The "vials of chyle" segment is officially the funniest and most educational bit I've seen from this channel to the point that I had to play it for my comparative anatomy classmates, especially since we're about to start the circulatory system.
Looking at what’s left on the wheel; Tyrannosaurus Spinosaurus Australovenator Barbaridactylus Baryonyx Carnotaurus Ceradactylus Cryolophosaurus Dimorphodon Dracorex Moros Mosasaurus Parasaurolophus Scorpios Rex Mostly bangers with some obvious stinkers.
Having been to Loch Ness exactly once and vigorously examining the site via occasional squints across the water and understanding how basic time and geology work, I can confirm there are no plesiosaurs and we can all go home now.
"Hola, soy Scott Johnston! El preparador de fósiles y técnico en paleontología de vertebrados del Museo the Zoología Comparativa de la Universidad de Harvard!"
If you think Plesiosaurus needs to get bullied for having a dumb name, wait until you find out what Pliosaurus means ("more lizard", because it was viewed as being more lizard than Plesiosaurus was - it's also a misspelling, with the originally-intended form being "Pleiosaurus")
the Plesiosaurus design in this game feels like the product of somebody's monkey paw wish some poor beleaguered soul: "hey, can we get *one* marine reptile in the base game that doesn't look like it's wearing a crocodile??" some vile and inauspicious miscreant with creative control: "something that doesn't look like a *crocodile*, huh? you got it, buddy :))"
A drongo is also a type of bird here in Australia. We also use other native animals as an insult, like galah, wombat or wallaby but the meaning stays the same.
The snake head and scales are a weird design choice, but I think Frontier did it for the "animals not in the canon with a film design touch" group. The rest of the animal looks great, I always have a small lagoon with some plesiosaurs in my parks,
I don’t want to jinx it, but it’s crazy that out of the 150+ animals on the game, rex, spino, and mosasaurus may end up in the final 10. Three of the biggest and well known heavy hitters in the JP franchise.
I smiled so hard when you said you guys liked my name! I’ve been watching your videos for over a year now, and I figured it was about time I started saying “thank you” for the literal days of entertainment!
Fun fact: the full (German) birth name of Frederick Augustus II of Saxony is Prinz Friedrich August Albert Maria Clemens Joseph Vincenz Aloys Nepomuk Johann Baptista Nikolaus Raphael Peter Xaver Franz de Paula Venantius Felix von Sachsen. I will never complain about _Micropachycephalosaurus hongtuyanensis_ ever again.
My only thought when hearing close to lizard was that Mary Anning just saw a lizard climb the fossil and said 'it near lizard, so it shall be the near lizard'
Mary Anning is a legend and her discoveries are the foundation of early paleontolgy in the UK. Lyme Regis is a great place to visit, theres a spot on the beach with loads of amanite fossils embedded in to giant stones that cover the beach at low tide. The museum is really great in the town and there are plenty of fossil shops to explore 👍 Worth a trip if your ever in old blighty 🇬🇧
Very solid design, I actually don't hate the snake head and it gives it its own identity while still being recognizable as a Plesiosaurus. Helps that we has Elasmosaurus to show just how much worse it could've been.
The Martincitopants reference is surprising anyway yeah they sure do tell you to get up and stretch regularly on long flights, to Australia. Which is also where Martincitopants is from
James is 100% right, Sacred crocodile is a vastly superior name and I will continue to refer to it as such. Also not helped by the fact that there's also the West African slender snouted crocodile and the West African dwarf crocodile to confuse things.
If i recall, the snake-like head MAY have to do with an early scrapped plesiosaurus scene in JW fallen kingdom/dominion, but dont quote me on that. The plesiosaurus was mentioned to have snake-like features in that
This episode makes me feel incredible horror at the fact that Kyle (I don't care for the proper spelling) is real and that it's constantly inside me. I hate that so much 😂
Not me pausing the video to look up images of the lymphatic system (and finding a whole bunch of stylized renditions that look like a cross between those enlightenment memes and technology magazine covers)
as a native dutch person, it still always amazes me that our small country manged to produce something as large, famous and magnificent as Mosasaurus. We also Have dinosaurs like Betasuchus and Orthomerus, but Mosasaurus is by far the most famous prehistoric animal found here
Everyone should check out the new album "Venous Drainage" by Mid-West Technical Death Metal band "Vials of Chyle". Track #3 "Thoracic Duct Siphon" is an absolute banger.
It would be S if not for the snake head. Part of me has kinda grown to like it, but it also kills the plesiosaur vibe. It’s cute, but when I see the head my first thought isn’t Plesiosaurus. Also the choice to emulate Blue’s Clues is a bold new direction for the channel, but should help with viewer retention.
41:09 I thought Kyne was one of the Divines from Skyrim. Lot more talk of bodily fluids and palates when it's a marine reptile episode. So for guys like me (IDK anything about the digestive system or nervous system or circulatory system, just bones thank you) there're like 10 minute stretches where the Crew is just speaking Simlish.
explaining to a friend the difference between archosaurs, plesiosaurs, psudosuchians, aves, saurichians, ornithiscians, etc is a lot, but idk they like my neurodivergence on the subject (its basically a date)
Controversial opinion, but when I first saw this design the snake-like head actually caught my attention and made me interested in an animal I was never really excited about before. I like it well enough, unlike Liopleurodon I think it's actually nice to look at (with the exception of the skins), and if you want a more accurate plesiosaur for your park there are several to choose from at this point.
seeing as I've not even seen the video, the only thing I can do is my usual job - Algorithm boost 🙌 and say I kinda like this cute little guy, always try to put them in my parks 🙂.
This design feels like a paleoartist designed it but then just before it got added to the game his evil twin snuck in and ruined its head and flippers by adding the snake skin
I support the SC on Patreon and have a peanut allergy, as much as I am a devout subscriber of the Paleo Church and their 5 saints, I will not be testing their promises of salvation XD
That's one weird looking sauropod
40:55 I’m so happy for Lymph’s transition to Kyle, wishing them the best 🙏
OMG I hate this comment so much (it was great)
The implication that James would let turtles die if he didn’t like them Is very funny
Skeleton Crew is my favourite weekly show, I tune into it every two weeks.
27:48 how dare you assume that im a marine iguana or a sea turtle? IM A SEA SNAKE

Oh man!
I'm so excited for the Skeleton Crew to make their debut on Blue's Clues
HELL YEEEAAAAH!
The Snek is done and now all that remains of the lagoon species is Amelia's special little guy
"little"
YES, AUSTRALOVENATOR TIME, i cant wait for next week😁😁😁
That intro was peak comedy. I love this channel.
Finally, at long last I shall know why plesiosaurus is a plesiosaur but Attenborousaurus is a pliosaur. Any second now.
Next episode is gonna be interesting, finally talk about Megaraptorans & what the hell they even are?

we fear for our sanity with every spin
@@skeletoncrew8122 I bet lol. Least if one doesn’t get picked after the Australovenator, then we know at least one of them will be.
day before this vid we get a homotherium cub and now a skeleton crew video on plesiosaurus. this week is peak paleo content

I was going to watch this video later but I guess I can *behoove* it now.
I didn’t know they had limbed snake ancestors in this game
Hehehe. I've had a recent obsession with Megaraptorans. Next episode will be fun for sure

Halfway in and I’m nearly crying with tears from laughter 🤣
I’m far from an expert, but my experience with modern big marine carnivores tells me plesiosaurs would have smelled in any environment.
Marry Anning also became a summonable character in FGO, she even got a little event to play through where u fight a lot plesiosaurs
The Martincitopants reference is surprising

30:02 POV you are fish.
New great mystery of like just dropped: what the hell does James mean at 8:31 when he says “If you puckle gun to my head with the square barrel.”
This is a great nile crocodile episode.
this video made me forget about my headache for almost 2 hours
If i recall, the snake-like head MAY have to do with an early scrapped plesiosaurus scene in JW fallen kingdom/dominion, but dont quote me on that.
The plesiosaurus was mentioned to have snake-like features in that
Rare palaeontology W with plesiosaurus not being the weirdest, biggest and most derived member of its group while also being the main representative 😂
Sweet! Next time, we're *_FINALLY_* getting one we haven't seen the biome for yet!
I look forward to the episode on Megaraptorans featuring Austalovenator.

Can you tell me which bit the Skeleton Crew used in their intro?...
... Grreeeeaaat job!
47:00 Martin!!
Maybe they found the Plesiosaur holotype next to a small squamate, so it was the one that was near that lizard... d:
Truly one of the creatures of all time.
1:05 quote of the episode
i haven't commented yet bc i'm shy, but i'm looking forward to australovenator!
1:37:40 Can’t wait for the ninety minute phylogeny tangent!
Very good symetry in the introduction! Bit, no bit, bit, no bit, bit - S tier

To the croc discussion. Isn’t there a recent find of a long armed marine croc from Florida during the Cenozoic?
I thought about commenting on this video. But in the end, I decided against it.

I really wish Rhomaleosaurus was in the game.

I hope Kyle bought the lymphatic system a drink before he got sucked
such a classic

Four saints
Wasn't it a movie design actually ? I remember leaks saying that plesiosaurus was supposed to be seen in malta with this design
"Aw-stra-low-ven-a-tor".
Am I crazy or did Alex get a hair cut?
I give it a B. I don’t mind the snake face. It reminds me of a pointy king cobra. I prefer Attenburoughsaurus.
Breaking news: New material proves spinosaurus is a plesiosaur and plesiosaurs are mammals now
Please upload a video of James reciting disgusting sounding medical terms into a high-quality microphone, it would help me sleep more soundly I think
Update; I have liked this video and commented on it 😎
That was the most out of sync intro lmaoo
Already an H Tier video
1:13 im ashamed at myself for responding. ILL BE 20 THIS YEAR AND IM STILL A FUCKIN TODDLER 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Blues Clues mentioned??? H teir
Turtle power cowabunga
Commenting but not because James told me to or whatever 🙄🙄🙄

42:23 that’s not that gross looking if you didn’t tell me what it was I would guess that’s it’s some kind of milk or cream

New Mandela Effect.
Lmao
I don’t like this Design, it’s ugly. I use Attenboroughsaurus and Icthyosaurus in their own enclosure.
YEAAAAAH Austrlavenator!
Next you're gonna tell me shes married to the muffin man.
