  • Exiled Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky has told Sky News that Vladimir Putin "cronies" are influencing British politics.
He said: "Putin's clique use money in order to illegally put pressure on the British political system. And this is happening - directly, indirectly, via legal firms, via lobbying businesses, via directly influencing politicians and so on and so forth."
The former head of oil giant Yukos, Mr Khodorkovsky was once Russia's richest man before he fell out with Putin and was jailed.
He now lives in exile in London.

    Holy cow what an interview!
One mafia boss knows another. Very insightful for sure. However, as we know, every mafia boss will have their own agenda and thus not always tell the complete truth. With that in mind, the fact that he said; "Russian owned assets in London are not that important" - means that he believes the very opposite.

As I recall Putin authorised his early release from prison on compassionate grounds (sick mother or something like that)...And now he's hiding in Londongrad whining about how badly he was treated. So why is it that Putin is "after him"? For stealing? or trying to sell off a strategic industry to the US and run off with the cash?

@Robin Morch Putin is after him because Khodrokovski didn't want to be in the clique of Putin. He is very lucky to have escaped Russia without being poisoned or sent to life imprisonment for no reason like Nemtsov or Navalny. Was something he said about Putin not true?

Sanctions on every one helping Putin is something that I had been saying for a while... I don't see why people cannot freeze assets and put sanctions on everybody surrounding Putin and helping him... Give them a timeline to pull back their troops, if they do not de-escalate by the given time then consequences will become more severe... Or they can completely call it off and then take the sanctions off.
And since London is still a monarchy... Can't the queen freeze their assets...?
Does she even need a reason?
I think of a few excuses.

difference between "looking dangerous" and "being dangerous".Russia describes military doctrine as defensive military doctrine. With regard to nuclear weapons specifically, Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons: in response to the use of nuclear and other types of weapons of mass destruction against it or its allies,in case of aggression against Russia with the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is threatened.
    oops
    google russia deadhand
The 'Perimeter' system, dubbed in the United States and Europe the 'Dead Hand', is an automatic control system for a retaliation nuclear strike. To put it simply, if Russia's territory is devastated after a nuclear attack, the Perimeter system automatically strikes the enemy's territory with its own nuclear missiles

If Russia is influencing British politics that implies they are also influencing US politics as suggested with no evidence found. If this is to be true then clearly both political systems need radical changes. I doubt this is the case though. This will be used to revert Brexit. Guarantee Ukraine situation will also be used as excuse for UK to rejoin and they will in next few years begin work on European Defence Force in the interest of protecting Europe from Russia.

Farage is Russian's paid puppet among others. Brexit was full of lies. Have any the promises been fulfilled? No! None of the promises will ever be fulfilled, Mark my words! The Russians did influence brittish politics and across Europe by supporting far right parties. In the US, they already confirmed the Russians influenced the 2016 elections. I mean, republicans and trump's son had meetings with the kremlin. Its within their interests to create division and break democracy. The more division there is in the west, the better and they carry out invasions in other nations and can also influence Europe instead of the US.
