      You essentially have it, that it what Apple wants you to do, how do you think they make their money, certainly not by making computers that last and certainly not by making computers that can be easily repaired!

    WTF??? why it have to be so complex to change a simple keyboard??? I bought an expensive MacBook Pro 13 in 2017 and one and half year later my keyboard looks like a sponge... No way I am going to pay for fixing this project problem. I miss my old T430 Thinkpad!!!!!!! 4 screws , one connector and the new keyboard was installed....

    • @fx4147
      @fx4147 5 лет назад +2

      why? because they dont want it to be repaired, but rather disposed and so you would rather buy a whole new device.

    • @just1ed

      Totally agree. He should be using isopropyl alcohol or alcohol contact cleaner. The battery is totally bent out of shape. It will work but he has effectively damaged a customer’s battery. The capacity will diminish a lot and in future the customer might experience sudden drops or sudden shutdowns. Removing the centre battery pack instead of the entire battery is correct though.

    Apple marketing department does an excellent job hiding the fact that MacBook Pros are all but ecological because repairing them is almost impossible for a normal person. Keyboard issues in the A1706 series are a nightmare.

      A customer approved a cost of nearly $600 for this service for me to do it at my shop. Frankly now that I'm getting into it I'm not sure that's enough... I'm hopeful this repair doesn't give me any issues and I'm probably just going to tell any future customers that we won't do these keyboards on 2016+ This is just stupid... $400 is a bargain to be honest.

    I think I will be selling my Apple stock, Apple has gone off the deep end! They are making terrifically expensive throw away products! POOR design and NOT eco friendly if you have to junk the computer because you cannot easy replace a part like a drive or the keyboard. I know it is not easy to replace a keyboard on a older Macbook, but you dont have to grind out any rivets. You str SOL if you dont have a warranty and from what I here, Apple is farming out their repairs to the cheapest contractor. Sad a Company this rich cant care for their customers and the eco system. a Company dont have more cash than the uS Government if they are not making maximum profits! Shame on you Apple! I would not have a new MacBook. One other thing...Why is it the Computers have to be as thing as they are making them? Makes no sense, they cant cool themselves that tightly packed, so what do they do when you put a load on them, they throttel back the processor slowing it way down after a second or two while you sit an look at your multi thousand dollar computer doing nothing!
