This is not an interview...She is just trying to justify her opinions and impression through his words. Very annoying. But Lars is really polite and honest
Excellent. Thank you very much! Been a fan of von Trier since ‘93. I was lucky to see most of them in Paris. The censorship of so many of his works now is appalling.
She talks about Russia like it's some kind of free speech heaven. She doesn't seem to have a clue about the thousands of people hauled away to prisons for saying the wrong thing. It's almost like this woman has never been there. It's really quite sickening listening to her talk about how wonderful Russia and Nazis are. And what was her point with the cards? Obviously it made Von Trier quite uncomfortable and this woman just didn't know when to let it go. As few of interviews Lars does, it's sad that he gave up so much time to her.
I have been a huge Lars Von Trier fan since Europa 1991 with Ernst-Hugo Järegård as Narrator ❤ So SAS to see Lars so sick or Parkinson but mutch love to Lars from Sweden 🇸🇪🙏
I can't stop laughing at this, this kinda stuff shows Lars in a different light. I wish you could go and interview him every year in this same way, so we can kinda see his life enfolding in his private space
Love this interview. But you should improve the audio quality. Sometimes Lars us very loud in comparison to her and sometimes the background music blasts everything else
Imagine any other great director of the past tolerating this

This is such an awkward interview. Not because of Lars, but the interviewer! Why is she so cringe? That beginning of the clip when she randomly asks people (Copenhagen I guess) about LvT - what is that… We get it, she is a huge fan of LvT, but the interview should not look like a fangirl interviewing her favourite filmmaker, it’s cringe to watch. Most of us watching and commenting this interview, we’re all LvT fans one way or another, but did she really mention during the interview “the greatest genius of the world” OMG … I truly hope I misheard that. 😂
lars once made a interview about anxiety and art with a danish radioprogram called hjernekassen its messy and they keep straying from the subject at hand lars is terribly uneasy and the host peter tries to keep it simple and relevant but fails because his coworker and brother tries to settle the mood by interupting its still a better interview than this
Very interesting, I may have to revisit his work. I found Dancer In The Dark fascinating, but very distressing. You should interview Oliver Stone. Older Norwegians also warn against Danish imperialism.
Their aesthetics were beutiful but their morals and ethics were despicable and disgusting. It the same as with Wagner or Carl Orff, their music is beautiful but their ideas and ideologies were morally reprehensible.
The interviewer stating that Russia is the only country with free speech and that everyone loves Dostoyevsky and Tarkovsky and fails to mention how every great and subversive artist in Russia or Soviet had suffered dire consequences for their art, like exile, inprisonment, labour camps or a firing squad. Why was Tarkovsky exiled? The Exile and Death of Andrei Tarkovsky': A Priceless ... As he was bitter and disappointed with the Soviet Union's efforts to prevent his films being made and receive international recognition, as they deemed his art to possess a certain anti-Soviet sentiment, he decided at the beginning of the 1980s never to return and work in his homeland again Dostoyevsky got four years in a hard labour camp and was to be shot but spared at the last moment, Parajanov where prisoned time and again. And still ordinary people in Russia can't speak freely. Journalists or politicians falling out of windows or poisoned. A free country? Sure.
Eu amo o cinema do Lars e a entrevista tá extremamente bem feita tecnicamente, mas essa entrevistadora tá toda hora tentando ferrar ele tentando fazer ele concordar com as besteiras que ela fala.
Frau Sobchak's mannerisms made this piece utterly cringy. (so mush so that even dear Lars -even with that 14 component neurotropic coctail in his system- can hardly keep it together...). "And that is a fact"🙄
well this lady thinks russian people are really free because they can support nazis or say dumb shit?! tell her to say something bad against putin ...🤣🤣 I saw till the end because i love this man and his movies but this interview could be soo much better than this.

where is von trier being censored?
41:25 Russia, bastion of free speech lmao
This woman was clearly insane.
😂
Great interview!! Thanks for this. Good questions, a little provocative but not too much, I think Lars enjoyed it.
Thought it was nice to hear how honest he was about his personal struggles.
Chaos Reigns.
Lars is amazing, I LOVE all his films.
i really hope he makes another film
He will. As long as he keeps away from alcohol.
i cant wait
me too
The new series of Riget the kingdom is available now
That interviewer is so obsessed with hitler and trying to make lars go full nazi alongside her.
hahahahaha
yeah he is the man, for all the wrong reasons..
This woman was insufferable. She went on and on about Russia and nazis. I just wanted her to shut up.
A few minutes in and wtf is it with the music? I can't hear what Lars is saying
This was awesome! I laughed so much too. I love Lars, I feel like we could be besties.

You're stupid. Russia is more free than the west.
@@Hermeneuticar Ask the family of Evan Gershkovich how free Russia is. You're in a cult.

Good interview but Please fix your audio levels
It was excessively windy so their options were to go inside or deal with it. I appreciate their having decided to sit outside.
Конечно, я знаю Lars Von Trier. Очень хорошо, Ксения. Interesting to hear you both communicate in English.
I can't stop laughing at this, this kinda stuff shows Lars in a different light. I wish you could go and interview him every year in this same way, so we can kinda see his life enfolding in his private space

this woman is craycray
I enjoyed this interview quite a lot! Thanks (-:
Love you Lars, from Skåne
Fascinating
Amazing interview, this needs more views!

Imagine any other great director of the past tolerating this

Most westerners wouldn't know this, but this woman's father used to be Putin's boss in the early 90's.
What a beautiful interview and educational too. Thanks
So nice to see a conversation where it's acknowledged how Lars was the first victim of fake news.
Antichrist is such a great film...
the house that jack built, melancolia, dancer in the dark... all of his work is great to be honest.
No one mentioned Lars Ulrich? Wtf?
i think if this interview was 10 minutes longer the interviewer was put a maga hat on lars lol
lars once made a interview about anxiety and art with a danish radioprogram called hjernekassen its messy and they keep straying from the subject at hand lars is terribly uneasy and the host peter tries to keep it simple and relevant but fails because his coworker and brother tries to settle the mood by interupting

I had no idea that Denmark was so backward to still have a monarchy.
Very interesting, I may have to revisit his work. I found Dancer In The Dark fascinating, but very distressing.

Excellent documentary & interview!
This girl is rocking the zees hard
Lars is gobbling up for future material why bother travelling when the crazy comes to you
“In Russia unlike europe people are able to discuss things freely”
😂😂
lars❤
Human suffering is not inherently art. The nazis are not beautiful, no matter how subjective you want to be
Their aesthetics were beutiful but their morals and ethics were despicable and disgusting. It the same as with Wagner or Carl Orff, their music is beautiful but their ideas and ideologies were morally reprehensible.
they were not worse then any of the others in this time. you are blind if you don't see.
Amazing. Context matters

Not sure if she means free. But perhaps freer than France for example. Idk, there’s a lot of manipulation and propaganda her too
When is this from?
2019 :)
♡
I love the edits 😂
this girl is a mental case
I don’t really see anything wrong she said
She is real/authentic

Lars Ulrich

Great questions!!!
I asked Lars if he is an antinatalist and he said no
she should give him a tug to help him relax.
