On some JBL models, you can access the driver by removing one of the handles in the side of the cabinet.
Hello,
You must remove the woofer, then unscrew the horn driver from the back of the plastic horn from inside the cabinet. Hope this helps.

Hi, I have a set of JBL Jrx 115 , this past weekend my tweeter was making noise and at the end of the night the tweeter went completely out, Do you think I just need to replace the Diaphragm?
We sell the metal type now. No more plastic. The metal style tends to last longer. Even if you cannot see damage, there can be an issue causing low output or no output. Sometimes the crossovers may have an issue too.
Some versions do use the FerroFluid.
How do you remove the driver from the cabinet?
I removed my drivers by unscrewing the handle on jrx 125 and 112m. Anyway how much for 2 of these diaphragms
how does the original diaphragm look like? ive seen several shapes, and what about the voice coil does it have flat or round wire? Thanks
The JBL 2412 diaphragm is just like the video shows it. We have other models which are different. Some use round wire, other use edge-wound. It all depends on the actual design.
Great video, helped me a lot. I have a question. Besides replacing the diaphragms, I also had to replace the audio resistors from the crossovers because they were burnt. The resistors are 10-watt, 16-ohm; i already soldered new ones and the twitters sound like new. But just to make sure, what can cause a resistor to burn? Thanks!
eldom72 Too much power is always the culprit
No need to measure with pink noise after like with the large format drivers to make sure they are seated properly?
Yes, we test all repairs on a signal generator when complete. These particular diaphragms are self-centering, so it is rare to have any rub or scrape issues when complete.
hi what did you use to test the driver what the name and wear can i buy one
the new diaphragm is a JBL or O.E.M ? thanks a lot.
You will need a new horn diaphragm. Give us a call or go to our website to order. Part # D-2412. Thanks!
Simpson 420 function generator. You can find them on eBay, etc.
HI, i have 2 units of JBL EON1500 and i realized one of the tweeter sound very weak and caused whole speaker lack of hi mid frequency. When i open up the driver, i didn't see the breakage in the diaphagm as shown in your video. May i know:
1) The weaker response is it caused by the spoilt diaphagm or magnet?
2) There is after market diaphagm around, some are in black plastic and some are in metal plate, does this two make a different in quality and sound?
Thanks.

Thanks!
what is the size of the tweeter spool
1" (25mm)
These are an aftermarket version, but same specs as JBL.
replaced this part and speakers still sound terrible, would you recommend changing the crossover ?
Yes, for sure. Try the crossover. There must be a failing component or loose connection somewhere.
Why don't they use ferrofluid cooling on those?
exactly what I was thinking
