Not surprised about the water, i think they are trying to reduce their plastic waste. The premium wines were in all honesty no better than the ones available on the AI so don't think it will be a big loss. Always surprised me how limited Marella's wine choice is. 🤔

It don’t used to be. Back in the Dream and Celebration days there was always a good choice. After about water we always ended up with about 4 full bottles by the end of the week

Some of the main bars can get busy at times, mainly pool bar, squid and anchor and lounge/art house. It has though never been an issue to us and we have never had to wait longer than 5mins to get a drink, waiters are walking about but that can be hit or miss. Depending on which ship you are going on we like the bar at the aft, Summer house on voyager for example, always much quieter. So i don't think you will find it too much of an issue. Often if you go up one flight of steps from the pool deck there is a much quieter bar to get drinks for around the pool. Hope this helps. 🍹🍹🍹😎😎😎

So i like the layout and impact of some areas better than Explorer/Voyager. We try and help pass on what we learn so get much satisfaction when people let us know our vlogs have helped. I've watched a few of the Susan Calman cruising episodes but i just cannot warm to her like i do with Jane Mcdonald. Have not seen her on Explorer 2 but would be interesting to see not only for her being on Lockrum but also being on a Marella ship. Problem with old chip fat is that it does not smell as nice and i would always feel i was destined for the chip pan! Your cruise sounds lovely, we love Malta and Croatia. I was concerned about trying an inside cabin but i had no real problems so wouldn't hesitate to have one again. Have you done or are you doing Kotor, in Montenegro can't wait to do video on that one it was amazing. 🙂

Yes this was on the Explorer. For us it was the first show on our cruise. I love Elton John and for that reason i was so looking forward to this. I was perhaps a bit disappointed, after all how could they not sing 'Philadelphia Freedom'? 🤔

Will see what the best deal is at the time. Dave starts a new job soon and is training for 6months so i don't think it will be for a while. 🙁

Now thats a lot of money but sometimes its nice to do something special and to mark that special occasion, but the question is, was the end result what you expected with regards to them being amazing and worth every penny? 📷🙂

@@midatravel Absolutley, We did haggle a little and to be fair, we won at he bingo which helped towards the cost. Happy with the end result.

It all depends on whether you chose to upgrade or not. All Inclusive is what you get as part of your included price. If you want a wider choice of drinks and better brands then you can upgrade either before the cruise (which is £10 cheaper) or you can upgrade on the ship. Hope this helps. 🍹🍹🍹🙂

Thanks for letting us know this, i'm glad it would appear normal then for all ships leaving from Barbados, makes the travelling so less stressful. Wish they would do this everywhere. Done Christmas day on Voyager but would love to do new year, imagine it would be a great way to see the new year in, great party! We played it safe booking with Marella for the river tubing but i imagine you had just as good experience and i dare say a lot cheaper. Good recommendation regarding Wacky Rollers. We will try a bigger ship but i must admit that i like the smaller ship better but i just hope i will be pleasantly surprised. Did a week's fly Cruise (first time cruise)...October 23 Canaries with P and O...Didn't get the Cruise Bug ..So we are trying Marella ..Looks like it will suit us more... personally I wouldn't recommend P and O...Seemed to have dumbed down on Entertainment and Amount of Ports per cruise but kept prices up

To be quite honest i can't really imagine cruising with anyone else bar Marella but feel for the sake of the channel we need to spread our wings. I have heard many negatives about P&O so will certainly be researching before booking. Marella have been great for us, faults yes but every cruise has been so much fun. Hope it suits you too. 🙂

I thought i had logged out and also put it on airplane mode but it still ate up my allowance. Marella need to sort their internet out. 🤔

It was booked with Marella so was surprised it was so bad. I think we were probably just unlucky that we had the one bad truck. I would hope from reviews they have changed this up or dropped it. 🙂

We got an ok deal for this cruise but i feel like i can do better. I'm waiting to try and bag a last minute cruise but even they don't seem to be offering much of a saving at the moment. Dave starts his new job soon and will be training for 6months so not going to be easy to travel for a while. Love Turkey, our first holiday together and we went for a week every year until 2015. We haven't been since but we are itching to return. I just worry it will have changed so much. Adults only definitely suits us, always look for that option although if we go with friends we tend to get air/bnb. Hopefully Part 2 of this cruise out on Sunday. 🙂

@@midatravel I know the feeling re marella cruise prices. At the moment the one in Nov (you and I were at the same time because I’m in some of your videos remember) is 600 more each than last year?!

Hi Barry, hope you had as good a time as we did. We definitely favour the AI drinks package. So much included but we still have the odd treat like a coffee if we want one. We found creating our own cocktails much better. 🍹🍹🍹🙂

Hi Daisy, yes once you have paid the £15.95p you can have what you like off the menu. Occasionally you have to pay an extra charge on some menu items but i don't think there are any of these on the Sushi Menu. We were really impressed and very full after dining here. Definitely not to be missed. 🙂

I love that pineapple shirt and i thought everyone else did too! I thought i would not like the inside but it really wasn't as bad as i thought it might be. I think we had a/c problems in the outside room so i think its just a poor system. Getting locked in a wardrobe would be pretty traumatic as a child, at least the inside room has lots of mirrors so gives the impression of being much bigger than it is. We did report a/c on the prevous cruise on Voyager and they did send someone out to look at it, we were informed it had been sorted but we could feel no difference. We put the suitcases in one of the wardrobes which has a large open space at the bottom. There is so much storage space it is quite surprising. So happy the shower curtain is gone, my bum is way too big! 😂😂😂😂

Cheers Donna, We were both happy in the inside, our main moan was the a/c but in fairness this was no different in an outside room we have previously stayed in with Marella, think there a/c is just not that good. Glad its given you reassurance, balcony was nice but to be honest we never really used it and you will find that you won't spend that much time in your cabin. You will have a great time. Had some brilliant holidays at Pontins when i was a child but unfortunately we don't have any plans of visiting the one at Skegness in the near future or to be quite honest anywhere else, danger it may tar all those happy memories i have from my childhood and also my current preference is for chasing the warmer climates as i'm getting on a bit now! 🙂🙂🙂

Definitely a sushi bar on Discovery 2 but on Voyager there was not. Had something called 'Platter' instead. Not sure about there other ships but it was so good they definitely need to have it on all the ships. As much as i enjoyed it i think our lack of liking fish still makes it unlikely we will visit one, like my meat too much! Would love to go to SF sometime. 🚢🚢🚢🍹🍹🍹😎😎😎

Hi Barry. You can pre-book using the cruise planner. If you aren't able to do this then you can book using the navigate app when you get on the boat. If you pre-book on planner then you pay straight away. Benefits of pre-booking is that you can select the time and date you want, this may be more limited if you wait until you are onboard. Was a bit of a trek in the full heat but the excitement of getting on the ship keeps you moving! If he had a full body search in a private room we may never have seen him again! We were in cabin 8032 on Deck 8. At the back above the theatre. Yes, same guys, Mark and Jack, loved the last one so much they came back for more! 😃😃😃

Hi, We loved the experience, so much fun and i was really surprised how long the river tubing was. We were able to leave our bags/property on the coach when we got to the river and were met at the other end by same coach. The river is fast in places, a couple of people overturned in our group so do be careful if you take anything with you that you don't want to lose. We only took a go pro with us for the trip down the river which was secured on a wrist strap. Sure you will love it. 🙂

Hi Eddie, there is what is called 'all inclusive' with regards to drinks, this is part of your included in price drinks, you can pay an extra £80 pre-booked or £90 on the ship for what they call the 'Premium drinks package'. The price is for 7 days. We have a video on the two drink packages which is on our site, make sure you chose the latest one. We did premium first time but for the last 2 cruises with Marella we decided that all inclusive was fine for us. The video show prices and also whats added for premium. With regards to food, yes its included in all restaurants apart from the ones they call 'Speciality restaurants' which you book at an extra price. On Explorer the speciality restaurants are Dining Club, Kora La, Surf and Turf and Umi Sushi. We like the speciality restaurants and feel they are worth the extra price. Kora La on Explorer was a disappointment so we wouldn't recommend that one on this ship. Hi Barry. Smart casual is the way for most restaurants in the evening, i wear smart long trousers and a shirt/polo or dress shorts and polo. The only real no no's in the main restaurants are swimwear/vests, snack shack is great for those. You can be more relaxed with shorts/t-shirt in buffet or bfast/lunch in latitude. Marella have what they call dress to impress nights, you don't have to wear suits/tux but some people chose to, just wear whatever you feel comfortable in. 😀
