- Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier has shared a video on Instagram advertising his desire for a “girlfriend and muse”.
Von Trier is known for directing controversial films such as Antichrist, Dogville, and The Idiots, many of which are known for their violent and sexually explicit content.
He has been married twice before: to director Cæcilia Holbek, from 1987 to 1995, and to Bente Frøge, who works with vulnerable youths, from 1997 to 2015. Last August, he announced that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

pls fix the title, he isnt an Actor
Så længe, der ikke er tremmer for, så er det hyggeligt princippet.
what if he... really is
He is - I mean, he is one of the greatest directors of all time, but he has also acted in a couple of his own movies, mainly in the Europa Trilogy.
But, yeah, I agree with you. It should say "Director Lars Von Trier..."
@@NuntiusInfestissumam 👉 true
I love Lars. I hope he finds the perfect nurse/pal and that he makes those few films, and then a few more, and that lives a long life. A reason to rise . . . every day, and provoke.
That was one of the most honest and uplifting dating ads I have seen in a long while! Damn I hate Tinder!!! Hope he finds his muse and stay with us for a long time longer :)
Come on... Change the title! he is not an actor, he is a well known and brilliant filmmaker/director..
Right you are - that's why I could not upvote this video with that ignorant title.
you mean filmmaker?
Lars Von Trier isn’t an actor just like whoever wrote this headline isn’t a journalist lol
Exactly
?? who cares? I'm a fan but truly who cares?
This isn't serious business; this is a celeb post, a goof, why insult the journalist?
Greatest living director. I’m a straight man and I’d date him. Soooo lovable
🙄🤣😒
He's a creep
this guy touches one of the most dark sides of existences and he does it bravely. A modern day prophet. It is sad so see in this shape.
We had none of these diseases when I was growing up.
@@VickiTakacs. Well of course, you were young
He touches his actresses too
@@johnjjohningtoniii2439 No. NO, NO. I AM A RETIRED NURSE. Age has nothing to do with it. I have no diseases. We are all poisoned daily in all ways. You know nothing.
@@johnjjohningtoniii2439 Troll. No content on your channel.
You mean Director ?
He was an "actor" from the past, yes he did act, especially in his early days, but he's more widely know for being a "Filmmaker"
Let him cook
I would love to be his muse, if that implies him keeping doing masterpieces.
You have his email.
@@jammadamma am I male lol
At this point I'm convinced he's Neurodivergent. There's no way this man can't be in regards to his statements in the past and his willingness to dive head first into someof the most darkest films imaginable
Oh, at this point, now it’s clear? lol
He's definitely mentally ill. Do you think it's possible he could have autism or adhd as well?
As an autistic artist myself.... yeah. There is no way in hell this guy isn't on the spectrum
We live in the darkest times imaginable.
@@JasonClinardRoth If you are not messed up after the last 3 years we've had, you're one of them.
This is definitely a far-cry from the Von Trier who directed Breaking The Waves.
You’ve directed some of my favorite films, Lars. It’s pretty crazy that you’re left out to dry.
would be nice to see a followup on if there was success..
He began as a child actor he even dabbled in songwriting but he is a Director thats his prime gig
this is soo cute, straight, almost admirable...
Straight? Where😂
what's @???
DM's are flooded. This guy is crushin poon.
What a Chad
Down bad...
I thought it was Geoff bell in the thumbnail lol
Cinematographer
Try director, writer, producer.
Like Under Solen but creepy AF
He can't be serious can he? Not with films like NYMPHOMANIAC and ANTICHRIST up his belt.
Breaking the waves. Eff Antichrist.
What's wrong with them?
@@DeterminismisFreedomit was probably a bad attempt at a joke.
Check his other films like "Dancer in the Dark"
@@DeterminismisFreedom I adored Breaking The Waves.
i volunteer
he just like me fr
just another von Trier joke
Lol
What does muse mean?
'muse' means girl in her 20s
It means someone that inspires you, gives you creative inspiration
Actually;@@mysonisanembarrassment's definition of _"muse"_ is wrong. Often those may statistically be young women, but it even could be an 95 year old person or even a fictional one:
* In Greek mythology, the Muses were the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne who presided over the arts and sciences.
* A muse can also refer to a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.
* Hence Cambridge Dictionary defines a muse as a person, or an imaginary being or force that gives someone ideas and helps them to write, paint, or make music
@@yesnotesinfo In greek mythology they turn into animals and rape women
@@yesnotesinfo Pretty sure @mysonisanembarrassment 's comment was a clever and sardonic joke that was not meant as a technical definition of what a muse is.
I have Parkinson, OCD and controlled alcoholism. I am the perfect man for you
At least he is honest and upright about it.
@@quidquopro1185 still one of his strange jokes
Is it a joke or something?
Talks crap about women then begs for them in his life typical 😂
What kind of girlfriend could he get that would put up with his "controlled alcoholism" (whatever that means!)? His age, his OCD, his Parkinsons, they will be barriers that are adaptable for a loving partner. The drinking, not so much.
Even getting a girlfriend/muse would not suggest that she would not also have issues. Hopefully not codependency...
I dated an alcoholic for 18 yrs and I have no addictions. They aren't necessarily monsters. My only concern if I was him is the fact that most women who reply are going to have agendas... actresses, gold diggers. If he can weed those out, good on him for so sincerely and bravely seeking a companion.
@@ld2588he, of course, has no agenda!
I hope von Trier finds the professional help he clearly needs. At least to be sober and re-socialized enough to make his next film.
yall have life figured out don't yall. all you need to do is get help. bam problem solved.
Bro, he's a living legend
Any woman who gets he's work would be happy to become his maid let alone girlfriend
Perdeu tudo.

Question for Lars. Are your inner demons satiated by the pretentious nature of positive reviews for your movies, in particular Anti Christ? Human nature is an oxymoron as human nature has no boundaries and so does not exist as a distinct motif.
Human nature is limited by humans... and you seem especially limited.
I like his movies . No pretension
seems like you tried to make him out to be cringey. he’s just disconnected and old. great reporting.
It's disgusting, he's a genius
Yes, he is not an actor, it would be better to call him a clown.
he's the best living director!
@@ryanegger4425 lol, only in the wet fantasies of a person who saw the 2.5 movies for all his or her miserable life.
Lars Von Trier is one of the bravest filmmaker I know.
@@cyberpunkchloe9 why do you call him brave. he is not brave (e.g. groveling after the failed joke at Cannes). he is honest, or at least tries to be.
