Respect to President Arbenz
What is interesting is that the wife of CIA director Allen W Dulles was completely smitten with the Latin American country. In the archives, there are several pictures showing her over there, visiting Maya monuments, local markets, and the interior of the Dulles home at that time was largely decorated with fabrics etc. from Guatemala. My guess is the Dulles brothers were terribly afraid there would be a spill over to all the other "banana republics". They were totally convinced Arbenz was a puppet in the hands of Moscow, it was inconcievable to them that this tiny country could have a mind of its own. The Dulles revenge didn't stop with the coup, the Arbenz family was harassed once they returned from their exile in Czechoslovakia.
Anything in particular you could recommend for me to read on the subject?
What we no es we hate the states, we are not with Russia, what I like is seeing a Russia giving the states the middle finger and the same pay that they have done

Jacobo Arbenz was a capitalist ,not a socialist.He said that he would turn Guatemala from a feudal state to a capitalist state
which makes the US looks even more terrible,as they accused a "capitalist" as "communist, colluded with USSR" simply he wants the US companies occupied lands returned to the farmers

Doesn't change anything, he was also a nationalist and wanted the best for his people. The CIA could care less about the political or economic system/ideology you're aligned with as long as you're working for their interests
Arbenz was a comunist. Period..
