. works great 👍🏻
Hey Angela! Of course I remember you! You can use the masking tape method, I will like a video for my trial using it. My results were passable, but not as good as I get from the shrinkwrap. So if you decide to try it out, just keep that in mind. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hello I have a few questions. What kind of paper do you print on and second can you do this on a regular stainless steel tumbler
Hey there! I print mostly on A-Sub Sublimation paper from Amazon. Unfortunately the tumbler will need to be specially coated for Sublimation. Hope this helps! ---Becky
This was very helpful. I used the steps and it cuts off some of my image. IS there anyway to prevent that from happening?
Hey Michelle, do you mean using the warp feature? ---Becky
@@DesignBundles yes, I got a background off google and when I used your instructions to warp it it cut off the bottom of the image.
I figured out what I was asking. Now I am having trouble when i print the image is not covering the whole tumbler and it is not even at the top of the tumbler.
I am new ti this sublimation thing and I need help:(
Did anyone’s cork burn up and disintegrate in the oven? Wondering why mine did on the second use. Are they only good for one run?
Mine as not Bonnie, I've used it quite a few times with no ill effects. Perhaps it's the thickness of your cork? Hope this helps! ---Becky
- Dawn 🙂
Could you add a link for ordering the shrink wrap sleeves or at least the size? Thanks!
Hey Melissa! This wrap is from Conde but most sublimation vendors carry them. It's 9" x 4" but since it shrinks down, you can wiggle a little on a larger size. Hope this helps! ---Becky
