After listening to the PBS interview with Mr Deripaska, the slant of NBC questions are sore thumbs and toes standing out. The candor of Mr Deripaska became more believable.
I listened to both. My take-away is, "get these BS sanctions off my companies, and tell Manafort 'I want my F'n money'", Deripaska (Russian accent implied).
They didn`t hear what they wanted to hear, so they kept asking the same question over and over and over and over, just like they do in an interrogation room to try to wear you down and hopefully you end up giving them what they want, and in the meantime they destroy everything you have built including your family business and your reputation, and then drive you into bankruptcy and if they are lucky to see you destroy yourself. But this gentleman won't crumble, those abusers will !!!
We only have his word that his interview with the FBI was as he described. We do not have a transcript and the FBI is not saying. I think we need to have more evidence before we attack our own intelligence community for which we all pay billions a year vs a man who has very close connections with Russia and Putin, a nation not now a democratic state. For years in the 20's and later, Stalin fooled a lot of people about how happy everyone was under Communism and how their economic conditions were going to "bury" the West. It was all a lie.
