I can see why that dude on IGN plagiarized from you. You have a great structure to your videos and they have a good professional feel to them. I'm looking forward to trying this.
Thanks idk why other sites like IGN don’t review more games like this great review man definitely will sub
Ha! That foreshadowing...
Careful hat you wish for young Ali.
It’s because they have to pay someone to write it and IGN is not what it used to be. They use to review everything now they just review popular stuff that is going to bring a revenue to the site.
*My channel needs your support on Patreon and if just a fraction of you gave $1, it would help immensely❗*
I played Moonlighter on PS4 Pro and I really enjoyed how well it’s systems worked together but had to mark my final verdict down a couple decimals because of roughly over an hour of lost progress across multiple bugs (customers stuck in shop after closing and can’t leave myself) and game crashes (hard crash to dashboard). I contacted the PR team associated with Moonlighter and they are not guaranteeing a day one patch but the team is working on providing one ASAP.
i was thinking this would be a perfect game for the switch and luckily it is.
First video I see from you (thanks reddit) and thought it was great, keep it up!
great review
you sold me the game!
and subscribed :)
The shopkeep mechanic is what interests me the most. It looks like it could be really fun. Hopefully the dungeon exploration ends up growing on me, though i'm only a mild fan of Roguelike games.
Sailor Mercury Its really not much of a rogue lite really. More of a normal game progression. If you have played Steam world Dig 1 or 2, its very much that type of risk reward for getting back to town with as much materials as possible and not the end of the world if you die and lose a haul.
If you have a PC, then check out Recettear: An Item Shop Tale. Seems like this game borrowed a lot from that one. Also, there's more focus on the shop in that game.
Capitalism, Ho!
Subscribed!! Thank you so much. I was looking at this game and you convinced me to buy.
Thanks for the review, you have a new subscriber
I can't wait for this game to release.
Dude what a awesome review!!
In a game where it's mostly inventory management I find it really annoying that there is no autosort / autostack mechanics in the game.
Great review!!! Keep it up!!
Thanks for the great review !
Very well done review! Nice and tight.
there´s even an option to duplicate some items, for example, in 1:15 you moved a golem chisel all to the left, despite of the item having a red square thingy on the superior right corner, u should read or memorize the forms of the items, that 1 chisel could duplicate to 6 if u put it next to any kind of item, keep in mind that the item next to it will transform to the chisel, if u have 10 teeth stones, when u finish that dungeon run, it will duplicate your chisel to 5, pretty neat
I'm sold and you just earned a new sub. ❤️
Very good review! Well done!
Great review
Thank you for your video, I'm sold on this game I'm really looking forward to playing to it !
Just a question, the music we hear in the background is from the OST of the game ? It would confirm that it's also one of its qualities ! If it's not, which game does it come from ? Thank you ! :)
Music is from the game. The forest dungeon I believe. It does have a solid soundtrack but I don't really factor in story or sound too much in my reviews because they are not terribly important to me in gaming unless they are insane positives or negatives.
this is gonna be free on july 25 on epic games so thanks for the review, straight forward but professional. the game is interesting so i guess i'll give it a try
Boomstick is where it's at for quality reviews.
wow nice reviews of interesting games, i've nver heard of!! gj
it's like Recettear, I love it.
I like the look of it but I'll probably wait until the switch release and price drop. Thanks for the great review.
It's on sale on the switch today
Great review! Would have just like to have known about game length + replay-ability.
Took me about 8-10 hours on Hard. There are 3 difficulty settings to play on, Normal, Hard, Very Hard. You can continue playing after you beat final boss if you want to max out your shop.
Got it in like 6 hours,
Replay-ability = Zero cuz there isn’t anything like secrets and so on
At least I didn’t find anything (except „the horde“)
This game reminds me of Recettear, a game with a similar premise on PC.
Great review. I Really wanted to like this game but it was way to shallow for me. I really hope they continuously update the game to make it worth the $20.
Jacob tyler same
Got it since release " Tuesday " and also Knights Of Pen & Paper " Wednesday " I am absolutely having an absolute blast on both titles just as I expected.
Why I can't find it on ps store?
This is actually pretty much what my Khajiit did in Skyrim. Draugr's weep at the sound of my tapping nails, for they know they'll spend the afterlife poor.
Any news about the Switch release date?
How does it compare to Recettear?
As switch ver is coming out soon, the cons seems to be pros to me as I would like to enjoy simplistic combat and less thinking during my commute in trains. Unlike Botw or Hollow Knight :S which requires full attention by sitting alone in a room to play properly.
I really need to go back to Moonlighter. It did get a little repetitive and I didn't even beat the first dungeon. its a lot of filling your bag and going back to sell it, more than going in to beat a dungeon boss. The shop mechanics is quite addicting.
0:22 the CACHING sound, money... Taken from an old game I used to play a lot.. ut I can't remember what game. :O If anyone knows, please tell me? Very old game.
People comment a lot about the price value of a game without context. I use movies as a point of reference. I spend $8 to watch a 2 hour movie. If I average my spending at $4 an hour then I am willing to spend that much on a video game. This helps me determine if indie game value, that has 6 hours of gameplay as an example, is worth a $20 price tag.
You can not compare the two as movies are linear entertainment while games are abstract. Someone can enjoy 5 hrs of a game, while another person only enjoys 1, while everyone can enjoy 2 hrs of a movie.
@@fruitsalad1181 How so? I can't even enjoy 5 mins of a 50 Shades or Twilight movie.
I thought i was the only one to measure the value of a game based on movie tickets lol
This isn't a review it's a description of the game
This game currently on sale on Steam!
This is why I am here lol
Can any PS4 player confirm the patches have fixed the bugs that have been mentioned in earlier comments?
Ive been looking forward to this game! and I'm extremely picky with Indies! I have Steamworld Dig 2 (Excellent game), Celeste (It's good but not the second coming like people say) and looking forward to this one and Hollow Knight. I also got Lovers in Spacetime but it's ONLY good if you got people to play with.
Hollow Knight is my favorite out of the ones you've mentioned.
Subscribed and liked :)
Thanks!
great game to play on switch
I like the review, but would have liked comparisons to existing roguelikes. It takes little bits from a bunch of games like binding of issac and stardew valley. But I don't think anything is particularly strong gameplay wise.
blake girvan I actually wouldnt even call it a rogue lite to be honest. Its more of a traditional games progression. Just because you lose some materials on death, doesnt make it a rogue lite necessarly. If you lost all your gear and money upon death, or worse yet started the whole game over, I would agree with the term rogue lite applied to this but as it is, if you do consider it a rogue lite, its a "babys first" rogue lite if anything.
Thank you
Look fun
How does this game compare to Recettear?
Never played it but looking at it atm, that looks really cool as well.
Capitalism Ho!
I love that game!!!!! It's the reason why I look at these games. Shop sims are kewl
i really like this game :)
I wanted to say, Moonlighter was a fun game while it lasted
But after you beat the 5th dungeon. Don't expect any replay value.
You only fight the bosses once. You can't get back into the 5th dungeon. And the previous dungeons aren't even worth going back to.
Golem through Desert aren't even worth paying visits with their weak enemies and cheap items.
If I had to make a suggestion, wait till this game gets a discount
I've played multiple games like this on kongregate
I'm just not sure if its worth my $20?
great fucking review !
It’s Stardew Valley: Guild Conquest
YEET
Capitalism-ho!
So this isn’t like binding of Isaac, where, if you die, it was all for nothing? This game lets you make armor and weapons so you can progress further in the dungeon every time??
It is not like the binding of isaac. Deaths will only set you back in time and what you had carried in your back pack at the time.
Boomstick Gaming ooo I like the sound of that. Thanks for a quick reply!
Is this game like stardew valley
Not really no. This is very much a action game with a "running your shop" mechanic and nothing like Stardew... other than the emphasis on economy.
That game is definitely too short for 20€ it’s more like a 5€ game (content)
Yesterday bought and today finished without investing too much time,
shop and collecting = too easy
Bosses brainless = too easy
🤯
I dont know it sounds like I rather spend time in a real bussines LOL
sub baby!
baby sub! ...less cool
Capitalism Ho!
Meh. I want an Alundra and Zelda Link to the Past clone.
NeEts of the world unite! Look up Blossom Tales
That looks amazing, thanks.
Thanks for the great review!
