    Some potential progress on youth exchange schemes. Restoring full freedom of movement remains very sensitive. Problems with business travel. Divergences include UK gene editing initiative where the EU hasn't yet reached an internal agreement on this. Services poor. One panellist, Catherine Barnard, a lawyer, carries a copy of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) around with her.

    I don't really understand what the EU interest in allowing Brits to work half the time in the EU without freedom of movement would be.
    That is, the issue really is not what the UK thinks of this 'freedom of movement', but whether the EU is interested in providing such benefits to a non-member country.
