Hope you find the review useful. We try to be fair but honest about our feelings and how our experience was. Many people seem to enjoy their stay here from reviews on Trip advisor and many don't, so i would love to hear from anyone else who stays as i do suspect that rooms on the lower floors are a much better standard and can maybe let us know.
There's a lot worst in Blackpool, but when you pay good money you expect a certain standard and being clean surly is paramount for any hotel or B&B. Having stayed in a dump in Blackpool last year , I always read the lowest score reviews as they seem to be honest.
Good advice thank you. I don't like to think of myself as a negative person who moans at everything, i like to praise more than i do complain but unfortunately we found so little to be positive about. The decor and price wouldn't have bothered me so much if it was clean.
Years ago we stopped at the President. ( Don’t know if it’s still going) What a crap hole. Certainly the worst hotel I have stayed, and I’ve stayed in plenty. Vowed to never stay in Blackpool ever again, the whole place is tack city.
Sadly Mark i think standards in Blackpool have really slipped. We had friends at other hotels who also had bad experiences. The Liberty's Hotel is ranked 42 of 93 hotels on trip advisor in Blackpool. I dread to think what 43 to 93 are like! 😱
Recently stayed at a B&B in Blackpool. As i was tidying up after a two-night stay, i pulled back the bed linen to reveal a pile of stale doner kebab meat, obviously left there by a previous guest. Clearly, the owner hadn't bothered to change the bedsheets. Those who argue that Benidorm is Blackpool in the sun are mistaken. Benidorm offers excellent accommodation, even to those on a budget; Blackpool however....
I think its very sad for Blackpool that we have to lower our standards and accept tired unclean rooms. I get its a very competitive area, i get covid did not help but things should be starting to improve now. I guess the hotels feel they don't need to make improvements when they are filling the rooms. So many of us have happy childhood memories of Blackpool and it is very sad to see its decline and neglect. Cheap and Cheerful no longer. You would get better value in Benidorm and some guaranteed sun.😞😞😞🌞🌞🌞😎😎😎
So, here I am at 70, remembering the lovely Georgian townhouse hotel my parents and I stayed at on Eccleston Square. £10 a night included full breakfast!! Spotless and in London!! Those were the days.
Lovely to hear your memories so thanks for sharing. Georgian is my favourite period so i can only imagine how lovely the hotel was. £100 in Blackpool now does not even get you breakfast 😱
I feel so sad that Blackpool is falling into the state of decay and thats not just the hotels. Its a shame that this hotel is happy to charge a fortune for a room and have no pride in the state or standard of the room they present or any care for their customers. The hotel was full so demand is still there and i guess even though they get a lot of very bad reviews they have no intention of improving standards for all guests. Long term that will do them a lot of harm. 😱
@@midatravel Still mind taking my daughter into the Sandcastle one year, Possibly 2010 / 2011 and it was £38 Was talking with a fellow jock when I was heading out at the end and he was joking about me being lucky as he had 4 kids lol. Been in plenty of water parks and swimming pools in my days and the Sandcastle was one of the biggest let-downs and vastly overpriced, that was my first and only visit.
We needed to be by the North pier as that was the location of the wedding and after party. We were a little limited for availability so took what we could. I think there was a punk festival on the same weekend and of course summer holidays. Reviews are very mixed and pictures on their site are not too bad so we took chance with Liberty's. Thanks for advice about the 'Blue Hotel' will certainly give that a try in the future. 🙂@@anthonycrompton6922
It's good to see a proper review ,as some times when you just read reviews it makes you wounder who puts them on ,because when you get somewhere it's nothing like the written reviews thank you
Thanks for your response, it makes us happy when people have found our content useful. I guess we are all different with our likes and dislikes. I knew when putting the review on that many people on trip advisor love the hotel. We can only put on our experience so that it acts to balance out the good and bad and allows people to see all sides without any hidden agenda. Thanks for watching, hopefully we will be doing many more Blackpool reviews. 🙂
I do think parking costs are disgusting that's not welcoming to BP at all. it did not look good from 1st seeing it. spending £100 a night seems a rip off. I would complain about the sheets. its not good for BP too have places that are so poorly cleaned there is no reason for it.
Thanks for watching and for you comments. You are definitely right about parking, its an added expense at a time when people are having to watch their pennies and £13 is a lot of money but unfortunately its a necessary evil. I do think that its wrong to have to pay to park at your hotel but it is way more reasonable at £6 than that private car park. I have used park on my drive before in Blackpool which was brilliant but even they seem to have got very expensive. I think in hindsight we should have gone to the reception to make the complaint about the sheet but we were rushed to get to the wedding party and were only spending a small amount of time in the room. 😞😞😞
Cheers Debbie, do feel we were ripped off. Good news is that it sold shortly after our stay and reports are that it has greatly improved so hopefully new owners are investing money in upgrading those grotty rooms and achieving the potential we felt this hotel did have with the right owners. 🙂
So sad to see the continuing decline of such an iconic seaside resort such as Blackpool. Many years ago i read about such amazing plans there were to bring Blackpool up to standard but it never materialised, maybe due to Brexit and then of course covid didn't help. I have hopes that with the Liberty hotel now in the hands of new owners that it is greatly improved. Will hopefully return one day and give it another try and Blackpool will one day be once again that iconic seaside resort that so many of us enjoyed and rememberred from our childhood. 🙂
Thanks for watching Mark. Myself and my partner have both put reviews on trip advisor so i was rather hoping manager would comment but nothing so far. Would be nice to have a chat with the manager. 😱
We have heard its been taken over by new owners so will be interesting to return one day and see if standards have improved. Agree with you that cleanliness is so important when you are paying hard earned cash to stay somewhere. The least you should accept. 🙂
We stayed there last year our room was ok I think because it’s no longer a Shearings Hotel the maintenance lacks a bit still better than the Britannia hotels
I'm not surprised at all that Shearings may have stopped using this hotel. Have seen reviews on trip advisor from people at hotel with Shearings. They have obviously been listening to their customers. I do not think its ideal for older people who may have mobility issues. 😞😞😞
I booked into the New Osterley Hotel in Adelaide Road.....absolutely disgusting.!!! No draught beer in bar , only small cans of lager for £3 50 and refused a drink after 11 oclock: went elsewhere. Bar upholstery ripped and stuck with cellotape, room had cracked sink, old furniture and a collapsing ceiling. I have travelled extensively and this place is an exceptionally bad place so please avoid unless you are on drugs . Kitchen closed too , so no food.£72 per night. Council should not be allowing these doss houses to operate but maybe there is a financial incentive for some people to allow this to go on.?? Blackpool could be a really nice place once again.!
Thanks for watching and for your very interesting comment. We definitely hope to be doing more Blackpool reviews, like you i really hope that Blackpool can be nice again, it really has deteriorated and it seems that a lot of the hotels are not worried about the service and conditions of their hotel. No customer care or service at all. Would be good to try and hunt down the good ones. 🤔
Hi Gary, yes i think we did sort of feel deflated before we went in but then hopes were raised by reception and the show bar, ultimately our initial optimism was shattered on entering our room! 😱
Have to agree with you %100, not only do they charge but they are also quiet about having this facility. We paid £13 as we had no clue the car park existed, could have saved some money to offset high expense of room. Guess its a way of raking in a bit more money. 😞😞😞
I most definitely agree with you, i think you will see from our faces before we went in that we were not too hopeful. unfortunately we didn't have much option and it was only one night. 😱
Blackpool went down the pan a long time ago , there's too many of these flea pits charging silly money for a doss house and your better off going up the road to Clevelys where you can find some decent b& bs for half that cost and you'll get a nice breakfast inc... 👍
I do agree that it was in decline prior to covid and unfortunately the industry took a massive hit and lets just hope that as they recover the proper investment will be put in to improve the situation. Thank you for your advice about Clevelys, information like that is also very useful to our viewers. 🙂
The hotel was not our first choice but it was a case of what was available. Unfortunately prices at most the hotels now seem to go up for weekends (stag & hen do's factor?). We certainly feel for the money that we paid we definitely did not expect the level of cleanliness we encountered, feel that our situation is not an isolated one when it comes to Blackpool hotels, a real shame, i will hunt out the good ones on my next visit.
I definitely think the whole policy of servicing rooms every other day is wrong and just makes the job so much harder for the housekeeping team. I would imagine they must feel very deflated trying to make any impression on these rooms. 😱
As mentioned already on here, this hotel has been up for sale for over 18 months. This year we stayed in both The Fairfield and The Stafford on Albert Road (max 3 nights each) both very disappointing similar to your experiences at the Liberty's, but having just googled the Liberty's Hotel after watching your video I now see both those hotels we stayed in are also up for sale, seems to be a bit of a pattern.....And another 5 minutes of googling I now see many many "popular" hotel are also up for sale in Blackpool !!
Thanks for watching and for your very useful comments. I have a certain amount of sympathy for the hotel trade, covid was such a difficult time for them and i think for some they will never recover, hence the high number of hotels up for sale. Does not mean i accept the low standards of repair and cleanliness that have been reached, no i don't but i would like to see in the long term the situation improve and then hopefully renovations and getting these places back up to scratch, we can but hope. Will be doing further video's of Blackpool hotel so will certainly consider the hotels you have mentioned. 🙂
Used to stay there years ago when it was a private hotel, it was very good then with brilliant entertainment. Am staying in north premier inn next month, nightly rate cheaper than liberties.
Location is perfect and i did think that the ground floor with the show bar was the best part of the hotel. Would like to know if any rooms have been refurbished. We like Premier Inns, clean, good beds and do a cracking breakfast. 😃
I see it’s presently up for sale with a price tag of £1.5 million. Sounds like it needs major investment to bring it up to scratch so good luck with that valuation!
Lets hope that whoever buys it will take the time to put in some investment. This hotel is in an ideal location and has lots of potential to be a really good hotel, but a lot of work needs to be done. Be interesting to see what it goes for and also who take it on. 🙂🙂🙂
Saw no evidence of that but if it is hopefully the new owners would complete some much needed renovations and show a little more enthusiasm to improve standards compared to the current owners. 😞😞😞
To be honest where ever you go in England most hotels are tired etc. Especially bathrooms. Not cheap either. Becareful of the shower you could get Legionnaire disease from dirty shower heads. I always take antibacterial wipes , I become the cleaner on holiday lol. I always take a towel to put over the bed pillows. What more can I say!!!!! I could😮
Hi Carolyne, have to agree that most hotels overcharge nowadays. I can forgive rooms being tired, especially after the difficult time during covid for the hospitality industry. But there is no excuse for cleanliness. Really appreciate your really useful tips and will certainly be taking those on board on our future hotel travels. 🙂
Hard to believe the prices now of Blackpool hotels, the least you should expect at any price is a clean and tidy room and unfortunately it would appear that many hotels are failing with this. I understand the hard time the industry went through but there is no excuse for dirt/mould/damp. Name and shame and hopefully other people will avoid the same conditions. Thanks for watching 🙂
Thats gone down hill. We used to go there when it had the Liberty Showboat in there. Theyve got a damned cheek to charge over a hundred quid to spend the night in damp, dusty, mouldy squalor
I had not been before. Agree 100% that the room we stayed in was a disgrace and how they can charge over £100 for it is out of order. I had a response on trip advisor to my review, would appear renovations have not got as far as the room we were in but we are charged the same. I read a bit of history about the hotel and apparently people used to queue to get into the Liberty showboat when it first opened, it was the place to go to. The show lounge is pretty decent but shame they have let the rest go to such bad decline and are happy to get constant 1 star reviews because of the state of the hotel. 😱😞
I definitely wouldn't have stayed more than 1 night, fortunately we didn't have to spend too long in the room as we were there for a wedding so drinking till early hours of morning! 🍹🍹🍹
Definitely feel ripped off for the price we paid and what we got. Busy weekend so most of the hotels hiked their prices up. Quite shocking for Blackpool. 😱
I said exactly the same thing. It was probably issued years ago and is not something that is annually reviewed. Definitely misleading and a slur on both stay Blackpool and visit Englands recommendations. 🤔🤔🤔
A lot of the big coach holiday companies these days are owned by the same group, so they operate to the lowest common denominator which is National Holidays.
I think in its current state the room we had was unfit to use. If refurbed then i think without breakfast a fairer price would be around the £60 mark. 🤔
I stayed at Liberty Hotel a few years ago. Maybe they have been unlucky with the room, but I didn't have the same problem with my room then (about three years ago). My room was immaculately clean, very spacious, and everything working. I couldn't fault anything about the room. I paid around the same price. Breakfast was pleasant. I agree. On reception, it was really abrupt and did lack and personality or friendliness. The only problem I had with my stay was that I did request a sea view that did look over a car park. This was constantly a problem because I had to open a window because it was a hot season and was disturbed several times with the cars and locking system. I didn't think the place was open on arrival. I wouldn't say anything negative on my own personal experience, but I have found better around the smaller hotels in that area. I visit Blackpool fairly regularly due to personal reasons, or I would probably go abroad. Some of the deals are not too bad among the hotels' surroundings. It does make a difference... sometimes, I can put up with some small issues if it is a pleasure to stay.
Hi Chris, thanks for watching and for your post. I think we probably were in part just unlucky with regards to room we were given, however the reviews on Trip Adviser are very mixed, would seem people either love it or hate it. We try to be fair but can only record it as we find it. Not looked recently to see if things have improved, i hope they have. I think everyones experience is there own and can be very different to the next person. Shame you didn't get that sea view, we didn't get one either but no surprise there as we didn't ask or pay for one. Be interesting to try other hotels next time we visit Blackpool because i do believe there will be many worse options! 😱
@midatravel Yes, I agree. In your video, the mould and damp looked bad, and the other issues were not fair, considering the price. At my time of visit, it wasn't actually booming considering the time of the season, so maybe the lockdown during covid had some impact. Anyway, I hope you have better luck next time. Thanks for posting
I think if we had booked more than one night we would not have remained. I am quite shocked that hotels are prepared to let there rooms in the condition they are, they obviously don't care about bad reviews or even their customer base. Will be doing more visits to Blackpool so will be sure to probably be shocked at other hotels but hope we find that gem of a place too. Thanks for watching. 🙂🙂🙂
I would normally have pushed to see the manager as it was so bad but we were due at wedding and fortunately only had one night to put up with it. Won't be returning though. ☹
So happy you had such a positive experience, as i said in my pinned comment many people on trip advisor report having the same experience of you. This was our experience and i'm afraid it was not good as i think the video portrays. A dirty room at the price they charge is not acceptable. ☹☹☹
I know where i would rather have stayed but i think Premier Inn was double the price for the night we wanted to go. I am a big fan of Premier Inns but again they hike prices up if they can get away with it. 😱
Do not like the fact that they only service the room every other day, it is clear that things will quickly deteriorate. Cleanliness should be the most important factor in looking after guests but sadly this hotel fails miserably and its quite shocking how they do not seem to take any pride in their presentation. 😱😱😱
Hi Elaine, well at least we know never to go back. Thanks for your advice about Cliffs, will definitely take a look at that one for our future visits. Thanks for watching. 🙂
We went in February 2024 its called caladonian towers now it was really clean and the room was brilliant but the stairs oh my god its not disabled friendly i have to use a wheelchair and it was horrible for my husband's back he had to keep lifting my chair up and down stairs and me trying to use the stairs was unbelievable
Hi Margaret. Thanks for this update. I heard it had been sold and i am so pleased that the new owners have got it up to scratch. We always thought from the ground floor that it had the potential to be a really nice hotel. I think the reason a lot of coach companies stopped using the hotel was because of the one small lift and no ground floor rooms, can't imagine what it was like trying to get the lift at busy times. Maybe we will revisit one day to bury those bad memories.
Don't think i would go quite that far but it certainly could do with some money spending on it and a total refurb of all the rooms, lift and corridors. Somehow think they will keep accepting guests, charging ridiculous amount for a night and not really caring. ☹
I think that hotel was very expensive for one night then you had to pay a extra £7-50p if you wanted a breakfast 🍳 no thank you 🙏 you can get cheaper elsewhere! I thought the hotel wasn’t clean and not up to standards for the price I’ve stayed In better hotels and much cheaper in Blackpool it would be a no from me I’m going to see what other people have said on the reviews on the website thank you 🙏 for review guys!!
I think when there are big events on they hike up the prices, probably not helped by summer school holidays either and the fact that it was a weekend. A lot of views on trip advisor echo our experience but there are also a number of very positive reviews which makes me wonder if the lower floor rooms have had a refurbishment. Will definitely be trying other alternatives on our next visit. Thanks for watching. 🙂
I stayed there a few days ago it was the only one we could get at last minute and my mom had to change rooms because it was smelly and stinky and we got a good room but the bath was awful. I would go again but not in summer because there is no air conditioning in any of the rooms. For the price it was excellent value for the price of £44 a night. Would recommend.
I think had we paid £44 then we wouldn't have felt so short changed, although that doesn't excuse the cleanliness issues. I really think when it comes to the rooms at Liberty's it seems to me that there are different standards and maybe some have been renovated and some haven't. Can i just ask what floor your good room was on? 🤔
Even though it is more expensive, I always try to budget for bigger international brands when traveling. Hotels like the Hilton, Radisson etc. are always well kept and have a good service. I wouldn't touch those beds with my bare hands. The fear of bedbugs and other dirty shite living inside that room would be too much. Sorry for your experience. The mold is unaccetable!
Blackpool always used to be cheap but it was also clean, guest houses were of a very good standard so hotel wouldn't have been my usual choice. Definitely expected more and was so shocked at the standard of the room they were happy to occupy and charge over £100. Won't be returning to that hotel for sure and maybe next time will look for a more recognised hotel brand. Hopefully the video will have saved many more the experience of having to stay in our room like ours! 😱
Somebody has previously said it was up for sale but i did not know it had been sold. I am pleased because hopefully with new owners they will spend some money bringing the place up to scratch. Would be great at some point to go back and see if anything has changed/improved. 🙂
@@Mary_Rees My first ever visit / holiday was 1974 - I was 5 and still have lots of photos from that very holiday, lost count after that the amount of day trips or weekend breaks Id have in Blackpool then ended up working and living there when I was about 19 for for about 6 months then moved away. Id take my daughter pretty much every year sometimes twice per year since she was about 4 ''that being the millennium 2000'' Like plenty of others I've got some amazing memories in the place BUT sadly haven't been back since 2018 as just felt it was 2rundown and back then just wasn't enjoyable walking around and didn't feel like being on holiday. I hope things pick up and pick up SOON but just feel now the Town might be 2far gone, I really hope I'm proved wrong. A great shame watching the Town just slide away.
Thanks for your recommendation Ray. Not only does it help us for next time but also anyone else watching and reading the comments. Hopefully at some point in the future we will be able to give some positive feedback about accommodation in Blackpool. 🙂
Rooms serviced every other day and black mould? No wonder the restaurant was empty.... Mould is a killer, I'd of asked for another room, you don't want to be inhaling that stuff all night. Hope the wedding was better🌞🎉🎂💘🫂💒!
Knowing the hotel was full it would have been hard to change room. Fortunately we did not have to spend too long in the room so stuck it out, certainly would not have stayed longer and would never return. ☹☹☹
Hi, thanks for watching and for your tip about the Grand, will definitely be checking that out for future Blackpool visits. Not many hotels have swimming pools in Blackpool so good tip. 🙂
We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel. It was available for £7.50 per person. Lots of cheaper options outside the hotel. Shame they don't include it in the price. ☹
By the time we got back from our wedding reception/party it was 2am and we had to be out by 10am. Definitely not worth what we paid but fortunately we were only in the room a very short time. Think this room should be put out of action though.
Greetings back at you from a wet and windy Shropshire, It most definitely does Ian, i wanted to use Catherine Tates comment as gran in the title but maybe not appropriate 😂😂😂
I stayed there with my kids XXX I thought it was Fine you get what you pay for xx the entertainment was good and we enjoyed it our stay xx I don't remember any damp or feeling it wasn't clean xxx would I stay there again xxxx Yeah Sure
I am not surprised by your comments as many people on trip advisor enjoy their stay at this hotel. I do feel that maybe some rooms have been updated and some rooms haven't. Perhaps by the time the cleaners get to the third floor they have lost interest? I also think the only servicing rooms every other day is not acceptable. Like i said in the review the foyer and show lounge looked really good, sadly as we were only there one night for another function we didn't get to experience it. Happy you enjoyed it and thanks for balancing out our poor experience with a positive one.
A hefty price and will probably also cost a fortune for the refurb thats needed to the rooms. Hope the new owners will let this hotel fulfil its potential. 🙂
Its quite sad to see, all i expected was a clean room to sleep in but no investment is being made in giving hotel rooms in Blackpool a much needed make-over. ☹☹☹
Stayed in some great hotels in London, a great place to visit and yes Blackpool has declined but it still holds happy memories for so many people especially from their childhood days. Northern people definitely take some beating for friendliness but i think South Wales take some beating. 🙂🙂🙂
Thanks for watching and thanks so much for letting us know, i heard it was up for sale. I really hope that Caledonian spend some money to bring this place up to scratch, i think with a bit of money spending on it, it could be a lovely hotel. 🙂
I have happy childhood memories of Blackpool, yes its always been cheap and cheerful but you can't even say that now, so i find it really sad to see it in its current state. ☹
@@midatravel I stayed at a hotel there about 20 years ago, looks ok on the front but all the backstreets behind the houses had bags of open rubbish, clothes, food all over the street and rats.
Thanks for watching Steve and big thank you for your encouraging comment. I guessed that there is a big difference in the room you get, some seem to have been renovated and some haven't, but it should not be a lottery when you pay £102 for a night as to whether you are lucky or unlucky with the room you are allocated. 😞😞😞
Guess the only way we can fight back is exposing these hotels that sadly lack in valuing their clients. These breaks are what we work hard for and bad accommodation can seriously spoil a holiday you have worked hard for. 😒@@steviet3880
I am certainly worried if this is ranked 42 out of 94 on trip advisor, just how much worse do things get. Think we will be finding out on future visits! 😱😱😱
I stayed there in 2021 for 5 days I see there is some improvements to the seating area at the bar it was real filthy with wall paper coming off the walls, it was very dark and dingy full of dust they just opened after covid so I suspect the place had just been taken over, my room wasn't bad it was clean but there was no cleaner you had to clean yourself, there was clean towels I the hot water was limited , the windows were on a chain when you opened them they were rusty as anything the wind howled through them, the food was alright it wasn't bad but the breakfast was a nightmare you had self service there wasn't any fruit just toast cereals and tea no cooked breakfast. as for the bar toilets they were stinking as a typical pub toilets would smell. It seems to be removed from the Caledonian Travel brochure so I suspect it's not very popular due to the stairs lift being full in the mornings.
Hi, thanks for watching and your very informative comment. I do think that the foyer and bar were very presentable and once you moved beyond these areas things declined rapidly. I hadn't really thought about people having to queue for the 2 person lift but i can really see that this would be quite horrendous at busy times. The improvements have clearly not reached all rooms but maybe those such as ours should be out of order until the improvements are made or at least give a lick of paint and a thorough clean. Would appear from yours and other comments that both Shearings and Caledonian are no longer using this hotel which is a blessing for their customers looking for a good holiday. I think the hotel has a lot of potential but until management start investing in their hotel things will continue to decline as well as their customer base. 😞😞😞
It really doesn't surprise me as so many hotels are these days. We saw no evidence whilst we were there that this is still the case. The hotel was surprisingly quiet considering it was full. We never saw another guest during our brief stay there. 🙂🙂
@midatravel Must admit I'm a Premier Inn bloke myself, for short stays. Having said that, stayed at Albert Dock P I recently, wasn't impressed, worst one I've been to,I think. Take care boys.

Did you shop around the hotels the Pleasure Beach own ie the ‘Blue Hotel’ are superb and about the same price
This was a great video Mike. Really gives good view of this hotel for people
Cheers sweet, don't underestimate your input too. ❤❤❤❤
Mould ,dust everywhere, filthy dirty and they have the cheek to charge. No excuse for this!
Cheers Debbie, do feel we were ripped off. Good news is that it sold shortly after our stay and reports are that it has greatly improved so hopefully new owners are investing money in upgrading those grotty rooms and achieving the potential we felt this hotel did have with the right owners. 🙂
Since Brexit, sadly alot of the hotel staff no longer work in Blackpool.
Extortion is the only word that I can connect to this situation.
Guess if the demand is still there they will charge what they can get. Weekend prices seem to double but i definitely feel ripped off! ☹☹☹
The most extortionate is the premier inn charging over 200 pound a night. When the new holiday inn opens it should knock the prices down
Wow, what a complete dump....very helpful vlog....would have requested a refund....😢😢😢.cheers mark
Thanks for watching Mark. Myself and my partner have both put reviews on trip advisor so i was rather hoping manager would comment but nothing so far. Would be nice to have a chat with the manager. 😱
Cleanliness is so important.
We have heard its been taken over by new owners so will be interesting to return one day and see if standards have improved. Agree with you that cleanliness is so important when you are paying hard earned cash to stay somewhere. The least you should accept. 🙂
We are staying at the Wilcot. It's lovely 😁. So is the mardi Gras. Both cheaper and really clean and great breakfast ❤
Thanks for your recommendations, we will definitely be checking those out next time we go, i love a good breakfast! 🙂🙂🙂
What a bloody Liberty that hotel needs some inspectors around. Otherwise pull it down or renovate it. I’m not going there. 😮
We won't be going back either, lets hope whoever buys it takes it seriously and turns this place around. 🤔
Even the look of the outside was a clue with it's crumbling plaster on the walls. A bit of a shocker. Good video.
Hi Gary, yes i think we did sort of feel deflated before we went in but then hopes were raised by reception and the show bar, ultimately our initial optimism was shattered on entering our room! 😱
Why is a hotel charging it’s guests for parking.
Have to agree with you %100, not only do they charge but they are also quiet about having this facility. We paid £13 as we had no clue the car park existed, could have saved some money to offset high expense of room. Guess its a way of raking in a bit more money. 😞😞😞
A lot of hotels these days charge extra for parking. Kaaaaching.
You should go to the new inn in the middle of Gloucester really bad.
Can't believe there can be any worse but will steer well clear of the New Inn, i dread to think! 😱😱😱
Exterior alone should have set alarm bells ringing.
I most definitely agree with you, i think you will see from our faces before we went in that we were not too hopeful. unfortunately we didn't have much option and it was only one night. 😱
@@midatravel One night too many lol
@@jimgemmell2831 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Blackpool went down the pan a long time ago , there's too many of these flea pits charging silly money for a doss house and your better off going up the road to Clevelys where you can find some decent b& bs for half that cost and you'll get a nice breakfast inc...
👍
I do agree that it was in decline prior to covid and unfortunately the industry took a massive hit and lets just hope that as they recover the proper investment will be put in to improve the situation. Thank you for your advice about Clevelys, information like that is also very useful to our viewers. 🙂
Comparing to Premier Inn, very pricey. Cleanliness was shocking. Not as if you had chosen a cheap hotel and you did not get what you paid for.
🙂🙂🙂😎
Housekeeping need sacking, disgusting
I've heard it is up for sale at £1.5m
There is no excuse for a dirty room at all it's a basic right the price of the stay was to high even if it was clean. Thank you guys 👏👏
Liberty Showboat was always full. Lee DeJohn, who ran the show, then moved. Now runs and stars in the Viva venue on the main promenade.@@midatravel
Blimey that's disgusting i would have left.
I definitely wouldn't have stayed more than 1 night, fortunately we didn't have to spend too long in the room as we were there for a wedding so drinking till early hours of morning! 🍹🍹🍹
It looks yuck. Disgraceful, considering the amount you have paid. x
Definitely feel ripped off for the price we paid and what we got. Busy weekend so most of the hotels hiked their prices up. Quite shocking for Blackpool. 😱
This is a palace compared with the grand in Llandudno..
Is this really a recommended hotel from Stay Blackpool and VisitEngland?
I said exactly the same thing. It was probably issued years ago and is not something that is annually reviewed. Definitely misleading and a slur on both stay Blackpool and visit Englands recommendations. 🤔🤔🤔
keep up the good work guys
Cheers Patrick, appreciate all that come to watch our content. 🙂🙂🙂❤
Its a shearing's hotel. They are awful.
Quite shocked that Sherarings use this hotel, i think Caledonian also use it. Really would like to know how often they check these hotels. 😱
A lot of the big coach holiday companies these days are owned by the same group, so they operate to the lowest common denominator which is National Holidays.
It’s not worth a hundred pounds a night
Wow! That hotel was totally unexceptable! 😮
Thanks for watching. Glad you agree, at the very least you expect things to be clean! ☹
Hi lads I stay in there is very poor hotel mate it' was so dirty I left .... There's quite a few hotels the same in Blackpool
Thanks for the review, very poor i would have asked for a different room, if unavailable, a discount, it is unacceptable, and not cheap !
I would normally have pushed to see the manager as it was so bad but we were due at wedding and fortunately only had one night to put up with it. Won't be returning though. ☹
I STAYED AT THAT HOTEL WITH MY EX PARTNER AND WE LOVED IT AS THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT
So happy you had such a positive experience, as i said in my pinned comment many people on trip advisor report having the same experience of you. This was our experience and i'm afraid it was not good as i think the video portrays. A dirty room at the price they charge is not acceptable. ☹☹☹
I’ve seen a hell of a lost worse, but would never pay £100 a night especially as no breakfast included.
Well done guys!
Thanks very much and thanks for watching 🙂
Having said this it was a while since I stayed there and 100 pounds a night is a lot more than we paid XXX It's a LOT xxx
I think if we had paid half of what we did we could still not forgive the cleanliness. 😱😱😱
£100 / room thats premier Inn prices...!!!
I know where i would rather have stayed but i think Premier Inn was double the price for the night we wanted to go. I am a big fan of Premier Inns but again they hike prices up if they can get away with it. 😱
Shocking more effort should be made to keep rooms clean
Do not like the fact that they only service the room every other day, it is clear that things will quickly deteriorate. Cleanliness should be the most important factor in looking after guests but sadly this hotel fails miserably and its quite shocking how they do not seem to take any pride in their presentation. 😱😱😱
Hi no I would not stop at that hotel. We’re going next week for a weekend we always stay at the cliffs lv it .
Hi Elaine, well at least we know never to go back. Thanks for your advice about Cliffs, will definitely take a look at that one for our future visits. Thanks for watching. 🙂
I'm so glad I didn't book there 😟🤮
You definitely had a lucky escape, hope where you did book was really nice. 🤔🙂
Was an absolute dump and rip off. They certainly did take a Liberty.
Well they lose out because we will not return. 😞😞😞
Maybe you should have booked the Metropole. That should be spotless with the migrants.
😱😱😱 Maybe our next visit we will give the Metropole a try, whether we stay is another matter. 🤔
I'm sorry you guys didn't enjoy your stay, but this proves that Blackpool is the dump of the North, the only good thing is the M55 out of there.
Fortunately we had a lovely time at our friends wedding so this more than made up for it. The M55 was indeed a welcome sight 💒🙂
Tried the butterflys hotel few year back in blackpool worst ever rather sleep rough and shit my own trousers than stay in there again
I shouldn't laugh but i did 😂😂😂. I dread to think how bad things can get in Blackpool and something we will be exploring! 😱😱😱
The whole place needs knocking down! 🗼
Don't think i would go quite that far but it certainly could do with some money spending on it and a total refurb of all the rooms, lift and corridors. Somehow think they will keep accepting guests, charging ridiculous amount for a night and not really caring. ☹
You mean Blackpool? 😉🤣
@@midatravel the same floor
I'm sorry but I couldn't stada I would have had to walk out and complain and I want care for that room at all😮
It was certainly shocking indeed but we only had to put up with it for a short time otherwise we would have gone elsewhere! 😱😱😱

Migrants get better accommodation than that.
Lets hope renovations are carried out , apparently its up for sale so maybe new owners will put proper investment in. ☹
You need to go back and do another review as liberties us now owned by caladonian and called caladonian towers
Somebody has previously said it was up for sale but i did not know it had been sold. I am pleased because hopefully with new owners they will spend some money bringing the place up to scratch. Would be great at some point to go back and see if anything has changed/improved. 🙂

Think it is up for sale certainly needs some investmem.
Just hope the new owners whoever they are spend money and time in helping this hotel reach its full potential. 🤔
Taking the piss ain’t they …..what a bloody liberty
They most certainly were, couldn't have said it better! ☹
You do relisise it was a migration hotel ?
It really doesn't surprise me as so many hotels are these days. We saw no evidence whilst we were there that this is still the case. The hotel was surprisingly quiet considering it was full. We never saw another guest during our brief stay there. 🙂🙂
It's a wonder it's not full of migrants
They wouldn't stay there
@@chrisrichardson774 😅
I'd feel very sorry for them if they were. ☹
Lawyers would be on the case!
@@midatravel lol
Yuk
make that a double.......yuk yuk indeed 😱
Simple, don't stay there.
Unless you take a chance sometimes you could be missing something thats fab! We won't be staying there again. 😞
@midatravel Must admit I'm a Premier Inn bloke myself, for short stays.
Having said that, stayed at Albert Dock P I recently, wasn't impressed, worst one I've been to,I think.
Take care boys.
Like watching a poor man's 4 in a bed 😊
Shoohooxxooxxx

Islam is like Rust it never sleeps 💤 so be vigilant
oh ok thanks. 🤔
Refugees live better 😂😂😂
Up for sale now 1.2 million.
Really hope the new owners, if someone is brave enough to take it on, spend some money to give this hotel the full potential that is has.
You got a bargain there. Moaning about the view. What did you expect the Sydney opera house. Or wilder beast magesticly passing by your window. Or perhaps krakotoa erupting. Those bed sheets were spotless. And the tea was pgtips. Proper English. And the lift was OK. You got a bargain there. That carpet was persian. 🏴🇵🇸🇷🇺🇺🇬🇬🇧💯
This is hilarious. Thanks for putting a smile on my face😂
Ha ha great humor
