"Just like if you were an actual wizard"...lol. Your dry humor, missed if not listening closely, is one of my favorite thing about your content in this and other vids.
Again a short to-the-point review, love it! 👌
The cambat and movement looks like hyper light drifters this is gonna be awesome
Combat**
Again another amazing couch co OP that doesn't come with online multiplayer for times you have nobody to play with....

Parsec is the shit
Buying this as soon as it becomes available on Steam, looks amazing.
*My channel needs your support on Patreon and if just a fraction of you gave $1, it would help immensely❗*
Wizard of Legend kind of kicked my butt for the first couple of hours since I usually have a very aggressive approach to combat in many rogue-lite games but I eventually learned the delicate balance of the ebbs and flows of weaving together your spell combos to devastating effect. It seemed pretty easy from that point on but took some practice to get into that groove.
agree 100% about implementing this combat/spell system into a linear adventure with handcrafted levels. it would be incredible. would love to see them go somewhere with that.
thank you! Great review. I think 16$ its worth a game like like this. Pre purchasing for the Switch :D
me to ^^
Ghazbaran how is it on the switch? It looks awesome
This game looks badass
I just started playing this today, its a very surprising amount of fun.like you said, great combat system.
Looks great, but then again, with its short gameplay, perma death mechanic (which I ALWAYS HATED in any game) and the fact the combat is a little "too fast-paced" for my liking, I'm holding off on buying this for now.
completely agree about the combat system - great review
Amazing review
Thank you for this video! :*
This would be awesome with online features on pc
This is the third review I've watched and the first to mention the vs. mode. That mode looks amazing! This looks like a cool game to play with my cousins. I wish it had online play but it honestly looks too fast paced to run on possibly unreliable internet connections.
CandyCinema It is local only versus on every platform.
Thanks! How are the vs and co-op controls? What platform did you play it on? I am thinking this is one I'll get for Switch but I'm wondering how it controls with two separate joy-cons.
It's a Diablo clone with a more dynamic combat system. Awesome.
would you review Enter The Gungeon now that there's a mew update?
Imagine this game as Magicka where you cant “accidentally” kill your friend
Wehafse Yea waay more fun than magicka, combat wise at least. Your spells never feel like a chore or burden.
Is there any story at all?
What platform did you play on? I watched two reviews for the Switch version and they didn't mention VS mode, so I'm worried that platform doesn't have it.
If you want a good action rpg with this style of gameplay/combat, hyper light drifter is made for you
Yup, played it. Only missing the spell combo aspect.
Boomstick Gaming yeah that's why the combat system is interesting !
So is there any story or is it 100% rogue?
Shilvio D. Linton 99% Rogue. People in town talk about stuff as well as bosses but I couldnt really say a story is going on.
Magicka gungeon
tanx 4 the rev
Sucks the Co-op is split joycon only
Does anyone know if the game will get anymore support or is this it?
You think they're ever going to add multiplayer?
Highly unlikely a game that launched simultaneously on 4 platforms would take on that massive undertaking of creating competent net code for all 4 versions. Of course you can suggest this to the devs and it possibly could be considered in the future or for a sequel.
How much is this title on steam?
I'm considering buying the Switch version of this. Does it run smoothly on the system?
SilverRainbow100 This review footage was the PC version. I'm mostly going to cover the overal game mechanics and systems in my reviews and not performance since I have no way to measure frame rate on consoles. Maybe check a 60fps twitch stream on the Switch version and eyeball if its running smooth.
+Boomstick Gaming Oh whoops, my bad.
Thank's for the info!
Just got it (on switch) and must say I'm pretty disappointed.
There's a massive lack of any sort of defensive options (you can't dash through anything), and the difficulty is extremely unbalanced. Some of the bosses are a cakewalk, while others just combo you to death. the spell system is definitely unique, but I fail to see how comboing the spells does anything more than keep the enemy in hit stun.
Game needs some severe rebalancing.
ilazul Thats what I thought at first as well and almost shelved this review but then the game clicked for me and I just got it. There is definitely a rhythm to it that is learned. Also buy those robe unlocks, they give you a stat advantage.
I finished it and all. It just came down to luck on the 3rd boss pattern each time (regardless of who the boss was). The first 2 sets of stages / bosses are really easy. The 3rd set is mostly just an endurance trial with how much health / defensive relics you've acquired.
I beat the game by just having better luck getting L and R spells that did something good (off of the boss drops) and relics that happen to work with my spells.
Also Scales of Babylon with Shock Assault makes the game fairly trivial.
I have 2 questions, how much time you mean by not very long story and can you replay the story after beating it? Thank you
It's very hard to pin down the length it takes to beat a "rogue-lite" game since it is dependent of your skill (because of perma death). The average player to beat the "final boss" at the end of the route i'm guessing can take anywhere from 3 hours to 8 hours. You will have probably only gathered half of the spells and trinkets by that point and its up to you if you want to grind out for a dozen or more hours to unlock everything. If your INSANELY good, you could beat it in the first 20 minutes, if your INSANELY bad you have a infinite amount of hours to play.
Boomstick Gaming thank you
If it's perma-death, what are the consequences? Is it game over and i have to restart? Do i lose any items?, etc basically how does perma death works in this game?
Yes if you die its game over and your kicked back to your home town with ONLY the purple gems you collected on the last run. All items and gold you gathered on that character are gone. The purple gems however can be spent in town on new spells, trinkets and robes that can increase your chances of living longer on your next attempt.
Boomstick Gaming how about the spell?
Shame about Ash vs Evil Dead :(
Marshal Monsanto I sadly couldnt stand that show but I still hold Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness in very high regard... Oh and right next to me is a 5' tall Army of Darkness movie poster sooo yeah.
Really? Well it gets much better as it goes along. Evil dead 1 is cool but 2 and Army of Darkness are Amazing. Making an Army of Darkness themed game review channel is truly inspired.
I guess me and my gf are just exceptionally bad at this game? Been playing every day for a week and at most get 2 levels deep
What you get if you mashed up Diablo and Rogue Legacy.
horsehead/10
SPOILERS SPOILERS everywhere man!!
yeah i dont know why peoppe make roguelikes in a lot of situations amd this is definitely one of them. quite a waste.
BOSSMODS Rogue-lites shine the most when they have a plethora of procedural modifiers that make them "near infinite" in terms of replay value which is appealing to some people like myself. For example, my desert island game would not be one of my all time favs like Ocarina of Time, Bloodborne, or Metroid Prime, I would probaly bring along The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ to keep me preocupied since it is not finite like those other games are.
Boomstick Gaming i can see that in the case of something like dead cells where it works. but in a lot of cases or at least some, it seems like lazy level design
BOSSMODS It's a two person indie dev team, "lazy" is insulting. There's limits to what two people can do. Having procedural levels leaves time to work on actual game mechanics.
Sabi Hakuhei yeah so was salt and sanctuary...a masterpiece. so was stardew valley. one person made that. another masterpiece. theres no excuse. if you can make the game like that you dont need randomly generate your levels. or leave out a story progression. its just getting old
then play a different game, no need to hate. lots of good games out there bud
"rogue like" - lost interest.
Eddy Dead Your loss
permadeath lost interest.
wow this combat looks really good, thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's $17 for all platforms, correct?
Dylan Dial $15.99 on Pc, Switch, Xbox and PS4.
dayem i thought it would be like 5 or 10........i guess indie games are getting more and more expensive nowdays
Great Great Game that I totally suck at. Happy Gaming!!!
